"Iceborne is one of the very best examples of how to produce paid content for a AAA game. It fixes almost all of World's issues, and adds so much to the package. It doesn't feel like an expansion; it feels like a sequel. A fantastic experience."

IGN
A true beast of an expansion, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne adds a boatload of impressive new and returning monsters and improvements to an already incredible game. It’s almost big enough to be a sequel in terms of the sheer amount of content it adds – even if it leans a little bit too heavily on Subspecies and Variants of familiar monsters at times (though that’s an issue veteran fans may not be bothered by as much). Iceborne is exciting and creative throughout, reiterating Monster Hunter: World’s place as one of the very best games of this generation.

There’s no more fussing about with new systems or worrying about ruffling the feathers of hardcore fans with a direction change in the series; those teething problems have already come and gone. Iceborne is a confident step into the future of the franchise, and it's hard not to think about what might come next.
4.5/5
Gamesradar
Between new monsters, added challenge, exciting build variety, and flashy new combos, Iceborne delivers a strictly better version of an already great game. Every Monster Hunter World fan should play Iceborne, and now more than ever, everyone and their dog should play Monster Hunter World.

Fantastic OT. Going into cryostasis until PC release, see you bros on the other side.

(I'm so glad Zin made it in, he's always one of my favorites. Hope he gets a turf war against weak-ass Tobi)

For sub-species monsters you left off ViperTobi-Kadachi, Coral Pukei-Pukei and Nightshade Paolumu.
Ruiner Nergigante is in a leaked achievement list.
Theres an unannounced final boss monster.
Rajang is the first DLC monster.

Side note - remember when people didnt think Iceborne would be worth the cost because they didnt think it would have enough monsters? Yeah, good times.

Oh nice, I didn't realize Yian Garuga was back. Happy that Rajang and Narga are also confirmed.

For an ice-themed expansion, it's a missed opportunity to include Gammoth. Hopefully they will be in the DLC...

Fuck you Capcom. This time i won't be double dipping and i will wait for PC version. No way i want to play in 25FPS and with those long loading times.

+ whanks to modding i won't need to care about timed events since i will be able to do them at my own leasure.

Okay, so this game got two consecutive 90+ Metacritic/Opencritic scores. Should I buy Iceborne and will it contain the original base game with it?

No it wont and you'll need to complete the original content to have a chance to touch the expansion.

If you never touched MHW then you missed out, my all time favorite MH game they added so many quality of life things to it from the single player versions.

I put nearly 300 hours into MHW prior to the expansion. You only need to get to HR 16 to hit the new content but you will definitely have a lot of hours of work in front of you prior.

If you haven't played the game then OMG FUCK YES GET IT + EXPANSION, just know this is a full-time job game not just a casual experience, be ready to devote hours to grinding the same monsters to collect resources for better armor/weapon upgrades.

So if you're like HR120+ and have tons of endgame equipment, is a significant portion of this expansion going to be easy mode?

Think of it like going from Low rank to High rank.
Oh, so it's more like end-end game content? If that's the case, then I probably have to buy it. I just assumed it would be some kind of progression that started out with newcomers being able to play in the new area and ended with the hardest content.

The beta was made to be so easy that I couldn't really gauge what to expect.

Nope. Low Rank > High Rank > Master Rank > End game

Apperently there is really really really cool mechanic working as end game that no one wants to spoil in their reviews because just how cool it is.

MHW had tempered monsters as endgame which imho was very very very very poor endgame.

Nope, Steam version delayed because of reasons. I'm sure nobody motivated Capcom financially to delay the PC version. No sir.

Steam version is not "delayed" it was never their intention to release it with consoles. While we could assume at start that they words about focusing on console launch were true and we sort of got updates a bit quicker that reduced wait time no way in hell they couldn't join codebase in a year time. In fact PC gets balancing and critical updates along with consoles which means they already have working codebase which also means they are literally sitting on content and delay it on purpose.

Imho they either want people to double dip (less probable) or they fear about piracy which is more probable. Still naturally idiotic considering just how much PC version sold.

I full expect that when MHW2 will hit 2021 PC version again will be released few months after console version.

I should have put "delayed" in quotation marks.

PC players tears are too good. See you in 6 months. 😘😘😘

My tears are only for those who will play in 25fps. I had to buy PS4Pro just because how shit normal PS4 version run.
With my 2011 PC i was able to play it at 1080p locked 60 aftef few details going to mid (which made no difference) and best part loadings were almost instant.

I am also a bit pissed that it's delayed so much. But after double dipping the first time around I just can't go back to PS4 pro :( the performance is just so much better. Since im not rank 💯 I'll do that and play some other games till then.

I'm so freaking excited for this I'm kind of surprised from the low count of responses compared to the success/popularity of the game.

How many folks out there are ready to jump in at launch?

Have it on my wishlist for when it hits Steam. Put several hundred hours into the existing game and loved every moment of it. In the meantime I'm still doing all the content in Generations Ultimate, and of course WoW Classic is vying for my time as well, so I'm not bothered by the delay for the PC release considering the gulf in performance and visuals between it and the console version.

Man these load times...

Been a while since I played MH was it always this bad or did it get worse? On PS4 pro here in max frame rate mode.

Nah Load times got worse by a ton, and man I went from farming Elders to taking 35 mins on a tobi the difficulty spiked like a mofo.

God DAMN!! This expansion feels like a whole other game.

I'm not far in, but the new monsters and the Hoarfrost zone are a lot of fun. The new armor and weapons though? Absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to get home so I can find out what the new Anjanath armor looks like (assuming there is new MR armor for it). Speaking of old monsters, holy shit have they been beefed up for Master Rank! Even slaying a friggin Pukei-Pukei took about 20 or so minutes with a rarity 9 weapon set.

There's so much to gush about with this expansion, from the monsters and mechanics to the music and art. With all of this love put into every detail, Iceborne is worth the cash.

I was a little worried that this OT is still a single page, but it looks like a lot of others besides me are holding out for the PC version, so that's a relief. The word of mouth so far that I've seen has been great.

Game's awesome, it's just that either a lot of you folks are on PC or y'all still glued to the gamepad.
