The fanatics that control discourse at Resetera are just miserable people. Authoritarians, blind zealots.
Problems for fighters is that they also have to think about weight class.
That's without considering that FFVII is a fantasy world, where Cloud shouldn't be able to use that sword. Calls to realism only when it fits their agenda and if it doesn't then it's "just a game doesn't need to be realistic".
These people aren't rational, they're all about control. There's nothing wrong with a girl having really big breasts. A lot of guys like big breasts and there's nothing wrong with that either. Some don't care about breasts and care more about things like a nice ass. It's all good and our culture loves showing our sexiness, you see it all over instagram, all over facebook, all over Twitch. And there's nothing wrong with that. But at the same time exists the opposite where control over what will be shown is important, where slut shaming has taken a new form and they'll often overlap surprisingly, with some trying to be in both groups, often hypocritically. It's all about groups and the kind of culture that's been created in certain circles. Now, you also have the opposite problem as well, which was something that existed on GAF at some point, where people couldn't handle criticism of a character's design.
You see it whenever someone wants to show a Tifa design they like and someone will automatically attack them for their "porn fetish fantasy". Or that ridiculous reaction against "cute asians" at Resetera.
