I am of the opinion that this would be extinguishing the fire with gasoline ;)
It really doesn't the vape has no Tar. Literally no fire involved. Nicotine isn't the issue of cigs, It's the delivery mechanism. What you mix with it to get into you blood through the lungs. Vapes remove the fire and smoke, and still let you "smoke." Almost no physical harm to the body. It becomes more like drinking coffee.

With "extinguishing the fire with gasoline" I was referring to that helping quit addiction of tobacco with vaping is going from lesser addiction to more serious. here is the post I made before:

Tobacco need wears off after 2-4 weeks so stay strong.
On the other hand I was fighting with vaping urge for more then half a year - vaping addicts 10 times stronger - I know as I was smoking both.

I apologize for skipping your post. My experience with vape, is it took me off 2 packs a day to 2 smokes a day with the vape. And I don't consider any time I vape a tobacco smoking session. If I vape a lot in a day I care not. It is not cigs. I then moved on to reducing vape, and then eventually just was 100% marijuana again. Been only smoking cigs 3 years.

Congrats OP.

I’m currently cutting back on my daily cig intake from 20ish to 10 or less I’ve brought a vape and getting use to it. I have a tiny bit of tabacco left and I think I’m ready to give it the kick.

Tried stopping a few times but failed but I feel this time I might just do it. Been a smoker for like 20 years so I know I need to stop so I don’t get any major health issues.

Keep up the good work ex smokers and dippers I hope to be joining you guys soon 🙂

Well, it seems that it could be something relative and subjective, but I was vaping for 7 years everyday almost every free moment and I was addcited very strongly so quitting took me half a year to feel comfortable.

How does video make you feel vape ppl?

Nicotine has been used by humans since 1834: https://www.worldofmolecules.com/drugs/nicotine.htm

I mean "Law professor Kathleen Hoke, who specializes in public health law at the University of Maryland, says that in adults, nicotine’s health consequences “don’t kill you, don’t make you have an oxygen tank, don’t cause cancer.” Hoke adds that staking the lawsuits on nicotine’s health impacts — like in a traditional cigarette suit — may be a long shot. “That’s not going to be the nature of a winning case against Juul or other manufacturers of e-cigarettes, because the health consequences are not as severe,” she says — at least, in adults. "

Alcohol, coffee, nicotine all legal for adults. Just know what you're doing how you're consuming it.

Yes, but being addicted to the vape is just like saying you're addicted to coffee. Don't beat yourself up over 7 years. Your lungs didn't even feel them. Every cig though. Does have a small impact and than your lungs build resistance and that building of resistance is where the health dangers set in.

You could also just inject nicotine into the blood if you want something even safer than vapes >.>. Mental health benefits of nicotine > than people telling you what to put in your body.

The vape system lets you limit yourself. You fill the vape once a day and say this is all I'm "smoking". Use the measurements reduce. I find it is manageable. But a cig I can't control.(really learned to enjoy them in full).

i have been smoking 25 years but have just got a vape machine. The thing is I dont like smoking and not really bothered about the nicotine, but I like having something to do or when I drink to socialise.
I will try Stopober this year and hopefully get off them full time.

Good luck with your quitting!

vaping is pretty bad, don't do it unless you have to, the literature is pretty clear there

it causes acute damage to dna, heart and lung disease of the worst kinds (small airways)

I never knew why people used alcohol/smoking to socilise but then I heard my friend told me it is the only way he stands his family.

How long until the damn urges wear off?? I've been chewing gum and popping Zyn pouches for a week now. Seven days. Granted this is the longest I've ever gone without a dip in years, I think I can do it.
Maybe in the years the craving will subside a little bit. Stick to it bro.

Wherever you read that a molecule can damage your DNA is levels of scientific bullshit I don't even want to try find on google. Only your RNA changes throughout your life.

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/...ims-sexual-harassment-allegations/1676473001/ - Articles about health on heart were cigeratte propoganda .

The airways rumor you read was about this: https://www.webmd.com/lung/popcorn-lung#1 , which is something caused by a different molecule than nicotine and is only in the vape oil you choose to buy. A full outline without bias(as far as I can read) is here https://www.webmd.com/lung-cancer/vaping-lung-cancer .

Your dna is decided by your parents man. And it doesn't change after that. You are focusing on lab experiments of hundreds of generations of mice used to mutate them via breeding. Guess what humans are not breed in labs. If you marry a vape smoker who's parents were vape smokers and have a family history of vape smoking like a lab mouse that got vape chemicals directly injected into them since birth to than reproduce with other mice of chemicals injected to them.

You can prove pretty much anything as than you are causing a forced mutation.

dna damage is completely different from mutation
You are scared of very fake science. Here is how DNA and Mutation works. The term DNA damage is an oxymoron. The only term for a damaged dna is called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_defect

This is where DNA education begins:
(As this is how we learned to cause mutation)

This is the outline of genetic science since then. https://wiki.groenkennisnet.nl/display/TAB/Chapter+5:+Genetic+models

Here is exactly the knowledge you seem to have forgotten/not learned.

This is reference to changes in one's RNA.

https://www.thoughtco.com/dna-versus-rna-608191

Your RNA is determined by environmental factors and literally changes every night you go to sleep.

Here is exactly where they tell you what they did in the study

"There are cancers that are influenced by the hereditary factor. Thus, a familial susceptibility to mammary and gastric carcinomas is known to exist; also, to melanomas in the Lipizzaner horse breed. The main spontaneous actinic cancers in domestic animals are: vulvar melanoma in Angora goats; conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma in Hereford and Norman cattle; squamous cell carcinoma in Scottish Shepherds; squamous cell carcinoma of the external ear in white cats; squamous cell carcinoma of the external ear in sheep.

Directly ionizing radiations are electrically charged particles: negative charge, electrons, such as beta rays; positive charge, alpha particles. " from the book. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK9552/

This is not vaping bro.

Top man! I quit over a year now on the spot but had to vape for a while until I quit everything. That fucking urge to smoke after food still haunts me but I’m stronger than that so I’m good now

You can do it bro, just keep your mind strong and nothing can stop you. Once the idea is stamped in there, not even people around you smoking will make you smoke.

I switched to snuff this summer. It's not as satisfying but it does the job. After a while, smoking started to feel disgusting.

...but when I watched episode 2 of The Boys and that guy started smoking:

i remember the first time i seriously quit smoking. during my 20s i was a serious smoker, i smoke rolled up cigarettes, which were unfiltered. it was making me tired, whenever i used to hang out with friends, and we'd all be smoking, i would get tired every time. so i quit cold turkey. day 3 into it, i woke up, and i remember feeling so good. like i felt better than i had in years. it was incredible. from then on, i just think back to that wonderful feeling, and how i had robbed myself of it for years. quitting tobacco is a hard thing to do but if you can do it for real, the rewards are immense.

Hey man props on quitting on Smoking.. I know it's a pain to endure an addiction, so keep going. I've been trying to make my mother to quit but she won't... Especially since she has heart failure.

Man, you don't notice how bad this shit is until you break away from it and then hang out with smokers again.

I used to chain smoke, then quit, been vaping for like 5 years. Earlier this year I was hanging out with a friend I don't see too often anymore, and we're at his place, he smokes constantly. I actually like the smell of cigarettes as long as we're not hotboxing tobacco, so I didn't mind or pay much attention to it.

The next day I was completely out of commission, massive headache and felt sick to my stomach all day.

I'm always looking at tobbacco users with complete bafflement. What's the appeal behind smoking that's worth damaging your body over? Drinking is understandable as some alcoholic beverages taste really nice, as do specific drugs, but smoking?

Clearly you have never had coffee and cigarettes. One of the best combinations in the world.... Not even joking.

...Sounds weird but I only smoke when im driving in my car. I literally don't feel the need any other time. And im fine with smoking about 7 cigs a week.

I strongly disagree with the people saying use vaping to quit cigs.

I was hooked on vaping for years. You intake massive amounts of nicotine that way. It's way too easy to just keep doing it all day.

Just use gum / lozenges / patches and slowly wean down on how many of those a day you use.

You're absolutely right, as I've never smoked tobacco or had coffee in my entire life. Smoking has way too many negative factors than positive, but I've never tried it so I wouldn't fully understand.

You know when it's a really hot day and your outside... Then you have a cool glass of water. That relaxing refreshing feeling is why cigarettes appeal to me. I smoke menthol so there is a mild minty flavor. It's most definitely an acquired taste. Do you drink alcohol? Its nice after you have a little buzz.

That's something else entirely. I don't even think menthol even qualifies as smoking lol.

A friend of mine has been unable to quit smoking for years. I've known him my whole life. He started smoking late too which is fucking stupid, most people start when they're young and naive he started when he was like 20 and I remember at the time seeing him buy cigarettes when I was at the store with him and I was like wtf when did you start smoking? And he was really insecure and ashamed about it he just put his head down and quickly changed the subject. I remember I thought about grilling him big-time, but I didn't wanna come off as one of those self-important people who look down on smokers.

Since then he's tried and can't quit. The longest he went was like a month, and I wonder if he's ever went that long, he's lied before because he still is insecure and ashamed about it.

When I went on Wellbutrin for my anxiety. My cravings stopped entirely. Its been shown to reduce the cravings. Im sure he could get some sort of prescription if its that huge of an issue. Helped me curb those cravings almost immediately.

He's my friend and I love him, but he's the least motivated person I know. I could tell you some of the stories about how lazy he is and you wouldn't believe it. Anything that requires any effort whatsoever he just refuses to do. I wonder if it's depression/anxiety that makes him like that or if he's just a lazy SOB. And quitting smoking of course requires effort and willpower.

I'll never understand what this feels like. I've smoked for the past 20 years and frequently go on prolonged smoking breaks (longest one was 4 years)... what exactly do the urges feel like? Whenever I stop I feel nothing of the sort and I've always been curious.

This is weird. You don’t get the urge of your body screaming “give me nicotine now?” You must be lucky and see you don’t get any kind of urge, I suggest you just quit smoking at all. Don’t waste this opportunity mate

None whatsoever. I smoke because I enjoy it, but I can stop on a whim and there are no repercussions whatsoever. For example, I haven't smoked since saturday and I'm absolutely fine. Smoke about 12~15 a day usually, only stopped since we're on vacation and cigarettes are expensive as fuck here. I have no idea what these urges are even supposed to feel like, which is why I'm asking.

You’re lucky my man. But a brother to brother advise, quit it for good. You might not feel any urge but you’re slowly burning your body from the inside.

Eh, quit a year ago and I still get urges. The smell turns my stomach so that helps.

Ecigs can help, depending if you can use it as a way to quit. Turning the nicotine down every week, not constantly puffing on the damn thing. That's it really, you pretty much have a nicotine delivering device that's always on, probably on you at all times too. Super easy to pull out and puff. Don't know about you but there's no way I could use one to quit. I'd just get more addicted.

Quit cold turkey 6 months ago. I feel great, I don't stink and I can actually jog now without wheezing out. I get an urge every blue moon but nothing that's easy to shake. I don't miss it to be honest, although sometimes if I'm having a beer I think a smoke would go nice with it.

I used Nicotine Gum 4 mg to quit smoking. I also called the state quit line and they sent me a big box of nicotine gum for free. Snus is very addictive. The swedish snus is actually considered better for you than Camel snus. Zyn and Dryft pouches are a great alternative. Dryft has a 7 mg and Zyn has a 6. I'd say stick to a flavor that can take your mind off chewing or tobacco. Citris or spearmint. That way you get the satisfaction without the taste in your mouth.

I quit smoking almost 10 years ago. Which is crazy. The worst part was the nicotine. I think the key is getting on a good nicotine replacement. Once you can ween off the tobacco you can focus on weening off the nicotine. You have to kill that sensation for the actual tobacco first. I personally liked Dryft over Zyn. Zyn has 15 pouches compared to the 20 in Dryft.

I think about it everyday, after a good meal, while drinking, after a long day at work, while playing games. 2 years later, I still think about it everyday.

My dad quit smoking after 40 years. He lasted 10 years and is now back to smoking.

You don't quit smoking. Nobody does. You just pause, replace it with other tics etc until it becomes impossible to not start again.

Nicotine engraves itself into your brain for life. It NEVER gets easier. IF you've gone cold turkey and been clean for 10+ years, and some guy smokes up beside you, you won't be able to not smoke. You WILL take a ciggie and start suckling on it if he offers you one semi-persistently. It's automatic, your brain will decide for you. You'll say 'no thanks' but your hands will reach for the ciggie.
