FYI the latest update is now live on Steam and the KOF characters are available for purchase!

Just bought Mai Shiranui on PC. Didn't buy any of her extra costumes though...Mai only has one costume, and that's how it should be.

I also didn't buy Kula. This is a series with Blue Mary, Vanessa, Angel, and Shermie, but they chose Kula because they can't do a release these days without at least a loli-adjacent character. Sigh...

Location test for the DOA6 arcade version is being prepped/scheduled.

I'm really liking both of the new characters. Mai has fast-paced moves and Kula has some cool ice-based attacks. Interesting to see how their KOF moves translate over to DOA. It also shows how much nicer KOF could look if it used this engine.
It'd be nice if the new characters included all their costumes for the price but I guess not. Adding entries in story mode for both of the new characters was a nice touch, even if they only get one episode/fight each.

I have never really been into this game, but I feel I may be forced to for Mai. Plus jiggle must be supported. (Just not TOO much otherwise there is not as much jiggle).

I found them in the DLC tab on Steam. They might be a bit difficult to find, since they are also adding individual costumes as well right now. Just bought the pirate and wedding costumes for Tina. $1.99 each.

Oh I see. I’m on the PS4 and Xbox One so I’m assuming they probably show up during the store updates. Individual costumes finally? Seems like they could be listening to some suggestions after all.

An arcade version? I didn’t hear anything about that. Probably good because it can give the game a little more exposure at least in Japan or around Asia.

I really wish they'd make it easier to earn coins now. I've had the game since release and I'm not sure I've even unlocked half of the costumes.

New DLC costumes announced for everyone except Mai and Kula, which I fully expected to be honest. Bikini's, which I felt were one of the blandest costumes from DOA5, are the focus of this first pack. No new character till September, and it'll probably be (not Rachel) so I don't care.

Buying tonight, if those with some experience could help me choose between PC and PS4? (I have been moving more and more to PC because I never really have to worry about next gen being backwards compatible but then sometimes there is the downside of a lesser online community)

Well according to steam charts the PC version barely has a community, and my experience with PS4 online wasn't exactly great.

I don’t think you can buy individual DLC on PS4 yet unless they changed that? Not sure if that matters to you. If so it may be worth Googling.

I have it on XB.

Actually excited for this. I will buy a few bikinis for my favorite characters and the beach map is very welcome we better not have to pay for that though....

You can do it on Xbox so I don’t see why it would be different on PS4

When the game came out individual costume DLC could be bought on XB only. On PS4 and PC if you wanted a costume you had to buy the whole season pass. I know they added individual costume purchases to the PC version since. I don’t recall reading if PS4 ever got it also.

I’m assuming the PS4 version will have the bigger and more active community like with most fighting games if you are going to be playing it online a lot.

Regarding individual costumes purchases, the ability was fully added to the PC release in all regions. Currently on the PS4, only Asian regions can purchase individual costumes, except outfits for Kula & Mai, which are available individually in North America & Europe.

Team Ninja nor Koei Tecmo have commented on whether, going forward, individual costume purchases will be available for all characters on the PS4 in North American & Europe or if Mai & Kula are just an exception, due to the characters not being retroactively included in the previous costume packs.

Its good the game is getting swimsuits, but those look like really boring ones. No side-boob. No under-boob. No thongs. No slingshots. No high heels. No like.

My advice is to first download the Core (Values) Version and try it. It has almost all the single player game modes (except story, but DOA 6 story mode is 1 hour long anyway) and both ranked and lobbies to play online.

Now, if you want to play online, the PS4 version has the biggest community. Otherwise, if you enjoy more the single player modes or you want to dress up you favorite waifu, the STEAM version allows you to buy individual costumes for each character.

Kasumis swimsuit is pretty much an asset flip from the last game.
Team Ninja has no shame. If they went going to reuse assets from past games, at least they could have choose sexier bikinis, you know, true ASSets. It's obvious that they are still trying to pander to the eSports scene, and that's why they are renouncing fanservice and eye candy. Team Ninja must accept that Dead or Alive it's not respected as a competitive fighting game. It's unfair because DOA has a really deep gameplay system, but sadly, nobody in the fighting game community is willing to recognize this and is and uphill battle that cannot be won

Agreed. It’s truly unfair and I even commented on this before. People seem to write off doa before they even try it because it is known for it’s sexy female characters and it’s hold system I suppose. Tecmo should just focus on making doa6 the best game they can because following the ESports crowd will probably never benefit them in the long run.

This is true about most fighting games now days. Focus on ESports, intentionally cutting popular characters to be resold as DLC eventually, and lack of good single player content to appeal to casuals if the 3 biggest issues with fighting games today I would say. FTP unlock mechanics now popping up in fighting games isn't helping either.

And going by the US & UK Playstation Stores, looks like the West still will not be able to purchase individual costumes, as the beach outfits are only available as part of the new season pass or in a bundle. There's probably a good chance we're now past the point, where this issue will get resolved for the remainder of DoA6-vanilla's life on PS4.

Season Pass 2 🤔
I don't think there has been enough content to move to season pass 2

According to Tecmo's marketing plans, I think there has been enough content, and now's the time to move to pass 2. They plan to hit the $1000 mark
All the DLCs for DOA5 were more than 1000$.

I never really minded how much there was, since you could always buy it piecemeal back then. I'm not buying every DOA5 outfit, just the Rachel, Tina, Ayane, and Honoka costumes...as well as any with significant under/sideboob. Plus, DOA5 launched with a fair amount of costumes for each character as well.

DOA6 on the other hand, launches with four costumes per character (which slight color differences increasing the numbers) and you couldn't buy costumes by themselves until recently.

PAULINK

I microwave steaks.
The fact that this game has been out for 4 months and we still can't buy individual costumes on ps4 is MEGA irritating, I almost convinced myself to buy one of the packs until I realized I would only want half of them, simply because we lack the options.

I don't like the recent beach stages from DOA5 and 6. I like the DOA 3 version the most. Aesthetically, it is the best designed one. It may not be the best looking due to it being a game from 2 gens ago, but I like the looks of it. The new one feels small and narrow for my liking.

I prefer Seaside Market from DOA4.
