Metro Redux for the Nintendo Switch has been listed for a December release by a Portuguese retailer.

The Switch version of 4A Games’ definitive edition of Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light has surfaced on the website of local retailer GamingReplay. Listed for a release this December on Nintendo’s hybrid platform, the bundle is said to retail for € 44,99 (roughly $50USD).

Just read the first book, will be starting the second soon. Completed both games on the Playstation 4 and am half way through exodus on the X1X

You can never have enough Artyom. I'd have it on the Switch, no question

...As long as it's not Bloodstained levels of bullshit :/

jeeez, this will look like shit on the Switch.
I love my Switch, but no one will make me ever play such a game on it.. 20fps 360p inc.

It crazy how nintendo gamers are willing to pay more for an old game that runs, by all objective measures, worse.

I think this falls into the same category as Hellblade.
It's cool that it's coming to Switch and will probably be worth it for everyone that either owns no other gaming system or only gets the time to play videogames on the go.

But everyone else should probably prefer the PC or home console version since a lot of the appeal of the franchise comes from the awesome setting and sense of atmosphere, for which you want to play it with the best image quality possible. Not to mention that they tend to be dirt cheap and frequently go on sale, I'm pretty sure I've seen them both bundled together for less than $10 multiple times.

People forgetting that Metro 2033 ran on a Xbox 360? :lollipop_confused:

It will likely look and run a little better than that on Switch.

Last light released on last gen too.

The last gen version was pretty ugly and ran at 30fps with drops but it was playable. I imagine the Switch version will look similarly but stick closer to 30fps and include the improvements from the Redux version. So all in all not too bad

Redux is worse than the originals

They completely butchered the lighting and atmosphere in 2033 esp.

Why would I get a switch version of an already downgraded version for $50

No way. Redux was much better in that the gameplay was much improved, especially with the stealth sections.

It’s like some gamers are personally threatened by (mostly ancient) games being ported to Switch.

If it isn’t for you, don’t play it. I totally get that perspective, yet every Switch port thread is full of the same drive-by comments, and if I checked, probably by the same posters.

We get it guys. We got it the first thousand times you said it.

I hope this is true. I've soon finished reading Metro 2033 and I think it's very good. Would be fun to see how the games holds up. I've heard good things about them.

Just saw a link from a Swedish gaming retailer who had this game up for pre-order. The date for release was feb 20.

You know, I may not be running out to buy all these remasters at full price, but someday soon it'll be nice to pick up "definitive versions"* of my favorite games from last gen and some of the ones I missed for cheap and play them on the go. I'm already eyeing Red Faction, that AC double-pack, FFXII, and a few others. Maybe I'll nab these too.

*used here to mean running as good as or better than they would have on last gen hardware and with all the DLC, not a shot at PS4/XB1/PC ports, obviously
