Wow, well at least he was being honest about it being 'miserable'.
Some people complaining about the moderation there see the bigger picture, but some seem to think the sole issue is not being ban happy enough when criticizing someone with mental health issues. Sure, a reminder from the mods that the person they are criticizing has mental health issues and should be given some slack was definitely warranted. But that is just part of the problem. The bigger issues are:
1) When you burn a witch for saying the wrong words, a real human being is actually getting harmed.
2) when you burn a witch for saying the wrong words, sometimes the person burned was never a witch to begin with.
3) trying to burn a witch for saying the wrong words is not something we should be doing period.

I've been mostly posting on the other side because of activity and because the warframe gaf clan just moved straight there.... but things are getting extreme at resetera. Lately the mods have taken to create "mod guidelines" for threads, and any infringement to the guidelines is met with a ban. As you can imagine the guidelines are often crafted so that the thread ends up saying whatever they want the thread to say.
And of course any wrongthink against the wokeness standards and themes du jour is harshily punished.

A Sonic fan slinging shit at another Sonic fan is nothing new sadly. It is upsetting that the OP of Era's Sonic community, later mod, didn't care about a Sonic fan's mental issues or need. To many he was Etika, but to me he was Iceman, Sonic community fan and contributor. It is a loss for the Sonic community, and he probably did more for Sonic than Beef ever did too.

Honestly, gaf isn't near as active as it used to be. On the flip side, the posts are significantly better and the mods are also significantly better. Era might have a lot more daily posts but the quality is trash and, as you know, the mods are trash. If you can, try to get your warframe clan to move back. You won't have to worry about being banned for wrong speak.

Me and my brother are Sonic fan as well and I must say the actual Sonic fanbase its not much different from Pokemon fanbase. Most of them have those particular mental problems about making a 'human shield' to defend whatever they want to believe.
They are never open to criticism. It is impractical to talk openly about something with them.

I dunno. Based on my understanding of the meltdown, their cult was attempting to take over GAF. When Evilore wouldn't have any of it, they pressed the nuclear button and fled to a new forum. The situation is different at ERA.
ERA will hopefully fester and burn for many more months to come, because it will be a beacon to warn away others from their brand of madness. They cannot accept that their Utopia is hypocritical mess. They cannot accept that they were duped twice by the authority figures at the head of the exodus and at the head of the new community (ERA). You will see many more meltdowns and mini-riots before anything happens.
It'll be a really good case study in cognitive dissonance. I'm guessing the 2020 election is when things go off the rails assuming things haven't gone off the rails beforehand. I don't think that group can handle another 2016 result.

There are sites that went way harder on him compared to Era but why take this moment to specify them?
