The first half of this Ars v Liv match has been pretty boring to watch. Arsenal getting pinned in and Liverpool just playing with useless crosses, hope this second half is more open.

Emery at it again. What a joke

To be fair, if Thierney and Bellerin were fit (and Pepe would have had a bit more experience in the PL) that tactic would have worked and we would have gotten that goal in the first half. From then on it would have been a completly different game.

So, I don't blame him for that. We would have lost the game anyway and it was good training for future confrontations. (Especially Pepe beginning to scare VVD like nobody has before. If that goal went in it would have been a permanent one). Sadly for once he had no real Plan B.

Spurs next week is going to be waay more important.

Btw: Passing Map for the game:

Not sure what's happened to De Gea, he never should have let that last goal in. Think the World Cup or United's shocker of a season last year is affecting him mentally.

Daniel James looks like a good work in progress, and hopefully the new look defense gels with time--Vidic and Evra were Godawful the first couple months, and then they were absolute class.

And please, just give Sanchez one more chance. It's gotta be better than throwing Greenwood into the fire this early......OK, maybe that's a stretch.

Some United fans I’ve seen are going crazy, but I’m relaxed. The way I see it is we still need a few more signings to even think about being where we want to be, and we would need some of our current younger players to improve in that time too. I’m generally happy with the way we are trying to play, it’s definitely more entertaining to see the team trying to win the ball back rather than just fall back to specific positions like we did under Mourinho and LVG.

My biggest irk is that I expect a little more from Luke Shaw, he isn’t attacking full backs anymore. And our players need to get in the damn box, we keep crowding the wings and cutting it back, playing it across to the other side etc. I would take Dalot playing on the right just to have somebody who can whip a cross and take on the opposing full back. But I am open minded with what I’ve seen so far, I enjoy the games more than under the past few managers.

Pepe missed lots of chances. If he just added some power in those shots he would've scored

What pissed me off is that there were better options to start the game with. Torreira and Kolasinac would've did a lot especially in that game

Guendouzi is soft and I still don't understand why Emery is relying on him this much! Its done now, we have to destroy the spuds next week!

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
That’s a wrong quote but I got you bruv. Let’s face it man, everything is based on Messi which is totally understandable. Without Messi there’s no clear plan

You want to convince me that Bilbao has a better team or strategy in general? Of course not! It’s just Barcelona doesn’t have a backup plan without Messi + the players haven’t stepped their game up even though they had possession. At the end of the day possession means nothing if you don’t score. Anyways, that’s just the first game week so let’s see how they’ll perform in the next one if Messi not playing
Are you convinced now Mista? There is a plan without Messi. But Bilbao countered us effectively. Betis couldn't.

Of course there’s a plan. It isn’t easier to execute without Messi though

Don’t take me seriously when I say no plan without Messi because it’s impossible in football

Lukaku to Inter, Sanchez on loan to Inter, Smalling on loan to Roma. United are really performing a teardown,

Get the kids in there, let'em get a taste of the Premier League and prepare for some lean years ahead.

Wow barca will get battered in the group stage. Sure they may squeeze through, but their players will be on their last legs.

Since nobody commented, yesterday's Juve - Napoli is one of the best and worst games I've ever seen. Juve was massive, creating chances, playing beautiful football and stifling Napoli at any turn and managed to score 3 goals while it could have gone to 4 or 5 to nothing.

And then, around the minute 60, the team shut down and had one of the most horrific collapses in football I've ever seen. Losing a 3 - 0 lead in 15 minutes is not something you do every day while our star signing De Ligt just decided to stop playing well and had three massive errors.

Thankfully, Koulibaly kinda forgot he's one of the best CB in the planet. Without any pressure and at the last minute of the game, he attempted a clearance from a cross that had absolutely nothing on it, and scored an own goal that would have qualified as goal of the month.

4 - 3, good win, and hope Juve never does the same again to me, my heart can't take it. :messenger_downcast_sweat:

Tottenham survived tonight. We would’ve screwed them if we had someone that could pass

A lot of arsenal fans are going to sadly be angry for a while now. We need a winning streak, Xhaka needs to sort himself out (and we do need to upgrade in the next few windows unless he manages to really take a step up)
and please never play Xhaka/Guendozi together again. Play either.

I don't know why Emery wants it so desperatly to work. It doesn't. One of em always looks or plays really shit.

Otherwise, yeah. It wasn't that bad a day.

If we had Ozil we would’ve destroyed them completely. Xhaka and Guendouzi will never work

I don’t like Xhaka anymore he’s very very sloppy

Yeah, as I said. At this point the only thing thats going to rescue him is a mistake free rest of the season coupled with success. If he doesn't manage that his Arsenal career is over.

I do think people underestimate his contribution in build up and passing, but that argument goes out the window with the mistakes. This was the last straw on those.

Exactly. Even I can’t use it as an excuse for him anymore

I'm just chuffed we beat Leeds yesterday lol. Top of the leeeeeague. May not last, but I'm enjoying it.

Good derby today. Never disappoints. Spurs definitely are happy VAR saved them from 2 losses already this season.

Peach of a goal to take liverpool to 3-1 against the toon. Mane is under rated as well. Top of the league still #unshakeable
Mane isn’t underrated. Mane needs to be more of a team player and stop being a prick

It’s always a competition between him and Salah that they both miss guaranteed goals. This bollocks needs to stop, they’re pros and not a school team kids.

They both do it tbh, but at least Mane is actually scoring 'big' and important goals at the minute. Norwich were outstanding tonight. City were poor - still managed two goals though...
