It looks like sunset overdrive. And I welcome artistic, cartoon looks. I’m honestly sick of everything looking super realistic!
Don't fall for the BS my guy. It has nothing to do with the aesthetics or visual flare of the game. NT are amazing developers. It has to do with this game not being multiplat or on another preferred system.

Watch the responses when Microsoft shows the games with hyper realistic visuals. They'll find something to bitch about, regardless. Its just more petty nonsense from the usual suspects. Ignore them.

Also, the combat director for this game is the same guy who developed the combat for devil may cry. Should be fun!

Now I'm extra excited!

Why do I spoil things for myself? I blame FOMO.

I don't know how to feel about this. It could be alright? Maybe?

Unslaved was one of my favorites last generation, I could see people lining up for this game, maybe the start of a trilogy but that's not Ninja Theorie's MO.

You are the king of straw men today. Congrats.

Nobody is saying that the game needs to be “hyper realistic” to look good just that Bleeding Edge isn’t a great looking cartoon game.

Cartoonish games can look amazing (See most of the Nintendo catalog)

But he is right.

That’s subjective, I need to see more, hear more before I decide if this game is for me. I’m certainly not going to regard it as the worst possible thing they could of made. I was looking forward to a single player game too but if it’s fun I’ll give it a spin.

The irony in this post is....... I dunno. Insane. Let's just leave it that.

No straw man arguments here, precious. I stand by my statement and many know its true. If this started with a Nintendo logo or Sony, the reception would be worlds apart.

I ain't made at you breh. I mean, its a new IP from one of Microsoft's new developers that's an exclusive. That means its not on PlayStation and its not going to be on Switch. Bound to ruffle some feathers to be sure.

But, hey. Theres always your PC.

So Microsoft continues to dictate exactly which games their devs should be making instead of trusting the creatives they hired.

Yes.

This game was in production way before MS purchased them.

I loved Enslaved as well. Great game.

This game was in development years before the acquisition. Microsoft is hands off. This is the game NT wanted to make.

That could be true but this part is probably not. I don't think they'd buy a development team and let them do whatever they want.

Stop being passive aggressive. I could be wrong but I'm not shoving it in your face like other posters. Jesus.

When MS purchased them.

Booty notes that bringing developers like Ninja Theory on board under the Microsoft Studios umbrella will still allow them complete autonomy, with Xbox having no interest in changing the culture at any of its newly-acquired studios. "We're not trying to overdo the Microsoft presence. But what we do is make the studio feel supported, empowered and capable of focusing entirely on the content, without needing to worry about the other day-to-day realities," he explained. "We want to free them from worrying about where the next project is coming from, and what work-for-hire stuff they might need to take on."

Bringing facts to the table and asking you to do some research is passive aggressive now?? Say wha????

Is their irrefutable proof that this game is not what Microsoft wants them to do?

According to Wikipedia, the Razor project was started in 2013 as "a game that suited publishers' requirements..."

The project then failed to lift off, at which point Ninja Theory decided to make Hellblade.

Also from the Wiki, with a source:
Studio creative director Tameem Antoniades said that they opted for the acquisition as "We want to be free from the AAA machine and make games focused on the experience, not around monetization", and would allow them to continue building smaller, risky games with creative independence

Yeah, sounds exactly like what this game is. Seriously, after Razor failed to gain ground they said they wanted to make more indie-type games. They make Hellblade, then they join Microsoft because they think they'll get backing for intimate "experience" focused games, and they do a 4 v 4? Who are you joking? It's crystal clear what's going on.

It sounds to me like they're making one 'publisher friendly' title and one less commercially viable project that they really want to make. Frictional Games spoke about doing something similar after they made SOMA.

Why is everyone acting like we didn't already know this was the game NT was working on before MS purchased them?

What did you all want them to do, scrap the game and have something else ready in 6 months time? It's obviously just another excuse to shit on MS and Xbox.

While not my type of game, NT is good at melee and who better to make a game like this? It's also a popular genre and if done well, could be a hit.

I already posted an interview where they said they have multiple teams making multiple games. This is just one of them. You have to give these studios time to produce, most of them were only bought over the last year.

You know if people actually read the whole thread before commenting, a lot of these tiresome posts would be avoided.
This was in development long before Microsoft bought them.
Stop coming in here with your passive aggressive facts, none hostile toned posts and asking people to actually read!

Da hell do you think you are???

To all the people who are saying this is a shit game and Microsoft has ruined Ninja Theory you guys realize this was in development since 2014 right by a different team other than the Hellblade? Once Ninja Theory got acquired the game did change quite a bit but the point is Microsoft had nothing to do with the idea of the game or style at the start of development.

Somehow, that doesn't make this direction any less disappointing. And I'm also a little concerned about the talk of several games in development, since NT did its best game when focusing on a limited experience. But maybe they can grow and still put out focused games like Hellblade. This game just feels... wrong, following Hellblade.

Not a fan of the character design nor the game type at all, will have to wait for release and impressions.

This thread makes me want to go back and see what half these people were saying about Drawn to Death.

I’m guessing half the people hating on this were optimistic for that.

... says the clown who tries to turn ANY point of criticism into console war BS. You're consistent in your shitposting, I'll give you that.
Frankly, the only clowns here are those like yourself. I still can't explain why one would visit a thread speaking on a product they have no interest in. If its not your bag simply skip the thread entirely. Its not that hard, tbh. I do it all the time for Sony and Nintendo threads. Their games don't interest me, not in the slightest.

That's not conjecture. That's genuine. So there's no reason for me to go in a Sony thread (for example) and state me "concerns" or give my "critiques" because I really don't care about what they have on offer.

It says alot about those who find it necessary to do the exact opposite. This s*** goes on in EVERY Xbox thread. Trolls like yourself drop by to shit post. Then get butt hurt when your wackness gets called out.

Stay salty breh.

Hate the anesthetics because companies are now saturating tht type of aesthetic. I hope thy have tht second IP and its a campaign focused one. I'm crossing my fingers too.
