2019 PC Screenshot Thread

Yep, I'm really liking the colors and aesthetic for the most part. Though I wish you could turn off the chromatic aberration without having to go into the .ini files.

I'm playing on Gamepass so I can't even go into the .ini files. The amount of graphical settings you can tweak in this is laughably low, thank god they let me turn off motion blur.

It's funny, technically I would say Modern Warfare takes a massive shit on Outer Worlds, but I "like" the visuals in The Outer Worlds more.

So, you did find the inis (was ready to help), when my eyes don't betray me. Good work on those shots, as always.

Hello people. Can someone give me some feedback on that Reshade preset i made for NFS HP?

It's the preset i spent most time working on, many hours to make the game look as good as possible without over-doing it. I think it's pretty much perfect for me, except for the contrast, which might be a bit too strong, not for me actually but for other people. That's because i have a low quality monitor with lots of screen glare, lack of contrast and poor black levels, and i usually try to compensate that with high contrast in my reshade/sweetfx presets.

Is the background detail too dark/crushed? Is the black shadow under the car too exaggerated?

No I haven't, I've been working around the CA as much as possible (look at the right side of the tower in the last pic). I was under the assumption that even digging through the game files on Xbox PC games would trigger a Microsoft doombot to be dispatched to ban me from Xbox and delete my family.

Maybe I should have looked more into it, what is your dark secret?

Few mods later

If you hit the ` key to open the console, you can type "tm" and hit enter to make the UI disappear to take screenshots. To bring the UI back just type "tm" a second time and hit enter. Hit ` to make the console go away again. If you type "tfc 1" the game will pause and allow you to move the camera anywhere you want.

It may come down to simple monitor differences, mine is a bit dimmer than many, but I think a bit less contrast would make it just about perfect. I might also add a tiny bit of warmth to the color, but that's really a preference thing.

Just scrolling by I didn't recognize it as NFS HP, it looks more like Forza Horizon 2 during a sunrise, and I really do mean that as a compliment. FH2 driving out of the tunnel, across the big bridge and back into the second tunnel in the hill with the town below is one of the prettiest things ever put in a game, especially for it's time. Nice work!

I see... At this point i'm convinced it should have a bit less contrast. A friend said exactly the same thing but without me asking anything so it got me thinking.

About adding warmth, i also have a preference for warmer colour palletes, visually my favourite time of day and levels in games are always those with a sunrise/sunset and yellowish godrays/fog around, but in this case i'd say it's not a good idea, as this game has a good and balanced variety of biomes and tones around, and changing the warmth of the colour could affect that.

Good to know. I find the Forza Horizon games gorgeous as well, and FH4 is the best looking racing game i've ever seen, it's the only game that beats Driveclub for me. Thanks.

Looks great. What kind of visual mods are you using?
Many my friend XD, ENB if I am not wrong is "realistic commonwealth" + many 8k texture, neuraLOD+Far away for LOD

Wow thank you for sharing that 👍

So, i tried decreasing the contrast setting in Reshade's "Curves" effect from 700 to 600. I also noticed that 650 is the default value.

Overral image contrast is a bit lower and shadows are a tiny bit less black, not enough to notice without a comparison but just enough to make detail inside more visible. I wonder if it looks better for other people now.

I figured I'd take a small break from posting TOW for today :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Here are all the console commands for Fallout 4, enjoy! You can accomplish a lot of things through the console that you may have been looking for a mod to do.

I apologize for my rude post above, completely unnecessary and frankly mean spirited and has no place in this thread. I've been tinkering with Fallout 4 since it launched and have well over 400 active mods now, I'd hate to discourage others from their own tinkering by being an asshat.

I would highly recommend you stick mostly to 4K textures unless you're planning on spending a lot of time really close to the objects. From a normal distance, like while in-game or for most screenshots you'll never see the difference, and 8K textures will quickly reduce your VRAM to nothing. 4K textures are already pretty taxing in large numbers and if you plan on really going all-out you'll start having issues even loading up the game. I would look at texture optimizing mods before you go too far as well, Bethesda put massive textures on everything from walls to pencils. A pencil does not need a 2K texture, and there are mods that will reduce those to tiny little files giving you more space for important textures like the inhabitants, environments, and major structures.

For a really customizable ENB, I recommend you look at downloading Natural Atmospheric Commonwealth and use it in conjunction with the Photorealistic Commonwealth ENB. Between the two there are basically infinite combinations and tunability of the game's visuals. If you're interested, also look into the things you can accomplish making changes to the .ini files. A good example is the game's screen space reflections which only extend a small amount into water and only appear when you are close, but a change to the games files can allow the entire water surface to show SS reflections regardless of distance.

If you go back a few pages and check out my early Fallout 4 posts you'll get an idea what NAC/PRC is capable of. Self-shadowing, bounce lighting, etc. Just be forewarned, expect massive framerate drops :messenger_grinning_sweat:

It's burried in the AppData...

Go into: Users/(Username)/AppData/Local/Packages/PrivateDivision.TheOuterWorldsWindows10_hv3d7yfbgr2rp/LocalCache/Local/Indiana/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor

  • Open Engine.ini using any text editor, such as Notepad
  • Add [SystemSettings] to the bottom of the file, if it isn’t already there
  • Under [SystemSettings], add r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
  • Save the file, and exit the file

At the moment I'm having trouble with the LOD, long distance objects appear to be artifacted have you got any suggestion?

Reminder that these shots have just one car/car color in one area and time of day! This game has so much eye candy you wouldn't believe, specially with Reshade. I'd recommend everyone to try it out, it has a good photo mode (in 2010!) and it's great for screenshot lovers.

If by artifacting you mean the textures are flickering, there's no 100% fix for it that I've found. Bethesda seems to have placed the different LOD textures on the same plane, and from a long distance there are two LOD textures being displayed over each other. When you get close the low-detail one fades out. They do this because the higher detail one would actually look worse at long distances. Unfortunately since they placed both in the exact same position they clip though each other.

You can download mods to make the LOD better, but overall LOD changing mods tend to make everything crash and cause issues.

I have a handful running. Since I have a lot of green in my game and my buildings are a lot sharper than the base game in general. I needed to do something.

NeuraLOD - Higher detail LOD

FAR

Grassy LODs

Nuka World and Starlight Drive-in

Here's the the texture optimization mod I was talking about since I'm digging through my mod history anyways. Your game will look identical and you'll free up a bunch of memory. All texture mods will/should work with this one. It's a good starting point before you really get into it.

Is it possible to edit older posts in this forum? I wanted to make it clear that i'm using Reshade in my previous posts by editing the titles, but the only post that shows the "Edit" option is my last one above.

If you're getting a déjà vu feeling... it's because i tried to recreate my first shot posted here, but in 4k! Didn't manage to get the angle so i gave up and decided to post this one anyway. Now i feel bad for taking that first shot in 2732x1536... i don't think i'll be able to replicate it ever again :,(
