Ah, you're correct! I almost forgot about Prey, I did hear a whole lot of good about it. I really should check it out. It's a shame it really wasn't marketed better.

I use an svideo + framemeister but i can for the life of me make n64 games not look like smeared vomit.
Meanwhile the ps1 looks amazing

Absolutely horrid. Not to mention, 30fps, with massive dips on the last level too.
Even the old PC ports /emulators I've played run at 60fps on an old laptop, not to mention higher resolution.

You guys say some weird stuff "what's a Doom game without co-op" and "what's a Doom game without deathmatch?" I grew up on Doom, got it first for SNES, then PC then Doom ll, did the discs full of level packs as well. I always played by myself, never online. The game was amazing that way, didn't need this other crap.

The funny thing is, the framemeister isn't that great. It has lag and produces serious noise in solid colors. For the price, its absolute garbage.
N64 on a crt looks pristine. N64 on my retrotink 2 and sony fald looks pretty decent.
Ps1 lacks n64s analytical edge AA / texture filtering and has serious dithering anytime particles/shadows are on screen. It is less blurry, but messier.

ID games were never about gimmick items and any sort of gameplay complexity.
They are good at having 7-9 good guns and make them feel good. Simplicity and feeling good was always the strength of that studio

This sucks. I was really looking forward to getting Doom Eternal in November. Oh well. One less game I have to worry about ponying up the money for next month. My wallet will be happy with it being pushed back. Lol. I’m STILL pissed that GameStop cancelled my pre-order of the Collector’s Edition with no warning. Oh well. Fuck ‘em.

Sadly, no. It makes me sad/mad too. 2016's MP had potential but it had an identity crisis and was mishandled.
I hoped id would take that core idea, make it better, and polish it. But it didn't happen.
Instead we're getting the asymmetrical Battle Mode, and awhile back when it was first being talked about Marty mentioned if you wanted fast paced arena shooter DM to play Quake Champions. Which bummed me out considering that game was mishandled as well and has basically been dead and neglected for a long time.
Having a DOOM game with no death match just feels odd...
