New Episodes

Animal Mask: Hilarious. I was seriously surprised they animated that fight scene in the flashback.

Ready Perfectly Isekai Hero new: Hilarious.

Ore o Suki: Hilarious. Was totally expecting that outcome.

Ahiru no Sora: Nice wrapup to the end of the game.

Anyone watching Psycho Pass 3?
Just saw the first episode and seems fairly interesting so far.
I'm not quite sure on the power of the main character though. At one point his partner basically explains it as "it's just a skill, anyone can do it if they focus enough"....... was that supposed to be an excuse ??? Or are they really trying to tell me this dude magically connecting with other people by just standing in they same spot were they did is "a skill that anyone can master"??

I have a question. If I get the Bleach Blu-rsy sets, how would I go about getting it to upsacle to fit my 4KTV? I only have a PS4 Pro for my Blu-ray player. I tried watching it before, but the frame ratio bothered me to no end. Would buying an actual 4K Blu-ray player help in upscaling the image to fit my screen? And I know I can stretch the image on my TV settings obviously, but it looks like shit and I don't want to have to keep switching my settings around just to accommodate one show.

I REALLY want to get the Bleach Blu-ray sets, because I stopped watching it back on its Adult Swim run where Ichigo rescues Rukia from execution. So, I haven't seen a lot of it. Please help me figure this out.

You could watch Char's Counterattack, Unicorn, or any of the Universal Century OVAs like Thunderbolt, War in the Pocket and Stardust Memory. I'd personally recommend Thunderbolt as that is my favorite Gundam thing in years.

Comedy SNAFU Season 3 coming Spring 2020.

After myriad complex calculations, the final result is Yuigahama besto ga-ru.

Is SNAFU comedy I thought it was just awkward weird kids with no actual issues outside their own insecurities.

I've been reading Kyoukai no Rinne by Rumiko Takahashi. I had read her other works (Maison Ikkoku, Ranma, Urusei Yatsura) years ago and I like that her work goes back to the humor of Urusei Yatsura. I also read Inuyasha and while it was a decent shonen it did drag a lot in the last 20 volumes. Also manga version was way more violent, close to Berserk levels of violence. No wonder anime became very tame in that regard.

As for Rinne, if you like a manga about shinigami and ghosts it is decent. Though watch out when you yawn!

It's Wednesday, so actual watchable shows are out today! Yay.

I just started Chaos;Child. Watched Chaos;Head back when it originally aired. Haven't played any of the VN's.

I got to see the Konosuba movie in theaters and man that was a lot of fun. It really does pick up where they left off and it was a helluva ride. I haven't laughed that hard in a theater in a loooong time. Highly recommended if you've seen the first two seasons and you can get a chance to.

Out of more obscure titles

Tearmoon Empire Story (LN and manga)

Protagonist is a princess who gets her head chopped off in French Revolution type setting, when that happens she travels back in time to when she is 12 and she starts trying really hard to change the future.

She is still selfish and self centered, just doesn't want to get her head chopped off.
Gives off a bit of a Ciaphas Cane vibe, at least in the LN, the manga just started.

Bad end princess/dutches/Bakarina LN's adaptations are becoming as common as isekai.

My knowledge of anime ends at the late 90s/early 2000s. Do they still make those shows where a dude is inexplicably surrounded by beautiful girls who either 1) love him unconditionally for seemingly no reason or 2) are constantly punishing him for innocent misunderstandings?

I think Saber Marionette J was an example of the former and Love Hina was an example of the latter.

Did you just ask if harems still exist? Yes except people now die and then they get OP powers or pussy but never do shit about it. Here are some non isekai harems (openings)

Except they have a reason for liking the dude. You might like To Love Ru, anything Fate, Love Tyrant and SAO?

My wife and I just finished watching Heroic age. I wasn't even aware it was sci-fi, for some reason I thought it was fantasy. lol
Anyway it was a pretty cool show. Not the best animation but I liked all the characters and the story. Felt slightly rushed towards the last few episodes though. If you like sci-fi adventures you should check it out.

I'm also currently watching Inuyasha, again, I had no idea what it was really about and wasn't aware it involved demons. I finished season 1 and it's pretty great so far. I always laugh whenever Kagome says "sit" to Inuyasha. The music sounded very familiar, it made me think of Ninja Scroll and sure enough they both have the same music composer.

It's a common genre to begin with.

Heck, John Carter is a classic isekai with an overpowered hero.

LMAO this got an anime.

Fucking how?

How are they going to adapt this?

This was part of the group of manga that would probably never get an anime release :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Just finished this series last week. Reconguista in G.

What an absolute mess. So bloody convoluted. I didn't care about anyone, nor any faction. The animation itself was great with what I thought were nice reminders of previous UC animation. Definitely do not recommend this series. Also, did that guy drive the ship on top of his dad at the very end? So bloody confused by this series.

I usually try to stay far away from anime comedy cause... I don't jive too much with japanese humor. However, I found myself in a great place with shinchou yuusha and africa no salaryman. So I guess my question is... is animal mask as funny? I think I like the other 2 shows cause one subverts expectations super well and the other is just beyond stupid but not trying to mask anything while still being relate-able somehow.

Well Animal Mask is pretty stupid lol. It's about a masked wrestler that gets Isekai'd. Upon being summoned he immediately german suplexes the princess.

Are you watching Dr. Stone? It's good, but only comes into its own once what I consider the "prologue" ends.

I see you don't have Beastars or Hoshiai no Sora on your list. I'd consider them standouts of the season. Beastars is a 3d adaption, but the 3d works and is surprisingly well done. The OP is very reminiscent of Fantastic Mr. Fox stopmotion.

Hoshiai no Sora is a tennis anime by Akane Kazuki

I'm loving Mairimashita! Iruma-kun. It feels like a show from the 90's/2000's, in a good way. The OP sounds like something that belongs on a track of DDR back in the day.

I'm also watching Ahiru no Sora. It's a basketball anime adapted from a manga that hadn't gotten an anime till now. It's about a short kid that wants to play basketball. The school he goes to has a basketball club full of delinquents that don't even want to play the game. It's taking a bit long for the whole team to get together, but I'm looking forward to seeing where this will go.

Assassin's Pride hasn't been bad so far and the OP is a banger

Choujin is an isekai I see as being a dumb Dr. Stone

Tomino had intended for the series to be longer (probably around 50 episodes like many Gundam series) but his age prevented him from working that long so he had to set a more realistic goal. Gundam has had its episode length significantly shortened before (original Gundam and After War Gundam X) but this was likely easily the largest reduction assuming Tomino had a lot of the story planned out. So yeah, I've not seen it myself but everyone who has seems to agree it feels like things are just happening with no rhyme or reason (like for example, I heard one part has characters who are supposed to be captured just walking around freely with their captors with no explanation) and it's clear the show was rushing to fit everything in but didn't have enough time to do it so thus an incoherent mess.

Tomino himself owned up to what happened, saying he'd rate the show as a whole a 15/100.

I’m new to anime ! I always thought it was childish ( I was wrong I’m sorry!) I tried naruto an bleach when I was younger and hated it.

My boss made my watch a couple lately and I’m hooked. My favorites so far are Mob Psycho and Hunter x Hunter, though brotherhood is quickly rising

he started me on One Piece where it isn't my favorite of the bunch I really enjoyed it for the intricate storylines oda is telling over the length of the series
I enjoy fire force so far, My hero academia the music and animation is top notch, and Demon Slayer has been fantastic. I think what puts Hunter x Hunter at the top for me though was Gon was just a normal dude and rarely the most powerful kid on screen he was just Gon and he lost often a lot of these other guys never lose. I liked seeing that side of anime

Watch Chaika

I will check it out thanks!

@SLoWMoTIoN 's recommendation is very far off from what you've so far said you've liked.

I forgot to mention One Punch man and Black Clover yes I have watched also enjoy them, I did try Dr. Stone but i dropped off around episode 8 or so it was kinda slow for me but my boss says I should give it another shot as it has really picked back up. So I may

I do not mind trying different things, I can appreciate anime other than battle shounen for other reason like i said animation and music. Thats why im here hoping you guys might be able to point me to more stuff that I wont find on the front page on crunchy roll

Dr. Stone comes into its own when it gets out of it's "prologue", you were pretty close to the beginning of that next part. Was the last episode you watched the one where they made the magnet?

If you like animation then definitely check out Hyouka and other Kyoto Animation shows. If you like comedy, try Nichijou.
