Fuck IGN's North American Branch (A Hideo Kojima Rant)

You still don't get it, don't you? I specifically mentioned that IGN Italy, Japan, etc had radically different scores than IGN NA and this led me to believe that something suspicious wad going on.
Suspicious how? Are IGN Italy and Japan staffed by the same people? What would be suspicious is if they all had similar scores.

"Am I living in Ra Ra Rand?" is what I imagine Kojima-San telling himself when he woke up and read the score of IGN North America's Review. A rather obnoxious and utterly desperate score to give to a game that warrants at the minimum an 8/10 by all means and measures. Even if the gameplay is lacking in the usual AAA depth and polish that you see in games such as RDR2, to give such an ambitious AAA a 6.8 out of 10 is suspicious to say the least.

Here are the reviews from IGN Italy, IGN Spain, IGN Germany, and IGN Japan, all of which scored Death Stranding much higher than their North American counterpart:

As you can clearly see, something is suspiciously wrong here. Why do IGN have FOUR review scores that directly contradict their North American review?

It's simple: Capitalize and maximize site revenue through a genuinely clickbait-ish review score. There's no two ways about it, and this is why I believe that IGN have truly sacrificed their last strands of journalistic integrity.

I hope IGN dies a miserable death and their reviewers/editors end up with a minimum wage job to pay for this heinous and utterly despicable crime in gaming journalism.

Lol my predictions was correct xDD. I dont even play it. But I know how they are overreacting the gaming reviews xDD.

The amazing thing was that i give the correct score of the game xDD

Have you played it?

Honestly, a game that has a total score in the mid 80's will have some reviews around 7 and others above 9.

Only on PlayStation can we complain about games that get an average review score of 86!

That being said, this game is an actual walking simulator, which is pretty strange in and of itself.
And no we don't like weird shit, we have exquisite taste.
Exquisite is just another word for weird, look it up.

All the positive reviews are wrong, and the two negative reviews are the only ones that are correct because they happen to be the ones that align with what you predicted...

Seriously, do you realize how fucking stupid that sounds?

As I always say it. Dont listen to anybody, the own criteria is the Best.

BUT.

This game is not for everybody, is a select sector of Gamers that can enjoy and try it. I can bet that will become a Cult game.

Usually the high score is because the hype. The need more time to give a real score.

Sony should just give Syphon Fillter ip to Kojima

Tactical espionage genre its the kind of game that he really thrives its the closest thing he can get to metal gear solid

As for Deaths Stranding i cant speak for now, will look after it next week when it hit stores

Lets take a step back here OP. IGN North America actually gave it the right score.

I have to be honest, while I don't think DS is a game for me, 6.8 is not inherently a bad score. People should really stop equating 6~7s to awful. This perception has hurt decent games more than its helped.

Reviews of reviews nowadays?

Well, not exactly a review of the review per say but he just wanted to make a point here:

Even if after reading this review and you still go to forums to discuss the game, see even more reviews then just buy the game because clearly there is nothing to change your mind.

I'm a Kojima fan and love mgs, but maybe its time to admit his better days are behind him. Ofcourse i will buy DS day one, but reading some reviews i'm ready to let go of the idea that he still got it.

Very much so. It's not a conventional game and was never going to be liked by everyone.

Take out the fact it's made by Hideo Kojima and I'm finding very little about the game that people would universally agree on.

I just watched the IGN review and I don't see the issue with it. I'm no fan of IGN in general, but so what that it deviates from the 9's an the 10's given by other outlets? I mean, he is absolutely on point from the extensive gameplay we've seen previously.

I'd say that it's the other way aroud though. All the Kojima whoreshipping with the perfect scores are far more pathetic and cult-like.

Until now a saw a lot more people using the IGN review as a "Haha, see, the game sucks" than people saying "Wow, this is so wrong, kill the IGN guy".
While there a extremes in both ways - hardcore woreshippers defending the game and hardcore haters using every straw to demolish it - we shouldn't put blame on one side or even point fingers.
A lot of perfect score reviews made clear, why they did love the game. We shouldn't ignore that.

I've read a some of the reviews and I still stand by my opinion.

Some seem to reiterate boring, dull and tedious gameplay yet still give it a high score. Sure, they do mention reasons why they loved the game but for me, gameplay is no.1 and from what we've seen it looks like a snoozefest not worthy of perfect scores.

Yeah, and for you, your opinion should always be the most important thing.
Sadly many tend to forget that point right now - it is THEIR opinion and does not speak to the overall reception of the game.
