PlayStation Insider is "Very Nervous" About PS5 and the Current State of Sony.

If there's no internal fallout from the decision to go crossplay I guess things will work out through the natural course of time. It's possible some hard feelings may linger but nothing disruptive to the launch.

They aren't.
It is weird how out of proportion the censorship issue has become in the minds of some fans.

NOTE: I'm not saying it doesn't or shouldn't matter to those affected, but the big third parties and even the little developers pushing these niche otaku games (by and large) do not care. They include the tittilating bits to drive sales in one region, and they'll remove it again for the same reason.

I know, right? People enjoy complaining and blowing issues out of proportion for outrage sake. Developers won't move away from Sony as long as Playstation brand remains the juggernaut it is.

Only thing makes me "nervous" about PS5 is Sony solely focus on western games and completely forget about releasing anything from Studio Japan. I like some of their western games but my biggest reason I was in to playstation in the first place because its Japanese games.

I don't see that happening, PlayStation has always distinguished itself from its competition by offering a wide array of games and on its different generations, there have always been niche games next to big blockbusters, I think that Sony, no matter who is at its head, is very aware of this fact, it's something that forged the PlayStation DNA over the decades.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
Good yes but not great like Atari2600, SNES, NeoGeo or MegaDrive. PS2 and PS4 I would class as great consoles but PS3 not so much.
All Sony systems have been great imo.

The PS1 was incredible for the time, it's actually my favorite. Even though it hasn't aged particularly well, I have very fond memories.

Or ya know do the smart thing and just start focusing on the switch.

Also I really think you should watch this before you start thinking Sony will be like "you'll do it, AND YOU'LL LIKE IT" and expect everyone to just comply

Not me. I hope we have an option to get the most powerful hardware. I'd love a $1000 console if the price us warranted.
Yeah, the landscape of 2006 was completely different from today's.

We have gadgets that cost upwards of $2000 and that hasn't been a real problem. Of course, it can't be too expensive. But it's not necessary to avoid the $600 price tag like the flu in this day and age.

All they have to do is make sure the product is good enough. Imagine if they make it much less powerful only to cut costs. Maybe that's not the right way to go this time. Who knows? I mean, I'm just guessing.

Of course, if you get things really right once, there's pressure to up the stakes. I can't imagine that Sony can grow even bigger than they have with the PS4. Imo a decrease in market share and overall sales is almost a given. They can reach the stratosphere again, but I'm not taking it for granted. And frankly nobody should.

So according to the Xbox crowd Sony is thinking PS5 will fail. They are also doomed to fail because they're too cocky from all their success and think they can't possibly fail.

Weird.

That's a bad idea anything over 700 bucks is gonna turn off all but the most hardcore playstation fan

+ businesses want predictably and so many if sony‘s policies are undocumented, seat of the pants stuff. They are a bad partner compared to other platforms, esp wrt to smaller devs and pubs that cannot afford to be messed around.

They can get aay with it now because they have 100 million premium gamers captured. Next gen is a reset, as always.

i do wish nintendo was more in the mix. A nintendo box that could play gtavi and 2077 at launch AND offer nintendo games would be a no brainer for so many people.

MS is starting to bring the heat, but i hate world dominating American corporations more than giant japanese corporation, so #stillsony for now.

Honestly Microsoft has proven so promising I'm willing to give them a shot this gen

I can't make out if this stuff is just baseless rumor mongering, concern trolling, whatever or if there's really issues going on. Even if it turns out things are sunny and peachy for Sony this stuff worries me right now. Part of why I worry is how amazing Sony has been at first party gaming, the quality of games like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us makes me want PS5 to be amazing and for everything to work out. I want my God of War 2 for PS5 looking even more impressive with a larger world, I want to see Horizon Zero Dawn 2, I want to see how The Last of Us 2 looks and runs on a PS5 and I want to see what other new IPs are brought to the fold because of Sony's excellent support for first party games. Really hope these troubles don't affect all that.

This might be a personal thing but I cant remember a Sony first party game that came out in the past 5 years that didnt either bore me to tears or that I could watch someone else play on YouTube and lose nothing from the experience.

It seems like sony wants to get into the realm of interactive movies as opposed to games.

And there it is.

Is it wrong?

Your opinion is your opinion, no right or wrong about it. That it's the same opinion of anyone trying to troll the Sony brand is worth noting, though. How many people saying Sony games are simply interactive movies are say... Metal Gear Solid fans, I wonder?

And yet, quite a lot of Sony's 1st party games have sold well, a few of which breached the 10 million milestone. Your personal opinions of their games are irrelevant if they are performing well financially. I wasn't impressed with Horizon, but that doesn't change the fact that it sold over 10 million.

The fact that you would even compare metal gear solid to the vast majority of first party sony titles(save spider man cause that was a genuinely good game) is quite frankly insulting.

Well I guess it doesn't matter how completely devoid of life and passion it is as long as it makes money right?

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and assume you support the epic games store as well correct?

It's true, TLOU was 16 hours of game with 90 minutes of cut-scene, Metal Gear Solid 4 was an 18 hour game with 8 hours of cut-scenes, Sony really needs to up their game to match that level of interactive movie.

Because people keep buying those games regardless of how you or I personally feel about them.

Perhaps ask questions that are actually on topic and I will respond in kind.

I guess that's why all their best sellers have basically been last of us clones, whatever works I guess.
