I guess if you're keeping up with Hero Academia there's another season of that. I'm also interested to see that Blade of the Immortal adaptation.
Didn’t they already make a anime of Blade of the Immortal?
One of the first manga I ever read, that along Lone Wolf and the Cub.

Japanese people are mad (over twitter ofc) that they are portrayed as "the bad guys" in a WW2 based property.

Nippon doesn't always have to be number 1.

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun's first ep was decent? Pacing seems off.

For this season I plan on watching Africa no Salaryman, Babylon, Kabukichou Sherlock, Kemono Michi: Rise Up, No Guns Life, Psycho Pass 3 and Special 7: SCIU,

Usagi Yojimbo comes to mind.

Even though it's an American comic, the artstyle looks a little Japanese.

The kemono anime is fucking trash and is about as bad as the iruma-kun rap opening. Shinchou Yuusha is the superior isekai anime this season. Also Coke>Pepsi

Finished Clannad ~After Story~. Yeah that was quite heavy, but the ending was a bit disappointing, though to be expected considering that the supernatural aspect is a core element of the whole series. The ending of the episode before was also pretty cheap because of poor character decisions. Feel that it's a bit overrated. I guess most people love it because the story goes "so far". (Jeez, it's hard to talk without spoilers.)

Started watching Babylon and this show actually seems promising. I was a bit wary going in given the director but this seems like a really promising crime drama.

The wrestling isekai and "hero is way too cautious" isekai were pretty good. The prodigies isekai wasn't too bad. Much better showing for isekai this season.

Really? Everybody I know who watched Higurashi loved it.

Yeah, that particular forum just wasn't having it, they were a bit radicalized, bombarded me saying I was a sicko and the series had no plot aside from violence and exploitation after I started the thread

The forum wasn't really my niche anyways, but it terrified me for a bit from discussing my anime tastes online

Anyone I've know irl who's seen enjoys it, though, which is a plus

Damn, The Promised Neverland went full talk no jutsu

Not that I'm not happy this exists.... but why does Blade of the Immortal get this treatment and Berserk gets the TV tier CGI from the 90's adaptation?

I am super hyped about Blade of the Immortal and have been asking myself the same. This, Vinland Saga etc. Plenty Seinen that sell as much or less than Berserk get good anime adaptations, but Berserk gets constantly shafted.

Nobody expects it to have movie quality animation every episode, just a standard animation style that isnt terrible and we gucci as opposed to all the crappy cgi adaptations that are also directed badly.

Every crappy harem and isekai anime each season has better treatment than Berserk 2016.

Because Trojita Trojita keeps buying all the isekai BD.

I liked the first episode of Ore wo suki na no ha omae dake ka yo, I relate to the protagonist too much.
Oh my goodness finally someone mentions Higurashi in a positive light. I was on another forum talking about it and all they did was shat upon me for enjoying it (promptly left an never went back)
Higurashi is pretty good. Must've seen it like 5 times.

These dudes already had isekai cheat powers in our world. The one guy was Prime Minister while also being in high school!
A friend told me it was by the same guy who did Rakudai Kishi which I enjoyed, so I was pretty disappointed.

Currently reading "With the Light". If you though a Silent Voice was emotional and difficult to read, that manga is straight out of real life. Author went into great detail to consult specialists, families and children affected by autism, encompassing all aspects of their lifes, from daily life and work to special education.

But at the same time except the educational aspect it also features a good story and characters that act and talk like normal people, with all their worries. Haven't seen any manga that goes into such great detail and passion for the subject. It also explores other disabilities and issues kids and their families face, including poverty, family abuse, neglect, bad teaching and parenting etc.

I also had contact with autistic kids and their parents, councillors and teachers and can confirm that the manga is as close as possible to real life.

A difficult read because it is difficult for the reader to be emotionally detached from all of this due to the authenticity. Most events are based on real stories. But at the same time it is one of the manga that change the readers perspective about many things, without all that forced drama like A Silent Voice did.

Unfortunately manga author couldn't finish her life's work. A unique story like no other

I guess the creators aren't afraid of putting memes into the show. First Sandy doing a "concert" on a box while being ignored by everyone and now this.

Hammann still best tsuntsun ship, though.

I want them to animate the lion that gave up his harem shorts. Also that a good studio makes this.
lol that lion with the Gyaru harem.

Also the gay giraffe.

Another manga that I'm hoping gets a good studio, when it eventually has enough chapters to be adapted, is Spy x Family. I started both Spy x Family and Chainsaw Man, and I'm really enjoying reading them.

I stopped reading both because I have to go to the official website and it sucks.

The MC showed his true personality.

That sucks. I currently use the Shonen Jump app to read them.

Sorry I'm a little late to the conversation, but I really enjoyed Higurashi S1. I admit I feel guilty for not getting around to S2 yet especially since I actually own a bunch of Higurashi merch: a bunch of the manga volumes, PVC figures of Rena and Mion in the waitress outfits and Rika in a white dress, the OST CD, the visual novel CD-ROMs, and a framed poster of the girls (this one here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32933897761.html). I almost always watch official releases and there was no official release of S2 for a long time due to the licensing company Geneon going bankrupt after releasing S1 on DVD so by the time Sentai got the rights and released it all on BR it was many years later. I've got all the BR sets, just need to get around to it. Actually should do it this month, it's obviously the best month for this sort of genre.
