Hum... Not sure what to expect. I'm not really liking the implication of that name. If it wasn't announced for consoles already, I'd have assumed this was a phone game.

Really wish they'd just bite the bullet, let the bad guys win and have the RE universe in a similar place to TLOU or Walking Dead, you know... Except Hunter nests, Licker infested buildings, abandoned sewer galleries full of giant spiders and crocodiles.
This is actually what that name suggests to me. No too sure I really like that. The world at the point of RE6 is already a bioweapon hellscape, just not an overrun one. It would take some serious backtracking to suddenly say the T virus infected the whole world and without that it would mean the world was overrun with the stupid crap we saw in RE6 which was more magic than biological warfare.

Also Hunters are produced BOWs, so you wouldn't see them form naturally.

Since it's tucked away on the website in the OP, here's a direct link to the upcoming stream/broadcast.

Hope it's a coop title, RE isn't as good in single-player.

The virus in RE6 was fun as hell, it created a lot of crazy monsters.

RE6 has great gameplay and some of the monsters were fun but I just didn't like the world and it plot was pretty much trash. To be fair RE6 isn't the worst when it comes to silly monsters, RE5 was way worst. I just don't trust the devs to make a post apocalyptic world after RE5 & 6. Not unless Capcom say that everything based after RE2 remake is no longer canon.

Yes please.
Meh, Outbreak needs a full remake rather than a remaster. They need to rejig the gameplay because Outbreak didn't age well and some of the scenarios are pretty crappy. Keep the specialist characters, keep the scenarios but make it over the shoulder like RE2 remake.

As long as it isn't mostly a pretty good game but suddenly boil down to an idiotic and out of place action set piece for the ending where someone shows up with the mcguffin weapon needed to destroy the boring monster and have a lame ending where it all ruins everything that came before it (I'm looking at you 7), then I'll be happy.

(That's what I think of your comment.)
We are in 2019 bro, get with times.

The only thing that would restore my faith in this series would be a multiplayer title. Some suggestions:

- Mercenaries game
- A new coop game
- Outbreak 3 with a survival/BR mode

I reckon that it's just some game following in the steps of Umbrella Chronicles and/or Operation Raccoon City.
Perhaps using the RE Engine and stuff. Or maybe not.
In all likelihood it's going to be a MP game of inferior quality, nothing major. A dim-witted spin-off just to cash in on their warhorse franchise and milk the RE fans a bit further - not even on par with the Revelations series. (who said it's a bad thing to milk the fans? Capcom's gotta make sure they have a future as a company)

I'd be surprised if this is the game that Anpo and Nakanishi have been working on. Back in 2017 Yasuhiro Anpo (RE2Remake team/supervising director and RE Revelations 2 director) and Koushi Nakanishi (Resident Evil 7 and RE Revelations director), announced that they had been developing a certain RE product.
RE2 Remake had been announced back in August 2015, so it couldn't have been that. They must have meant something else. People hypothesized that it might have been RE Revelations 3 what they alluded to.

Operation Raccoon City was one of their best. Had it’s bugs and issues for sure. I would love a Co-op zombie shooter again.

A new outbreak title would be amazing, since Outbreak 3 never got released and 1 and 2 lasted until like 2010 in japan for online.

Lets agree to disagree on this one. The game had so much potential but other wise failed in so many ways

This is going to be some military action game isn't it?

The last two main RE games (RE7, RE2 Remake) were successful right? Hope they aren't doing the dumb action stuff yet again.

I dont know, this could be good. Proper RE is single player, but I'd be up for an online multiplayer game so long as it's done in the right way. A modern version of the outbreak games would be great, a more subdued ORC could also work. It's all in the execution, and the RE engine has been great so far.

I loved the RE2 remake I think a multiplayer mode could work in that game, it's just it would be a different type of multiplayer than most others. In the past they've dicked about with how RE plays to suit multiplayer. What they should do is keep the style of gameplay in REmake2 and fit the concept of multiplayer around that. TLOU multiplayer works because they adapted the style of game and map design to suit the control, I don't see why Capcom can't go down that route.

I guess that this is a good time for an Outbreak game.

Can be made into chapters, so can be cheap. And if is on GamePass, people will play a lot

Capcom has been doing ok lately, I'm hyped. Even if it turns out to be an outbreak game, I have faith in them.

If it's Outbreak 3 I'd rather see adult characters defined by their jobs (cop, doctor, handiman...) like in File 1 & 2 rather than a bunch of high school kids... Looks like the notion of character roles is going to be totally lost and everyone is probably just going to be a carbon copy of each other besides aesthetics. Which means no tactics or puzzle solving, all running & gunning...

Capcom never dicked about "with how RE plays to suit multiplayer". First they introduced multiplayer in old-school RE with Outbreak, then later they introduced multiplayer in RE4 (= RE5), and in both cases the only thing they changed was the real-time inventory (which is something that should be in every game anyway) You can argue that RE4 changed the way RE played though.

What they should do is keep the style of gameplay in REmake2 and fit the concept of multiplayer around that. TLOU multiplayer works because they adapted the style of game and map design to suit the control, I don't see why Capcom can't go down that route.
Or they simply should keep evolving the mechanics of RE4/5/6 and bring back Mercenaries.

I'm both excited and worried about the prospect of a new Outbreak title.
Excited: It's a new Outbreak
Worried: They're going to make a loot grind out of it like most modern GaaS
