The last sliver of delicious info we got was during a GameStop event, where attendees were treated to new gameplay footage, which has yet to be made public. At the time, the Twitter account that leaked the news assured that we'll be able to see the footage "soon," so with any luck it'll be featured at this month's media event. All that's been revealed about the footage so far is that it focused on stealth gameplay and "using Clickers to your advantage."
The event lines up nicely with "Outbreak Day," which Naughty Dog celebrates every year on the anniversary of the release of The Last of Us, September 26. Seems to me it's as good a time as ever to announce an official release date, although plenty of evidence already exists that points to a February 2020 release window.

I have no doubt this will be a good game, but I really don't see Game of the Generation stuff unless ND significantly changed their approach to game design. Uncharted 4 felt dated as fuck the second it came out. We'll see what kind of crazy things they will do with TLOU 2, but more of the same won't result in an upper echelon work.

Just do the challenges. Making all the alternate colors come in the more expensive loot boxes is bullshit though. You want new costumes yet you just keep unlocking more colors.I just hope they don’t fill it with loot boxes like Uncharted 4. I was okay with it in the beginning cause I could unlock something every second or so match then they made it take 10 or so matches to unlock something.

At least when people criticize XBOX it's usually something substantial...….Their lack of games, the quality of their games and graphics not being as good, their live service being down often...…….Hell, I'm playing Gears on PC right now and the windows store is so convoluted...…..Game bar needs work when you want to do certain captures with it...….In essence, MS is right now more than XBOX, but people are still cooped up in the box.....When MS launches Xcloud, the stakes will go even higher, there will be a lot of responsibility to keep things going smoothly across their eco-system......Boasting about, they did Windows, Direct X and that they have Azure won't cut it......Their console OS and XBOX companion app, still needs lots of work...….
This is opposed to someone going to the bottom of barrel to criticize a game just because the main character is a Lesbian. it's unfathomable...….How is that a valid complaint to make a case in a one liner, you'll never hear me going '"the main character of Gears is a woman.....Lesbians are humans too......His outburst was quite revelatory to how he sees the world and reacts to it tbh......Having lesbian mains is not the biggest issue with gaming at the moment or the world, not even close.....

Not looking forward to the inevitable downgrade, and if there isn't one I'll wonder if they are showing PS5 gameplay or if it will downgrade closer to release anyway... but if they manage that animation fidelity while not impacting playability and show more dynamic melee, dodging, and other new maneuvering mechanics I could cope with a bit of a downgrade.
What I really want is them to add more interactive and natural elements to use as weapons or distractions instead of the environment being littered with bricks and bottles.
Also more enemy variety and making the clickers more interesting encounters than instant death if they catch you without a shiv.

I find it good as it is. You aren’t prepared? Get punished. One of the greatest aspects I loved in TLoU is that it gave me really good survival awareness. Always be prepared, always expect anything.

Was there any downgrade in the UC series though? I remember UC1 was improved from the initial trailer, UC2 definitely lived up to that first E3 trailer and even improved, UC3 was a tour de force in graphics, so the same here......And UC4 matched the initial trailer...and no "pun intended", I'm not from Gaming Bolt, it's still arguably the best looking game this gen amongst others......Definitely top 3 material....Was there lots of noise on downgrades? And how did that conversation pan out?

I do remember seeing some images of the Uncharted games' E3 trailers compared to their full release versions where they changed the lighting and environment in some way but I rarely pay attention to this stuff when I'm actually playing the game. Certainly there's never been a downgrade like Ubisoft's Watch Dogs.

I did say I will play it when it comes out, just that the setting (what they have shown so far fwiw) does not really interest me that much.

Across the games some elements got better while others got worse. A fair trade in most instances but what comes to mind is the infamous Chloe in the bus cinematic lighting change in UC2, and most notably UC4 not matching the initial trailer, in neither frame rate, lighting/material or model density. UC4 received additional shadow and other subtle downgrades from the first gameplay trailer. TLOU also did not achieve the initial trailer or the first scripted gameplay.
Generally, I've noticed other "downgrades" across their titles from subtle lighting and model fidelity changes because they seem to like to crank the engine to max LOD shadows and details for previews and slowly cut back with each showing. But I could say the same for almost all devs, ND just gets closer to their initials in most cases.
I can forgive it somewhat with new engines and beginning of gens but at this point it ticks me off that so many games are still shown off with obviously unachievable detail, lighting, etc. and then downgraded for launch. Devs have mature tools and enough experience this gen to know what is achievable so when they show shit that looks too good to be true it's not cause they naively think it's possible it's because they want to drum up early hype with unrealistic visuals like it's a fucking Big Mac commercial (I'm looking right at you: The Coalition, CDPR, and soon ND). Nintendo is the only one doing it right.
That said, UC4 remains a contender for best and most consistently good graphics of the gen next to RDR2, The Order and AC.
