Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise announced for Switch; Deadly Premonition 1 available for Switch today

Xaero Gravity

NEXT LEVEL lame™
Microsoft ended the BC program for Xbox One at the moment, maybe they'll bring it back for next gen
DP is also already playable on XB1, it's just not available digitally anymore in North America so if someone is in that region they'll need a physical copy.

Edit: Whoops, double post

I love DP. I played through it 3 times and love every crazy second of it. Although I’m reserved at the thought of any devs ability to catch lightning in a bottle twice.

I’ll buy it and play it for sure. But the magic and mystery isn’t going to be there for a sequel. I would prefer a new IP.

Oddly tempting. Never got around to play the original. Am I right thinking Silent Hill style gameplay in an Alan Wake like setting? With an interesting story?

It's essentially a bastardized version of Silent Hill mixed with RE4. You can pick up melee weapons, but you'll never use them. There's also QTE events whenever Raincoat Bro shows up.

I'm interested, but I heard the game has some performance issues. Hopefully they'll iron them out soon. I'm probably getting the physical release in November.

Very cool. I really liked the first DP. It made me laugh and kept me engaged throughout, despite how awful it was in some ways. I am surprised that it's exclusive to the Switch.

The atmosphere is more like Twin Peaks than Silent Hill, although the gameplay (movement, exploration) is similar to Silent Hill. But the atmosphere, characters and story are much more Twin Peaks than Silent Hill or Alan Wake. It's more bizarre and head-scratchingly nuts, rather than "scary" or serious. It has an odd sense of humor and the characters are bent, but not necessarily in a "survival horror" type way. You do shoot zombies with a crappy control scheme, though, so it's like Silent Hill in that regard.

The thing about DP is that it is the very definition of "so bad it's good". I don't see how they (or anyone, for that matter) could, intentionally, recapture that 'quality'
It'll still have that Swery charm and quirkiness, however.. so there's that.

This is still the most insane announcement for me to see coming gaming wise. I was screaming in excitement and suprise considering I've been replaying this game for the month and then this coming out of nowhere. Truly got to love there's still some suprises in the gaming scene to show why we love this scene even through the madness.
