Included in the event was a new look at cover star Patrick Mahomes discussing what it takes to be an NFL-quality quarterback. Check it out below.

Face of the Franchise: QB1

Face of the Franchise: QB1 is our new Career Campaign that kickstarts your franchise this year. We made two graphics that quickly explain some important details of what Face of the Franchise: QB1 is all about. The first image is what you do in the new experience.

Superstar X-Factors

In total there will be around 50 Superstar X-Factor players and over 30 additional Superstar players. The difference between the two are the Zone abilities and Superstar abilities. Zone abilities are about your style of play and your opponent's style of play. If you want to get Mahomes in the Zone, you will need to adjust your style of play to help him meet the objective list to get him in the zone. So, if your playstyle is to run the ball you won't have a high chance of meeting that objective list to get him in the Zone. Also, depending on your difficulty level, it will be harder or easier to activate these. Competitive is different than SIM and we will provide more detail for that during the Superstars X-Factors stream on May 9.

In total there are over 20 Zone abilities for the 50 Superstar X-Factor players and over 140 Superstar abilities. Each game you will see and feel the difference because of these special traits.

I would have liked to see more discussion about this new mode during the presentation instead of a 5 second clip.

It just sucks that every year I have to notice the same legacy jank/glitches in gameplay footage that plays during the new feature announcements

I’m still waiting for a game where CPU can run screens correctly, CPU doesn’t run engage eight every few plays leaving huge gains open downfield, and CPU WRs don’t run out bounds automatically on every pass to to the flats.

That being said I play everywhere, just like I hope for a new NCAA announcement every year even though I know it’s bad for my health

A new NCAA will just be made like current Madden.

NCAA 14 was a great game. It had flaws, but IMO was miles ahead of Madden at the time. I feel like they were implementing genuine improvements year to year towards the end, slowly, but surely.

I dunno if that team still exists or if it could be re-assembled but even if it couldn't I would still enjoy NCAA more than Madden. NCAA Football is my favorite sport on the planet, and that is saying a lot because I love sports, in general. NCAA was always/will always be more enjoyable for me, just due to it's nature.

NCAA 14 definitely had it's flaws. I'm beginning to notice that time has allowed people to forget about them, similar to what happened with 2K5. That said, I was one of the people who considered NCAA 14 to still be my favorite football game until last year's Madden. The gameplay has really come a long way and the next game looks like it will continue to improve.

One thing that's always annoyed me with these career modes (especially the older NBA 2K games) was that you can dominate whatever pre-draft mode the game has, get drafted top 8, then walk between the lines with the skill set of a 6th round pick (or 12th man in NBA). I get that those skill points make for easy microtransactions, but the scenario doesn't make sense. I bring this up because with Madden 20, they're advertising as dominating college, becoming the face of the franchise, going to the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, etc. Maybe a sports game in the modern era will finally allow our created players to be a great rookie instead of a "project" player.

I agree somewhat, though again, I hate seeing legacy issues in the game year to year, simple issues with the AI being unable to execute basic X's and O's football too often.

I am hoping to see improvement in that area primarily.

As long as MUT continues to be the focus of improvements and content, and as long as there continues to be a lack of competition to keep Tiburon honest, Madden will never again reach the heights that it did during the PS2/Xbox/GCN era.

What astounds me is how certain fixes they make one year (like presentation) can take huge steps back the next. The errors and startling lack of accuracy for the commentary in M19 were inexcusable, especially in an era of patches to fix almost anything. Glitchy replay angles, broken stats, clipping, and dodgy animations— especially this far into Gen8– were unacceptable, and never fixed,

Tiburon runs with one “big” idea every year for the non-MUT game, and everything else goes towards trying to push players into MUT and opening lootboxes— errr... random card packs.

Yikes on those schools available. Going to have to hold my nose when I choose one. I guess Oregon is the lesser of the evils.

I don't play Madden seriously anymore so I can't comment on it like the hardcore. I do enjoy playing the upcoming weekend's games on Tuesday/Wednesday night when there's no real game to watch (unless there's some MACtion on ESPN).

Dumb trailer because it barely showed the game.
Madden '19 was broken. Will wait for reviews.
