Halo Infinite is the currently biggest project in the gaming industry (Update: Reported False by Frank O'Coner)

500$ million means nothing if you can't recapture the spirit of the original creation. At this point I hope that 500$ million budget is being spent on begging the original creators to return to the franchise.

Wasn’t the marketing budget for Destiny over $400 million?

If the development, and only the development, for Halo Infinite is $500 million, why do they need that much money? That’s absolute ridiculous. I can only imagine them needing that much if they’re wasting every resources they can. Constantly restarting from the ground up.

You need to take the nostalgia glasses off.

Regardless of what you felt at the time, the truth is, you cannot compare the technology and how the world works now vs 2004, the amount of comments, shares and likes on facebook alone, would trump the buzz around Halo2 on release date everywhere on the web.

Halo 2 sold aprox 8M copies, it was quite big for the time, but sales have been dropping ever since, with Halo 5 selling around 5M copies, and MCC 3.13M, so to imagine that this one will sell about twice what its most sold game sold, is ridiculous.
So there are way more people to share and hype stuff up and way more gamers so it cant sell more ? Your arguing against yourself.
Halo 2 hype was off the charts like Halo 3 midnight openings it was on the tv news despite gaming being smaller and niche.

Overall though i also doubt it will sell 16 million it would have to be unfking believable and on pc to.
That would be friken awesome because i miss anticipating halo games like they are going to be the best gamer ever ... like halo 3 was .. awesome story cut scenes map size, multiplayer, coop, customized maps stats and replay capabilities. Destiny 2 still dosent come close to the scope of Halo 3.

Halo 3 blew every other multiplayer game out of the water and almost every other single player game .. ( this was the days of counter strike after all).

Sounds to me like each Halo game since the first is made up of two distinct parts and 343 has yet to make a game where they don’t fuck up at least one of them.

And personally I think you’re being a bit too kind with regards to Halo 4’s campaign.
I know everyone has different opinions, but I've been vocal about Halo 4 being my 2nd or 3rd favorite campaign behind Combat Evolved.

This information from the final Halo: Outpost Discovery event in Anaheim has made its way through most of the Forge community, but we wanted to make sure to highlight it here for everyone in the broader community as well. Michael Schorr, our Forge Lead Designer (Forge Lord), was able to confirm two very exciting pieces of news at one of our community-hosted "Forging Worlds" panels. Those two bits are:

  1. Yes, Halo Infinite will have Forge
  2. Forge will have Undo/redo buttons

While this may not seem like huge news to some, it means the ability to create worlds to others. And yes, Undo/redo buttons deserve to be a bullet point here as well. These have probably been the most requested Feature since the launch of Forge in Halo 3, back in 2007, and we're excited to be finally be able to deliver this to fans in Halo Infinite.

I think Microsoft is doing everything great right now. I'll definitely play all Halos that are going to be released in Master Chief Collection. And Halo 5 would be a great ending to that series (for now) as i think based on all rumours and facts

Halo 5 is trash that deserves to be forgotten.

Except MP, that was good.

Both are factual.

Halo 5 wasn't even within the top 10 on XBL 6 months after launch. Not even million dollar tournaments could inject any meaningful life into it.
I'm not sure what you're talking about or how you're coming to that conclusion, the last I checked which was just a few years ago there were like 370,000 active players.

What's with this whole newage "X game needs some profound professional following to be good or successful"? That's like the most unimportant metric imaginable.

It's kinda the rockstar way...

Gta5 and rdr2 are probably the game with the biggest budget ever (at least in their generation) and look at the scores...and they are both very flawed games...

very flawed games is a massive understatement 🤣

I would legit call RDR2 a bad game. it has all the markings of a bad game.
bad mission design that is extremely linear and restrictive to the point where you get a game over for stepping two steps too far in one direction... absolutely atrocious controls and on console massive input latency to the point where manual aiming is disgusting... buggy AI, especially the autopilot on horses... and of course filler filler and more filler, riding for 4-5min after every mission and at the start of every mission for example

just god awful

It took me 20 hours of playing that game before I finally made that honest conclusion. Feels awful.

$500 million divided by $60 means they only need to sell 8.3 million copies to break even.

Seems possible over the long run.

RDR2 is a little like Souls games where your actions are queued until the animation has ended.
Also RDR2 plays much better in first person, even on consoles.

Every time I hear Bonnie Ross speak she seems more concerned about how many vagina’s are in the office, rather than making a great Halo game. These are worrying signs.

Ask me about my fanboy energy!
500 million given to some morons who couldn't even port the original games right.

They'll just try to take back that 500 million in microtransactions on Halo Infinite
Actual development cost = 50 million
Wasted money on hiring hollywood actors = 450 million
Can people stop acting like its true for the sake of console war arguments. This was denied by Farnkie on the other site and posted here in this thread already.
