That sucks about Corny quitting. Not surprising though.

The show was taped September 30th, you think somebody would have watched it and noticed what he said before uploading it.

I forgot how awful R/SquaredCircle is during an event. That Takeover pre show match was horrible, beyond slow paced for two little dudes, and full of botches and the second you call out the match being meh you get downvoted into oblivion.

Well this will be interesting, I haven't actively watched any NXT since maybe one or two Takeovers ago, just lost interest. Lets go.

Yup, Mauro even mentioned her. Not sure if they were supposed to put her on camera or if they did and Mauro just reacted to it.

I don't think they mentioned her name

They did, I rewound it cause I couldn't believe they showed her and mentioned her, but Mauro said his real life girlfriend Britt Baker showing concern, but the camera cut off her like instantly

Edit- Wouldn't shock me if that isn't cut out almost instantly upon replays

They probably will cut it, to not give problems with AEW. Hell, even AEW will play smart to not show Renee with Mox

An update on the situation from Triple H

UPDATE: On his post-show media conference call, Triple H addressed Baker being shown on the feed. He said the person in the truck who used the shot didn’t know she worked for a rival promotion. Once she’d been shown however, they had to mention it, which is why Mauro said her name. Triple H said he’d never want to put her in a position to get heat for appearing on a WWE show.

Also, looks like the Kabuki Warriors finally get a new theme song that isn't a lame mash-up

I mean it's not the first time Britt has been to one of the shows to see Cole, if anything this puts more eyes on an AEW superstar that they use regularly, I'm sure they won't be too upset about it.

Horrible booking of the last match, no doubt that Bayley, Becky, and Shayna can perform! But that match was horrible. They shouldn't have ended with that at all.

Yup, if you don't have some type of interference from Shaynas pals, or a Rhonda return planned then there was no reason for Shayna to go over just to be beat up after by Becky. NXT still would have "won" the night, you still end up with Becky standing tall...but I guess this is WWE just panic booking to try to get people to tune into NXT for the Wednesday night wars...disregarding the crazy Fox money and the fact that Raw and SD are trash booked and aren't drawing in viewers either. I'm a fan of the NXT talent, but it felt really forced tonight...and I suppose the leadup. This was a really by the books safe PPV, I don't understand all the Rey stuff and interference and then not to have him win tonight? Weird booking the whole night it felt like.

I did enjoy the Austin/Taker thing after the PPV though, and honest to god since I don't watch YT or anything, I legit had no idea Takers voice sounded like that

I don't think WWE was in anywhere near panic mode to promote NXT but knew they have the mainstream market advantage over AEW, which is still a new brand with a lot of unknown wrestlers that isn't Chris Jericho or Jon Moxley.

War Games. Awesome show.

Womens War Games match was one of the best. Told a great story with the Kai heel turn and then Rhea overcoming the odds and winning. Love the touch with the hand cuffs that Shayna brought in earlier coming into play in the end. Rhea and Io came out as huge stars but everyone got to shine.

3-way was good action but IMO went on a bit to long should of cut a few minutes off of it. The last stretch was really good and Dunne winning was the right but obvious choice.

Riddle-Balor was a bit disapointing, but it was also a replacement match and this would of been better as Johnny/Balor. Felt more like a good TV main even than a Takeover match, but not horrible. Riddle still is awesome.

Mens Wargames was amazing as well. Lee looked like a beast, and UE were showing that they are masters of the WG gimmick. The end bump was insane and scary but I have faith that these guys made the bump as safe as possible.

Great show as per usual.

Survivor Series was more of a mixed bag.

Womens match was decent with the right winner. Again Rhea is coming off as a superstar.

Didn't see the 3 way but heard it was good.

Cole-Dunne was a great NXT match as expected, MOTN from what I saw.

Mens tag was a lot of fun. Great to see all the reactions the NXT guys got. Lee being the last one was great and Vince is probably slobbering at Lee. I don't mind him losing to Reigns. Its Reigns he is one of the biggest stars in the biz its not a knock to come up short against him. Hopefully we will see them meet again maybe main eventing a PPV or WM in the future. Also though Ciampa came off as a big star as well and I think him and Rollins could have a great feud.

The match made me want to see Gable/Riddle, Orton/Riddle, Lee/Roman, and Rollins/Ciampa. No interest in Corbin/Reigns but that will be the feud on SDL for the next few months, Corbin get your jobs ready.

Rey/Lesnar a fun match that was just the right length of time. Dominic made the match and Lesnar keeping the belt was the right move. I have no idea who his next feud will be with, but please no Roman or Rollins. Maybe Cain returns by the Rumble?

Womans match was bad. Bayley should not be in control as a heel for most of the match. When Shayna and Becky were in there it was good, but Bayley dominating made the whole thing boring. Shayna winning was the right move and I don't mind Becky getting her heat back because the crowd loves her.

NXT winning was the right move. Legitimizes NXT as a 3rd brand and not "developmental". I still go back to what I said before which is I don't get how over NXT is with the crowd but its not translating to the TV audience. Every NXT peformer is over, NXT is over, yet the fans aren't turning on Weds. You would think they could get more than 750K of the 2-2.5 million Raw/SDL viewers to tune in to NXT with the way the crowd and social media reacts to anything NXT.

Bascially the build and SS made me realize that NXT is the best thing in the WWE and RAW/SDL are boring without those guys. OTOH there are a lot of RAW/SDL guys I would love to see go to full sail for a month or two and work with the NXT talent.

IMO but I doubt they do it I would send Orton to NXT to feud with Riddle.

Good to see Toni Storm in a main line WWE pay per view show. Met her once when she was getting drunk as fuck with Jimmy Havoc after a Progress(?) show.

As for survivor series it was all ok apart from the last women's match, it was shit and it was shit because of Bayley. The show should have ended with Roman and Keith Lee fist bumping.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. The women's match was ass. These girls main evented one of the biggest shows of the year and that was what they did with it.

I blame Bayley. She shouldn't be controlling a match as a heel. Basically brought the entire PPV to a standstill and the crowd wasn't having any of it. Just too much Bayley offense. Also we had Dunn/Daine/Preist and Roddy/AJ/Nak 3 ways and then you have this one which was lame with all the 3 way tropes of send a person to the outside heel control etc...

Send Shayna to SDL and have her put this Bayley title reign out of its misery.

Yeah about halfway thru SS I was over the multi person matches. I gotta go back and rewatch parts of it, cause like most main roster PPVs the WWE puts on the couple highs seemed great, while the rest was just eh.

I want to like Shayna, and I appreciate that she went down to developmental and learned unlike Ronda, but her title reign in NXT has been too much, there were too many chances to really elevate one of the babyfaces down there with a win and she just catches them landing on her for the same finish every event but I like the concept of her upsetting Bayley. That could be because I have never been a Bayley fan, her in ring work is Natty levels of boring except she is far more prone to mistakes or just little things that stand out to me then Natty.

I don't really agree with Shayna needing the win though, NXT already won the night, and after Super-Rhea made her Charlotte levels of OP weekend they already have a star ready to break out of NXT at any point. I love Becky, but her run hasn't really featured any big signature wins or big PPV moments where even tapping out Bayley here and ravaging Shayna would have been cool. This all will depend on what the payoff is though, are we building to a Shayna/Becky Mania? Will Ronda be back? Or we just getting another main event Charlotte push?

Can agree a bit. Show peaked at the Cole/Dunne match, but the Mens tag was good. But the nature of the PPV with 3 ways and 15 men tags it was starting to wear out its welcome. If the show ended at the mens tag it would of been better. I liked Lesnar match but it wasn't super exciting and the main just killed everything.

Its no NXT PPV, but for a main roster PPV it was ok. Best parts though were anything to do with NXT. NXT basically carried the PPV

I am a huge Shayna fan. I like her title reign in NXT, I don't mind that she has held the title for so long I think its good to really establish the belt and her. Since back in the day NXT was developmental, other girls not getting the belt isn't a big deal since they can just go up to main and languish there.

Again big fan of Shayna and the clutch so I don't mind her looking strong. I think NXT wining out right was the right call. If Shayna lost it would of been 3-2-2, giving main an overall win. This way NXT beat both roster combined. Also since NXT is all about the womens division having them win both matches put over the division huge.

To me the money is in Shayna vs Ronda at some point. They have a great built in storyline of being friends, in the original 4 horsewomen, MMA fighters who both went to WWE. Difference is Shayna had to scratch and claw her way to where she is while Ronda got WM main events and Main roster right off the bat. The story writes itself. So I think keeping her strong is the smart play. I would have Shayna just give up the title and beat Bayley at the Rumble leading into Ronda v Shayna at WM.

More likely, that NXT and it's roster is not fully well known to WWE's mainstream crowd. Now that those stars from the 3rd brand has exposure, I believe they expect more ratings to come in Wednesday night. I figured this PPV would help NXT move up in the Wednesday Night Wars against AEW. This week has been an amazing week of Wrestling for Chicago which will conclude with Dynamite this Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

That makes sense, but OTOH whenever a NXT person shows up the crowds pop. They chant NXT, they know the NXT chants, Ciampa was getting Daddy's home chants, Lee getting his Bask in his glory chant, Even WALTER got a chant.

So if NXT is so over why aren't more fans tuning in? And this isn't really new, go through the years and anytime an NXT guy shows up huge pop and NXT chants. I am not saying it should pull 2 Million viewers, but the SD audience that watched on USA on Tuesday more of em should of moved over to Wed night, its even the same channel.

I think there is still a decent portion of fans that will watch on the Network, and if you got rid of it on the Network I think it would gain an addtional 200-300K viewers. Just a theory.

I think they will get a nice bump this week, but the real test will be the following week with no RAW/SDL stars on the show.

Competition to AEW, some DVR NXT or wait for the replay on the Network. Many reasons, but I'm referring to the casual crowd/mainstream audience. Hardcore fans will show up and know. Other casual viewers can follow suit with the chants too. We'll see what happens this Wednesday and the following afterwards.

I want to know how things play out with the brands going forward, it's easy for the NXT guys to be crazy over on a PPV in Chicago, how many would get a real reaction in Corpus Christi? I've for a long time hated Full Sail Crowd, cause it sets crazy expectations. Even Vince watching last night probably heard the chants and immediately was hard for Keith Lee (Who I love), but is Keith Lee gonna get much a reaction against a random heel on Monday Night?

NXT is in a weird spot IMO, cause I miss when it was truly a developmental show that had the occasional indy guy jump to learn the "WWE" way. Now it's just Raw/SD for the Indies. UE, Lee, Shayna, Io all should not be on the developmental brand. Once AEW gets more footing under itself, along with ROH/NJPW/Impact they need to be able to start developing their own talent again without feeding it to the newest indy star. He was never going to be a main eventer, but a guy like Tyler Breeze could easily be a solid midcard act but was buried so many times.

I'm all for competition, but if WWE is going to all of a sudden just stop caring about Raw and SD (Which still get better ratings then NXT) just to chase those Wednesday night wins, I just don't see the need to worry about AEW yet...In fact, competition is good for business (Except when you sign your guys to 5 year deals hoping for the discount). No idea where I'm going with any of this anymore....

LOL NWA is a fucking clip show. Guess they trashed all the Cornette footage. Not bothering with them anymore. I could've watched without Cornette but fuck this.
