welp, that was an interesting ending...
I wonder how they can continue from here, besides the obvious cliffhanger, since it was left up to player choice who dies. I wonder if it’ll pull a Mass effect with Gears 6 and the choice you make is reflected or if one of the in-game choices will be treated as an alternate ending. I mean coalition likes making extended lore with comics and novels ala halo so will they choose a proper ending or whats going?

Multiplayer matches boot me mid match. This is sad .... the gunplay does feel much nicer than Gears 4 for sure though. I am digging the overall gameplay improvements. Karak is scaring me about the plot but I guess I personally enjoyed Gears 1 way more than Gears 4 plot.

Ill definitely say that adding bots to horde was a fantastic move, its so much nicer doing solo runs without getting creamed at waves 7-10 over and over again.
Well im not surprised. The servers are still probably not at full steam just considering this just early access with only, like, 5% or so of the launch population.

Yep very weird to me. Went through the tutorial and got to the part of using the chainsaw and found myself using the now dedicated melee button. Going to take some getting used to.

I like how more weapons are useful, but I'm noticing insanely weird and spastic wall bouncing in maps like Exhibit because of the tight halls. I don't mind an element of it, but it grows really old really fast.
Overall the gameplay tuning/balancing seems to favor more coordinated crossfires and map control than Gears 4 did. Overall it ends up being a better feeling game. Not sure about the lack of classic maps though, but the old maps were designed around execution and warzone.. and this game ignores those entirely =\

It's a pretty common thing to do on PC. Why wouldn't you want to get into your game faster? Maybe doesn't seem like much time for a single session, but over the course of days, weeks, months... I mean, why get an SSD over HDD? For me, the biggest reason is to start Windows and programs faster, and to cut down on loading times. It all adds up, and it's one of the reasons I don't game on console much except for exclusives, tbh. Sorry, slight rant. Lol

2 Destruction Why can't I destroy couches? A few steps forward, a few steps back it feels.
3 Reticles/Active Reloads Do they need to change these every single game? Active reload is the start.... no its the end... okay this one how about the middle?
The gun reticles are just odd as well, I don't get why they need to change them so much.

You could try Gears 5, Metro Exodus, the new Blair Witch game and many others (not to mention the possible release of Halo).

In my experience the Xbox app is just as broke as the Microsoft Store app...it’s a way slicker interface but I think they both have the same busted back end.

The beta app is still tied to the store so any suggestion to use it "instead" isn't valid. The beta Xbox app on pc still uses the Windows store for updates and downloads. If the store is buggy for you the beta app will be no better.
Which is really disappointing because the windows store is a fucking disaster

Played a couple of matches, couldn't load into a hive match, and starting campaign solo now. It's Gears all right.
It keeps saying I have a supply drop. So. How the fuck do I find where my supply drop is? Is it just useless cosmetic shit? If so don't bother. Haven't tried Horde yet, so I don't even know if Horde cards are still a thing.

Played for about two hours this morning and I’m really enjoying the campaign so far.
I’ve dabbled in the MP and what I’ve played I like. I have had issues with staying connected to the servers and experienced some weird bugs, especially trying to play Escape. Anyone else having problems with horde or escape? Regular multi just takes a couple of minutes to match and load.

The hours I spent resetting Windows and fucking around with trying to delete old folders with inherited permissions the other day can attest to that. It’s fucking stupid. Steam? No problem pointing to existing installs and just working like a normal program. Window Store/Xbox App? Weird error codes, broken download resumes, etc. for days and days.
Some minor registry error breaks the whole thing. It’s a piece of shit, but also the only way to play without an Xbox so meh.

It's insane to me that the windows store is still as abysmal as it is, feels like the POS hasn't improved since start.
Gamepass for pc is very cool but it's tie to the turd windows store will limit its audience significantly.
I've had the beta app / store (not sure which was the culprit) delete all my saves for Mutant Year Zero which was my first introduction to how badly things can go wrong with PC gamepass.

I’m not sure how I feel about those levels. They aren’t bad at all, I mean it’s cool. It’s just, I don’t want to replay them. I kinda liked the old linear levels because you can replay on insane and just get to the action. Skating around on a skiff feels tedious the second time because of the way it slows the game down.
