No receipts like I expected.

Funny how you were championing Scarlett having RT Cores and now you're saying nobody has final kits yet. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Google it. Just like the "rumored" die size he re-quoted as if it is fact.

But you're also using the rumor of power as fact.... oh the hypocrisy lol

You're talking about a rumor based on Tweets from Andrew Reiner back in June???????:

A whole year and a half before either PS5 or Scarlett launch. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that final dev kits (Final dev kits are usually just months from a console's launch) were definitely not yet in the hands of developers, but if you need receipts for plain common sense, then it probably just means you lack it.''

But sure, we'll go ahead and listen to that tweet while at the same time ignoring others, such as stating that Scarlett does better at Ray Tracing

Stop projecting? Hypocrisy strikes again? You were just projecting onto me, because this whole time I have been discussing in topics based on rumors from Gears of War 5 dev talking about RT cores, and Tweets from Andrew Reiner and Playstation Latest quoting sources in the industry. Having a discussion about said rumors is completely normal, spreading this info as fact is the issue that I'm pointing out here, heck I was just responding to a claim made by Aceofspades, which is a completely normal thing to do, but carry on, I'm the unreasonable one simply because I don't worship the same piece of plastic as you lol.

Wut?

Discuss rumors, don't pass them off as fact. It is not a hard concept, especially based on "confirmation bias".

lmao what the fucking fuck? It only took you a day to google to look for something to fit your narrative right? Go back and look at what I quoted and highlighted. You said nobody has final devkits. Thanks for proving my point with that tweet, lol.

Which is what Aceofspades was doing and I responded to HIM calling him out on doing just that. Are you confusing users?

There is no secret Leadbetter has bias undertones, which he heavily toned down in 2013 when humbled, but they are still there.

I do agree that the systems power rumors should not be passed off as fact, in which he did after re-reading it.

I am really glad both Sony and MS seem to have stayed focused on gaming for these next generation and hopefully we are going to get two beast consoles that will allow a true generational leap in console gaming. To be honest even just the improvements to CPU speed and Hard disk speed would be enough to win me over.
Agree. Seem to got away from making a media decide and made a damn game machine

This is still based on the same old rumor from Andrew Reiner back in June. How can there be final dev kits out there so early? have you ever followed console launches in the past?

Have you? So when were final kits for the PS4?

iirc final apu tape out 18 months—>near final kits 10 months (I think Final ram was not locked down yet).

edit: but there have been lots of rumors that ps5 was supposed to be a 2019 release, or even a spring 2020. So idk when silicon was locked for this one. It could have been as early as summer 2018 And only delayed because for process node wasnt ready for prime time? Idk, just amateur forum guy here.

Likely not final. Because these console GPUs are highly custom, dev kits usually have an approximation, like a Navi based GPU, but the final kit will include the actual console silicon and is usually given out less than a year before the launch. I remember for 360 and PS3, it was just months away.

You didn't answer my question. When were final PS4 final dev kits out?

As Sony appear to be deep into compatibility testing with PS4, I think its probably safe to assume that the production specs for the APU are locked down at this point. Meaning that any devkits/target-boxes in the wild will contain the finalized chipset, albeit slightly reconfigured for additional ram.

I suspect that the APU will be very likely the least interesting part of the overall design.
