afaik it doesn't because the two threads per core share the same SIMD units (efficiency increase, but theoretical numbers stay same)

It still didn't make a dent and Sony is still outselling Xbox. Not to mention PS exclusives are still outselling and looking better than anything on the X. BTW Almost all Ps3 exclusives carried the graphics benchmark during tht era. Uncharted 2/3 spanked every Gears game in graphics, Killzone 2/3 looked better than every Halo lol, God of War etc. Not to mention Sony caught up to Xbox in sales, even with a higher price point and coming out a year later. BTW go check the stats almost every year after it hit the market ps3 outsold Xbox 360 even costing hundreds more. You living in a bizarre world bro. Sony is known for a whole lot of BS before release .. for the ps3 ( multiple hdmi outs .. pretending it was way better than the 360).. they also did the whole massive disinformation campaign that killed the dreamcast when that was actually a great machine.

Yeap I believe you are right... registers and others few units are redundant to create the virtual core but FPU is shared/same (if the core is using the virtual can't use).

I remember PS3 era to have a slow start to Sony but after they did catch in sales... and the best games in graphics/performance were on PS3.

No different than the amount of people believing that Sony be stronger because of some """insider""". Goes both ways. The truth is, we won't know until final specs are given by both MS and Sony. Everything else is highly suspect and I don't believe none of it. I still stand by both consoles being very similar, between 10 and 12tf GPU, 16-24GB total RAM, and Zen2. The main difference between consoles will be Sony customizing for VR and MS customizing for Azure.

I don't think its quite so simple. They work with AMD and know the options offered at every price point true... what they don't know is the price target ($400 or $500?) and how much of a loss each is willing to take so all that muddles the water of who gets an already miniscule (10-15%) perf crown.
To add to this as TF counts go up it gets harder to create a significant gap to the point it won't be higher than 15%

Mat (NPD) shared that unit sales Pro sells more while X have a bigger % sales in Xbox family than Pro (not incommon because PS4 family sells way more than XB1 family).
That is US the strongest Xbox territory.
Outside Pro maybe put even stronger numbers than X.

Xbox one x has been selling very well nobody claimed it would sell more than the original consoles.. Sony claimed the ps4 pro was a 4k machine .. its not, MS claimed its machine was and it is. The price difference is small, its quieter looks better has more ram and significantly better performance.
The xbox one x is a way better machine than the ps4 pro .. and obviously the Pro sold just a few more despite the huge advantage of user base because Sony wont talk about sales numbers.
Total sales generally still put 360 ahead.
Games wise the best graphics was almost always 360 .. if u use 1 or two games to prove an architecture is better then forza horizon 3 easily beating drive club means the xbox one is more powerful than the ps4. I doubt youd be down with that argument. Your obviously a little confused and reactive as i pointed out in my last point.
As i said console sales wise, game sales wise and performance wise the 360 beat the ps3.
Overall sony has lost 3 out of 4 performance capabilities of the console releases.

And Microsoft does? Where can I get those numbers? Often stated figure for the Pro is that about one in five of PS4s sold is a Pro (so 20% or thereabouts). Whether that is high or not I cannot say. Where do I get sales figures for One, X or not?

Games sales - xbox 360 attach ratio was double PS3
Games performance - xbox 360 won almost every multiplatform ever .. ps3 had some nice looking exclusives but so did the 360, like tomb raider which was described by digital foundry as the best looking game of the generation

The affordable? Maybe, but is none of those next box get the same price as PS5? Thats my guess. The low will be more cheap than PS5 and the hardcore/Xbox X alike will be more expansive. 16GB~12GB for the lower console is not that bad if they want to promove the cloud.

Idk if Snek/PS5 target 24GB the gap might be too big even accounting 1080p vs 4k.
I would guess that if the higher specced twins feature 24GB, 12GB would be too big a drop to maintain parity.

It'll be great to see what both companies can do with OS advancements next gen. With SSDs, more and faster RAM, and a beast CPU compared to the Jags, they could do some great stuff. I would like to see MS do something like the game bar overlay for console but more expansive for media. I really loved snap feature and would like to see an advanced version of that but in a picture in picture customizable overlay.

Fair enough. Still think its not that bad low memory. And unless they drop those two consoles (or first the high end and than later the cheap one) a year later its impossible to maintain the parity without knowing the PS5 specs. Happens with PS5 vs Xbox One.

I'm sure there are plenty of "names" on twitter, one of which was posted here, but I don't care to look for it. If you've kept up with this and the other threads, it isn't made up, so i don't know why you're acting as if it never happened. No need to be facetious. There's high Hopes coming from both sides. It does seem like the majority is starting to level out, though. It's understandable. People get excited and shoot a bit too high.
