It is hard because nobody wants to be related with him anymore.
I can understand why public companies choose that.

But I blame the PAX admins because they should not invite him to begin with... that was their first mistake... cancel was the second.

Sony at least is not doing anything wrong... just ignoring somebody that they won't be public related.

I remember the shirt fiasco and some of the tame jokes and the whole cancel culture wave that went with it. I'll say again now what I said then, I don't really care for the guy, his opinion doesn't affect me at all, but to try and cancel someone because you don't like the things they said show's how much of a coward one can become. If you feel the need to cancel someone, it shows that you are afraid of the ideas/words and can't argue against their merits so you try and cancel the person.

Fuck Sony in this regard. Colin is fucking awesome and way better than anyone else who covers PlayStation. Anyone who was offended by his at worst "just not funny" joke is a fucking pussy with no spine or backbone and can't even take a joke. Greg Miller and the rest are fucking blowhards who don't know shit. Majority of what they say is so off it's ridiculous.

People should really watch his almost 3 hour interview with Joe Rogan from when that tweet happened. Colin is by far the smartest and most intelligent guy in the room. Best of all, he says what he feels and wants to say and never apologizes. In other words, he's a man.

I don't think it's anything to do with "cancel culture" - but they would shy away from anyone considered "divisive", no matter how mild

I wonder why they do this? The guy is pretty tame, but he is not part of the gaming media mafia, so I guess that would be one thing. So the other gaming "journos" just feel embarrassed by their ignorance in his presence, so Sony decided to make it easier on them so they had to cut him out of the insider loop.

I looked into this last time about the PAX event and he also kind of burned bridges by associating with Sophia Narwitz and Chris Ray Gun who both have or are still producting "anti-sjw" content and on occasion retweets people like Ian Miles Cheong. One of the tropes in ultra progressive circles is a vague invocation of "harm" to stifle dissent and he's offering them plenty of ammunition by boosting some reactionary voices.

There's not much else to say about it beyond games is an intellectual wasteland ripe for ideological capture.

I agree the topic is newsworthy, I just had no idea what your source/details were from reading the OP. You mentioned a post in a different thread that you easily could’ve linked, which mentioned a podcast you easily could’ve linked. News threads should give people, well, the news. Not a disorienting one-liner. Not trying to be harsh just saying how I feel honestly.

He also did nothing to warrant this kind of treatment, his "friends" were a bunch of cucks and Sony wants the Disney audience and has been pandering to soy boys and purple haired monstrosities for quite some time.

It's some saying from the American Revolutionary period that I'm not that familiar with. But in the last 10-15 years has become loosely affiliated with militia movements and tea party types. Similar to people flipping out about the Betsy Ross flag. It's US history but people act like it means you're a nazi.

I think his joke was something related to a holiday or something. No women around, or no women talking. So he just tweeted: "ah, peace and quiet." Total dad joke.

The issue was not the bad joke about a day without woman in the woman day (it was not the first similar joke from him neither the last).
He is extremist right to the point that what he says and the jokes are extreme preconceptions... he did not was compared with Hitler for nothing.
Even his closed friends tried to talk with him without any results to the points that their new channel was failing... so they reached an agreement for him left the channel.
His political ideias is out of pace even if you look at the barbarian world of centuries ago.

Nobody wants to be related with that that of guy.... so Sony and Pax are right but Pax is wrong to invite first to cancel after... they should never invite to begin.

Colin Moriarty created his own grave with that extremism... now he is just suffering the results of that.
Anybody thinking he is being bullied by the society needs to take some time to think about his actions before try to defense him from his own mistakes.

About the joke.

He posted about how nice could be to have a day without women on the women's day.
He was ridiculous and I'm a straight man... I showed it to my wife and she rolled her eyes... it was low, unnecessary, I don't even consider a joke.

It is the same joke a guy at break off did here in Brasil and he was fired.
"This employee took my arm, said he wanted slavery to come back, that I would have to have sex with him, repeating all the time that I should do what he wanted, as if it were the most normal thing in the world."

These types or kinds of jokes there is no place anymore.
