Devil May Cry Called “Major Brand” By Capcom, More Titles Hinted To Come.

In Capcom’s Integrated Annual Report, Capcom referred to Devil May Cry as a major brand, putting it in the same mold as Resident Evil. While nothing was explicitly said, the report mentioned that young talent would be put on those brands going forward, which seems to strongly hint the DMC series has more planned.

“Moreover, they are overflowing with energy, and desire to use their skills to develop new markets, which is why they joined Capcom, whose DNA is rooted in a focus on global markets. If the employee is highly capable, they may be assigned to the development of major brands, such as Resident Evil or Devil May Cry in the early years of their career. Learning and and achieving results under the tutelage of a leader while taking on more responsibility over time readies that employee to eventually take on a leadership role themselves in the future.”

Obviously they call it a major brand, since it's one of their best selling AAA brands. I don't know when, but make sure they will release more DMC games, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, etc.

Series have a ton of games sold and the last game made a great job in terms of sales and reviews. So yes, some day you'll get DMC6. This is how Capcom or the AAA gaming industry works.

It sounds like we might be getting a DMC game alongside Itsuno's next project, with the part about putting young talent on the series. Previously, Itsuno worked on Ninja Theory's DmC as a consultant/assistant director while also directing Dragon's Dogma - could happen again, but with results that are nowhere near as polarising.

Well... of course. "Devil May Cry series" is Capcom's "superior, proprietary content"...

...just like "Dead Rising series" and "Dragon's Dogma series".

I am cautiously optimistic. As long as the quality remains the same I support this but if they just start pumping out garbage and ruin the franchise (like EA does with games) then I will be upset as I really like this series.

I love DMC and I've been a fan since day 1 of this franchise. I'm just down we never got DLC for DMC5 with extra characters. The SE versions of DMC game(s) are great, but its so obvious that DMC5 needs character DLC. They have to realize that this game needed just a little more. Especially after modders were adding the content for us.
