Is Ellie from “The last of us: Part ii” on steroids??

I had to replay twice to make sure who in this shot was. I seriously hope there is a backstory to how she managed to get those side delts, traps like Bane and a solid upper back. I don't think its naturally possible for a female to achieve this much muscle density at all. Look at Olympia fitness competitors, even they are not this dense and defined. This is post apocalypse universe . Unless, im missing something, i was absolutely dumbfounded by this design choice.

I mean look at this:

Looks like she has been hitting those chin up bars and dumbbells more than she's been playing guitar.

Edit: Added my 10+ years of grueling workout progress in comparison to Ellie's. I wish i had Ellie's freaky genetics. I clearly should add swinging baseball bats and mashing clickers to my workout regiment.

I’m trying to allow for the possibility of being physically pushed to survive every day in a world like that, that it might actually be a good thing that she looks like she can play the part she’s going to.

There’s a complaint about 90 pound girls throwing men around unrealistically, so it’s somewhat interesting to see this addressed.

But, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. There’s weird gender stuff going on in pop culture in general right now, courtesy of the usual suspects, and this just seems a further extension of that.

This is a more what I’d expect from a heroine in peak condition, forced to survive. Not turning into a hulking man.

Era: OMG THEY ARE NOW SHOWING NUDITY! CENSOR THIS SH--- Oh, it's Sony! No need to censor this as it is made in America!

I thought it was someone else at first....but not sure if this implies she was raped or not if her top is off but not her bottom half.

There are many women with powerful arms and backs out there who look something like that (and more). I think we can agree Ellie has led a very challenging life physically in that world, and in her many boring hours of down time (not like they have TV and videogames, ya know?) perhaps she WAS hitting some dumbbells and parallel bars to get as strong as possible.

In fact, grown-up Ellie looks about the same as Tess in the first game, maybe even a bit smaller.

I think maybe people are looking for things to be mad about -- at least wait for the game to come out.

I mean, her body is certainly developing, but I personally wouldn't go so far to say it looks like she's using steroids. She has practically grown up while the world was falling apart. When you're brought up in a world that revolves around constant survival I'm sure everyone would be in great shape. At least those that have survived and want to continue to.

Looks like a perfectly fine young healthy boy.

Wut? It absolutely is. Even forget pro athletes 10x more swole than this. Do you know any women who competitively lift locally? This is almost baseline. I know a few who have been screened.

So many people nowadays are obese that an actual fit woman looks like steroids to us lol

im usually one of the first to call out things but I’m just not seeing it as far as the body shape. Now if she starts body slamming dudes that are double her size with ease then she may just be on steroids. Lol.

but as far just body shape it seems in line with what I would imagine we would develop back into without all the fast food and high amounts of sugar intake we have. Then add in extreme activity levels and a return to true fight or flight responses.

Seems fair enough to me, as Lesbians often have higher amounts of testosterone than normal for women, broader shoulders and narrower hips makes sense.

Would actually be cool if they went to the effort to model her ring fingers being noticably longer than her index fingers too, as thats another obvious sign of elevated testosterone exposure in the womb and significantly more common with lesbians.

The only thing I'd say is unrealistic is how well nourished she looks.

A post apocalyptic society where food is harder to come by and life is a constant fight for survival, isn't exactly the best environment for the protein and calories needed for bodybuilding. She should really be more wiry and guant looking. More a hungry, long distance, stamina focused athlete than gym scultped powerhouse.

Eh ! I like the jab you threw, but i've been lifting for 10 years ( can prove if you need ) but i can tell when i see an enhanced bodybuilder to a ''natty'' one. In this case, its their design choice but its just too much in my opinion.

Not a jab at you, sorry if it came that way, I was just trying to humorously say that TLoU is not a video game from Ellie's perspective and she's in a constant state of physical effort.

I do find the complaint odd though. Like, how do the fungus properties in TLoU compare to real life fungus? How physically possible are clickers and the rest of whatever is going on in the game? Ellie is definitely well within the 'individual physical variation' range despite any anecdotal experiences. So you're taking issue specifically with an artist's rendering of someone who might be at the top end of a bell curve in a game full of things that are not anywhere close to the realm of possibility, but all the other actually impossible things? Nah that's fine.

For all you know in the TLoU universe both sentient fungi zombies and women with an extra half inch on shoulder broadness are a totally normal thing that needs no explanation.
