After a few days lurking around here, this place seems to be getting some of its charm (and traffic?) back and I think I'll call it my internet home again, at least for a while. Be nice if gaming communities picked up again, but hey, can't have everything
Welcome back :)

I couldn't resist and took the "Return to Arkham" 2 weeks ago. First time playing the serie and now Asylum will soon enter the small club "Games I like so much that I've Platinum them" composed of Dark Souls 1, Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Looking forward for City and Knight (thx PSplus). And maybe later Origins.

In between I should also finish Dragon age Origins...

Had been in between games for a while...

Played through Sniper Elite 4 on PS4 (PS+ August)
After that I started up Horizon Zero Dawn again, and completed New Game+ on ultra hard, to pick off the last two remaining trophies.

Spiderman on PS4.

Really liking it so far. It's a fairly standard sandbox and you can definitely see it has been heavily inspired by Batman. But almost everything it does feels polished and fun , and it does a great job making you feel like Spiderman. Between the city actually being populated and the random crimes you can stop it also feels way more like a superhero game than any of the batman ones.

Only parts I would have been fine without are the MJ and Miles ones. Those crappy forced stealth sections add nothing to the game

Currently playing wow classic and am enjoying it. Not okaying with the sane people that I played vanilla with but am playing with the same people that I played burning crusade with.

I'm going to spend some time trying a build in Path of Exile's Blight League, which is going to release in about 30 minutes. That should take up a majority of the weekend.

I've also set up Dolphin (Gamecube/Wii Emulator) to re-play the Super Mario Galaxy games in FullHD, which i haven't replayed in at least two years. Last i did was on my original Nintendo Wii, but i'm not going to re-connect that system. I want to replay a large portion of these two games to reassess my general opinion on them. And after that, i want to check Super Mario 3D World out in its entirety; This and Odyssey are the only Mario games i haven't played, and that's not good. Time to fix that soon enough.

In light of the UPlay+ trial I decided to start a play through of AC Odyssey since I've been wanting to play it, but not badly enough to pay for it. Has impressive character models. I don't like the horse riding as much as TW3. As usual mobility is great, but the combat is just average. Voice acting is pretty good. That's about all I can say so far.

Bought Assetto Corsa in the summer sales on PSN and love it!

The sound is so good it makes me wonder why GT Sport sounds so awful!

Finished Resident Evil 7, the ending fell off a little but great game overall, don't think I'll try the DLC since they don't look that good. Playing enter the gungeon now.

I was going to start playing the God of War games again (1, 2, 3 and PS4 GoW) ... but I finally got into Doom 2016 on PC, so this is what I'm playing.

So I've had the Splinter Cell series in my backlog for a very long time and finally decided to give it a go. Mission 4 (CIA building) in part 1 one now.

I honestly do not remember when I had this much fun with a stealth game. I usually do not like this trial and error approach but it's just fun here for some reason. Game design matters! What a jewels of a game.

Is the Xbox version of Pandora Tomorrow playable on the 360? I've seen that the game isn't properly working on PC and hard to get in general (not on Steam) so I might get the Xbox version for the 360 if it works.

Played a bunch of Out Run 2 on Xbox last night with friends and I finally got to Ghost Forest (Stage 4/5) for the first time. :lollipop_weary: I've been using the Intermediate 360 Spider, but I think I might switch down to the Novice class for the superior acceleration. My old Saturn disc drive finally broke and so I was Saturn-less for a few weeks while I waited for a Japanese one to arrive (I own exactly zero NTSC-region Saturn games). I was deliberately trying to play less Saturn because I was engulfed in it, but now I'm back in deep. Magical Drop III, Fatal Fury 3, and the port of Waku Waku 7, most recently. Saturn isn't too bad as a poor man's Neo Geo. I'm in an arcade mood this weekend so I'm also playing through the story-mode content for Tekken 7 and some Dragon Ball Fighter Z, plus more Daioujou of course. Bravely Default is still holding my interest (it's actually what I"m playing now as I browse GAF from my outside porch).

Yes, it's listed as compatible.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
SONY last gen was known as a shooter console, it's obsession with story games this gen has been a major failure, IF you're a fan of shooters.

...What? PS3 was definitely not known as the "shooter" console. That was 360 by a mile. PS3 was considered more of a JRPG console than anything.

Socom, Mag etc. Sony didn’t stop there, Uncharted 1-3 (simply outstanding), Resistance 1-3 than Killzone comes in with two AAA games, we never saw that many shooters on one console in a long long time.

Far Cry: New Dawn
What must have happened here is that Ubisoft liked the Mad Max game and decided to make something that has the same pace and general mood. They copied Annihilation's animals and recycled Primal's gameplay but with guns. And then the Mad Max guys made Rage 2, which is the same game as New Dawn except unpolished and with better combat.
I hope I finish it before the Uplay+ trial expires. There seems to be a lot of content.

Well they've always had teams that have liked making good stories. Its just clear that last gen with MAG and Socom 4 they just didn't knock it out of the park and clearly GG wanted to move on from Killzone, to be fair we still got Killzone SF, but like Resistance, some teams just want a break and need to move on. That was happening in Sony and even outside of them from other teams.

Sure, I'd want a Resistance 4 by Insomniac as they also work on Spiderman 2, but I'm also ok with them just moving on if they feel just. Even as much as I want a new Socom titles ,those days are just over

...Which are still a drop in the ocean of JRPGs that were on the system.

I've been playing a bit of the original Diablo, and while it's no Path of Exile, the addictive nature of its loot based design is intact - to my surprise. It's definitely 23 years old, there's no Quality of Life features you could possibly expect, it runs at 20 FPS and it's simplistic. The atmosphere though, is quite something else. It's incredibly good. The soundtrack, sound design and gothic inspired artstyle create this .. foreboding horror in the back of your mind. Sort of like Dark Souls, and it's quite reminiscent of that game due to its difficulty. I recommend a purchase off GOG.com for sure.

Ion Fury, Shantae & the Pirate’s Curse, and Mega Man Legacy Collection.

I put Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on hold but might get back to it if the mood strikes.

Gears 5, would be great but I only play single player and the a.i is a sack of crap.
Also buggiest game I’ve played for a while.

DQ Builders 2 is hopefully next.

I bought wwe 16 wrestling for PS4 yesterday. £4 nice my kid really wanted it.

“ are you ok that this game is a 16” looking at my 5 year old.

“Yes”. (Wrestling is for kids, I was a kid once and I liked wrestling so I know this to be true).

Booted it up, John cena starts floating backwards towards Andre the giant and wouldn’t control at all.

After laughing our asses off we noped out and I downloaded the update. Haven’t tried it yet but that was not a good first impression.

Shooter games are in the business forever, Playstation gamers deserve a AAA shooter every generation so it's nice to see Gears thrive.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
Playing REmake 2 now. Incredible game so far. But the controls could have been better. Using the L3 to run doesn't sit well with me. I'd rather they used a separate button for running, like the original. Or simply used the analog nature of the stick, to determine how fast you move. But other that, amazing game.

Playing Ni No Kuni 2 right now, really enjoying it. I'm about 15 hours in, unless it just falls apart at the end I'm not getting all the complaints this game got.

I got through it, even got the platinum, but I really had to force myself. It's such a big step back from the original. I really wish they didn't feel like they had to ditch turn-based combat for that crappy system in 2.

I’m too addicted to Total Warhammer. I was trying to play Age of Wonders Planetfall and it just ended in me playing Total War two days in a row until 3 am so I’m going to take a break from strategy games to get it out of my system. Maybe do dlc tombs in Shadow of the Tomb Raider while I wait for Gears 5 to release.

but original game wasn't turn based, it was something similar to White Knight Chronicles combat system. The 1st games was harder but in my opinion for a wrong reason, in that game I was mostly struggling to keep my party alive rather than fighting the boss because the AI is really dumb.

I am currently hooked, once again, on Minecraft. I'll probably play it for a couple of weeks and then lose interest for a couple of months, it's been like that since the beta release. It's always great to return to the game after a while, because cool new stuff gets added all the time. I am now sharing a realm with a few friends, hopefully this one will be more successful than previous attempts.

On Switch, I dived back into Breath of the Wild and only have seven shrines left to find, but oh boy, is it hard without guides and stuff. It was only after 111 shrines that I turned on the shiekah sensor to find more, and so far I only found one (!) using it. Besides that, I am constantly playing the Mana Collection, SNES VC and Ace Attorney trilogy. Good stuff.
