Destiny 2 |OT3| The Token King

Yea I never had any intention of bothering with that shit. It’s easier to just replay heroic 5x, and more fun...

I don’t mind that it’s there. As long as it doesn’t unlock touch of malice I’m good

Hey all. Very late to the party but I'm just getting into Destiny 2. Now that I have a solid feel for how things work, I'm curious to see if there are any active GAF clans I can jump into? I'm currently playing on the PS4 but I also plan on getting the Forsaken upgrade for the PC version as well for that sweet sweet 60FPS and keyboard/mouse control. Anyway, any advice and direction is most appreciated. Thanks!

Leatherface Leatherface feel free to add me psn is same as username here. Have a clan, but it’s pretty ghost townish atm but there is a small group that still plays, maybe next dlc won’t suck and folks will stick around more then a week or two

Vertigox86 on psn here. My clan is full at the moment. About a dozen active players who I don’t play with tho. I appreciate the enhancement cores however...

Menagerie is pretty cool. So performance during the event scales difficulty. The arrangement of encounters doesn’t seem to be the same run to run.

The space itself is pretty huge. Larger than a raid lair and it includes the leviathan’s exploration gimmicks.

Looking for new clan on PC. I took a break from the game and returned to a lot of new content. I haven’t run any of the D2 raids. Mostly a PVE guy but that could change in a few months. Same handle on Blizz.

Not sure what or if there are folks looking to find others to p,ay with on PS4, but my group and I are looking for more folks to play with. Really looking for others who want to raid without going lfg and praying for good luck.

HMU here, drop me a friend request (Dthomp), maybe we can see if there is a PS4 group to resurrect around here

former player here, used to play on PS4 and left after Osiris. now with the departure from Activision and the upcoming "reboot", I decided to hop back. but not sure if I want to spend money right now (kinda broke). how far can I go without buying Forsaken? I played a little the other day and got to 335ish light. would I be able to progress any further?

So guys, i'm a bit confused. I played a little of Destiny 2 when i got it on Humble Bundle, and was nice play with friends, but the heat end quickly. Right now the game is almost out on Steam and i probally gonna get again, but someone already know if Forsaken is coming on Steam too, or even in this year? I'm really need to know, because i'm thirsty for new multiplayer games by now.

Pvp is all free and will be indefinitely. The pinnacle pvp reward weapons, which are atop the meta mostly, should be earnable with base game.

HOWEVER. Forsaken is a must. Better than taken king. You will also want weapons with random perks and I’m not sure how much of the year 1 loot table has year two reworks.

Forsaken also comes with the first two year 1 expansions. Not sure if the “complete collection “ you mentioned includes the annual pass.

Annual pass isn’t a must. Supplementary end game content. However I do encourage it. You want those weapons. And menagerie is the best matchmade activity in destiny to date.

Fourth surprise dungeon drop incoming for bad juju... it won’t be timed this time however. Rumored to be more similar to shattered throne than zero
Hour/whisper

The f2p version of the game is said to include all old and new strikes, pvp, all planetary zones (“over time”), gambit, gambit prime (confirmed). It will also include all content from year 1.

While you be able to explore year 2 and 3 locations in the f2p version like the tangled shore, dreaming city and the moon... you will not have access to their activities, story content, raid content or loot.

I'm not having a good time. And don't know why. Ever since i got recluse and mountaintop i've been feeling burned out. And every quickplay match is sweaty. Comp is a shit show.
I'm 2 tributes away from the bad juju catalyst. And the triumphs i can complete will be slog. And force me to use gear i don't want to.

The road to recluse and mountaintop broke me.

Hey all, I haven't played this game in quite a while, but I'm going to get back into it when it goes to Steam. Did Bungie ever implement a console/PC cross save system so I don't have to start from scratch on PC?

Not yet, they're working on it. There was some long downtime a week (or two?) ago that was meant to be prep work for cross save.

Ah, cool. I made a new warlock in the meantime to reacquaint myself with the game. Ended up getting drawn back in.

Man it's amazing how good this game is, but how bad their business decisions pushed me away from it. The game is still an absolute joy to play.

I do find the 60FPS of PC a little off-putting. The 30FPS of consoles make the game feel more cinematic. It almost feels "cheap" with the framerate increase. I noticed it less and less the longer I played though, I'm sure it's just bias of hundreds of hours on PS4 across Destiny 1 and 2.

Initially I bounced off the game hard after the main campaign but came back for Forsaken. A lot of things have improved and are on the way to improving. Freedom from the icy grips of Activision seems promising so far, but I can't absolve Bungie of some of the past choices!
You could cap to 30FPS if you wanted but I have very different preferences when it comes to FPS :) You might possibly have some residual feeling of "oh this looks like video on a cheap camcorder @ 60FPS. Yuck.", perhaps ?

Yea I'm excited to see where it goes with Bungie self publishing, for sure. That said, a lot of the shitty decisions supposedly came directly from Bungie, so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Also, yea I won't cap to 30 FPS, it was just really jarring coming from so many hours of 30 FPS to now having 60. The game plays really well with the extra framerate, I'm just used to seeing things differently. I'm sure it'll just be a few more days and I'll be acclimated.

I really like what they did with all the various menu improvements, and the collection tab is amazing. I had no idea they implemented that. Seems like inventory is no longer a concern which is awesome. I also like the new feats stuff. What do you do with the points you get from feats? Just collect or can you spend them on something?

Man, PvP in this game is just frustratingly trash. No balanced matchmaking whatsoever so solo queue is straight cancer, and game balance itself is just completely nonexistent, just insane range one hit deaths from fusion rifles and shotguns all day. Suffered through it long enough to get Recluse from Comp but sometimes it's just exhausting to play. Fuck I miss Halo.

Also, most recent patch broke something major for me, getting insane random mouse stutter now where the FPS will be fine but mouse input will be all fucked up and choppy for 5-10 seconds and then fix itself randomly.

Just queue up the non-team one (Slayer?) and AFK through the games. They go quick (5 min each?) and you're not ruining it for anybody else.

Loooooooooool Comp Crucible in this game is such ass-fucked retarded trash, why do I keep doing this to myself lmfao

Lose a match because some cunt is abusing Lord of Wolves, re-queue, and it fucking puts us in a 3 v 4 game. As in we didn't even get a 4th teammate.

In any competent PvP game, that would have immediately invalidated the match, but nope, Bungie's Crucible team is straight dipshit trash apparently and didn't think of that one.

Fucking fuck

So I guess I've hit the level cap of 30 for the base game now. Anyone know maximum light you can get at that level? I'm guessing softcap of 350ish?

I'll probably end up buying some expansions when the game drops on Steam officially, I've really been having fun again. I do miss playing with my friends, but they've all moved on and play on PS4 still. I was really hoping they did something about skill builds and classes, but apparently not. Warlock still plays exactly like it did on release, as far as I can tell.

After a round of infusing my gear with exotics I got up to 725 so figured I'd try the Menagerie. Can't see why people were hyping this so much, just run to room, do a random thing until time runs out or u "win". Guess the making your own gear thing can be cool if u wanna put the time into unlocking all the upgrades. Considering I've been using the same few items since forsaken came out thats not really my thing.

I'd rather do strikes (or nightfall if they had match making) then this mode.

Every now and then you get a comp Crucible game where nobody is using Lord of Wolves and it is so wonderfully fun. And then you get a game where the entire enemy team has it and you remember that Luke Smith literally doesn't care about Crucible

What a shitty developer

This is the reason I don’t really play much anymore and why I won’t be buying any more expansions til they address the biggest problem with this game. Crucible is HOT trash, it just goes from bad to worse too. Honestly, they don’t seem to care at all about it, and it’s a big reason that the player base is less then 10% of the actual sold quantities of d2. Shame it’s so bad

LOL 3 matches in a row I get matched up against a 6 stack. Won 2 of them, but the 3rd one was full of a bunch of trashcan tryhards with Lord of Wolves lmfaooo

This game's dumpster fire of a matchmaking system is so pathetic

Don't share that opinion on the hivemind that lives on the bungie forums. Everything from top to bottom of PVP needs a rebuild, going to sixes fixed nothing when they did nothing to bring forward enough sized maps for it. Now we are playing on maps for 4s with gun TTK made for much larger maps, along with the insane amount of super duration. Like this game needs a complete overhaul for PVP to be even halfway decent in my eyes.

Absolutely. 6v6 plays like a fucking mess on these maps, and the supers are so overpowered it's stupid.

Probably gonna drop Crucible like a bad habit once MCC lands on PC lol

Not a bad call, I've actually just gone back to playing D1, much better experience for what I want out of a Destiny game. Wish I could find a new PVP game to get into (Not a huge PVP fan TBH) that would have that D1 feel while having it done by a company that actually cares about keeping its game playable

That's where I'm at except I love PvP games in general. Looking for a crispy feeling FPS to play. The simple fact that Lord of Wolves STILL hasn't been fixed is all the empiric proof I need that Bungie doesn't give two shits about the quality of their PvP mode.

Battlefield V was supposed to be my main shooter timesink but if Destiny's PvP is a dumpster fire, Battlefield V is an entire flaming landfill lol, DICE has no idea what the fuck they're doing this gen so MCC is my last hope for a good MP shooter on PC.

Yeah I'm on a break from PVP, and luckily LOW isn't too crazy on console (It's still dumb), but it further shows there is no quality control team overlooking the PVP sandbox. It took DAYS to nerf Prometheus Lens but LOW is fine? Like if there is something wrong that effects a PVE mode that like 5% of the population plays they put the focus there as apposed to PVP because....reasons? I would argue that PVP being this bad for basically the entire length of Destiny 2 is a big reason that the playerbase died as fast as it did. D1 PVP while crazy and broken at times kept people coming back, D2 almost every player I know or played with gave up on PVP almost immediately or just bailed on the game entirely.

2 games in a row we lose a 30+ point lead because the other team just starts chaining these neverending skill-less 1 hit kill triple armor roaming supers lmfaooooo

God I just want a skill-based and balanced PvP game without this casual hand-holdy bullshit. Can't believe Bungie assfucked the Crucible this hard.

Bottom tree striker is ridiculous. I feel dirty when i use it. Bungie should have nerfed it a long time ago. This is something i hate about bungie. They let broken stuff run rampant for way too long.

By the way, the lord of wolves tweak was barely a nerf.

Lord of Wolves meta didn’t really affect console.

I think I can get Not Forgotten. Or I’ll come close thanks to the extended season.

Finally played Crown of Sorrow last night. I really enjoyed it as a raid. Ghalran encounter was very Oryx-like but... better? I even had to use a titan bubble. Heh

A team of my buddy and I and a bunch of randoms, and most of which it was their first time. Took a couple of hours but it was an overall solid experience. These D2 raids have a bit more polish compared to the first game. The rules just seem... clearer

Gonna give Scourge a run later today. I want the 2019 title.

Edit: scourge beat... title got...

Been thinking about crown of sorrow... really enjoyed it. Looking forward to giving it another go

I started playing like a warlock again - I let him sit at 600 like three or four months ago - and man, I wrecked havoc yesterday
Around 6-7 hours without ever dying, and God only knows how many enemies i pulverized, probably more than my hunter and Titans usually do, and combined lol
I'm still pretty shitty with sunblade, what is actually good about it?
But playing with the new void class, or with the arc class in general is incredible
You either go Sith and start electrifying people like there's no tomorrow, being almost unkillable ( a monster in pvp) or go full god of Destruction Beerus with the new void subclass and start hakai-ing baddies, with Destruction energy

Warlocks are awesome

I have yet to even complete vanilla with my warlock and I’m inching towards 1000hrs at this point. Dawnbkade is a beast in PvP but warlock is pretty effective in general. The dawnbkade ability well is relied on in every edgame activity however.

Everyone bitches about bottom tree Stryker Titan being super op in PvP and it is. Pretty much broken ... however. Middle tree sentinel is the best by far. Suppressor grenades shut down supers and detonators are incredible in everything. And... the giant defensive shield blocks hunter blade barrage spam successfully. I can fight and take out any super with it.

And because supers are a problem in PvP. They do come way to frequently and are hard to kill Close range. I’ve been relying on sniper headshots to take them out, or inazagi’s burden with the 4x damage boost. But still ... it’s insane

Well... in 6v6. I do not like 6v6 as much as 4v4. Actually love comp but because it’s score tracked I’m looking forward to the new smaller playlists.

Actually, I’m looking forward to all the announced sandbox changes for PvP. I finished the IB and redrix claymore grind just last night ... and I never want to play 6v6 again.

It’s one of the top 10 games on Xbox Live... still.

I think we’re on the verge of it becoming huge. Especially the more I here how much content is in new light... even the forges, reckoning and menagerie it seems!?

Came to post that all Forsaken owners get the annual pass for free on September 17.

So I’ve been doing A LOT of handcanon testing on console.

Been trying out multiple Spare Ration godrolls. It’s a toss up between my rapid hit, moving target/ range masterwork vs subsistence, rangefinder stability masterwork.

I was like “wow this thing is pretty awesome.”

Spare Rations feels like thorn. As I was running that as my primary for quite awhile too. Thorn and One-Eyed Mask, near-max mobility Titan is an excellent aggressive playstyle.

Took a break for a few days so I started to lose my grip on the Spare Rations’ bloom and flick shooting.

Then I was watching some new handcanon vid about bloom and rpm differences on console vs pc because the conversation about what is best is a bit muddled.

After watching that... gave austringer a shot again. Had one stashed with a range masterwork, decent barrel option, accurizsd rounds, outlaw, and rangefinder

I just want to say... most devastating hand canon in the game.

Best handcanon I’ve used. I still mostly got the best pvp performance out of Luna’s Howl this season still but that god roll austringer is actually far more effective in just a handful of games. My KD just skyrocketed game to game so the proof is in the pudding.

Too bad the sandbox is changing in like two weeks so it’s a bit late for this discovery :messenger_neutral:

Of vanilla or Forsaken? I’m curious how vanilla campaign goes with the latest sandbox and with all the updates.

What’s funny about forsaken ... I knew a lot of people that know idea the dreaming city was a thing for quite awhile.

They’re changing that with new light tho but still... it was thug I guess

Weapons mods will no longer be consumables. They will be unlocks that can be swapped at any time now. Those mods will work just like the armor mod perks.

Nice little change. Now I can switch off targeting adjuster as my default Crucible mod and toy around with others options without fear of losing the previously installed one

I think you need them currently in your inventory or to reacquire for them to be upgraded to the new system. If already installed on your weapon you may need to reacquire.

People are saying to just keep one weapon mod in your inventory.
