Nvidia extends it's market share in gaming GPU sales thanks to the Super series.

Some of you guys need to chill. Constantly calling Nvidia overpriced while praising Amd for launching GPU's that match Nvidia's mid to low high end GPU's from a year earlier.
So how man cards did Nvidia release that are worth upgrading to from a 2 year old 1080ti this year? One. A $1200+ card.

Nvidia gives you the best technologie and performance available at that time and that comes at a price.
Oh jesus we are all doomed. Fanbois, swallowing all the cum since %INSERT_YEAR%®

Beside wtf are you mixing intel now in this, you just show how much fanboy that YOU are wich is ironic because you accuse me of being a fanboy.
I obviously brought Intel up to show that no matter how large a gap seems, things can quickly turn around. I made that quite obvious in my post. Why are you triggered? It's quite clear your ego is too high to admit your own fanboyism.

And you are dellusional if you think the 5700xt beat 1080ti, its not even close and the card that you said that was slower than 1080ti is actually faster lol
I never said it beat it, did i? Here:

nVidia released a card slower than a 1080Ti but charged the same for it with RTX as the excuse. And somehow you are trashing AMD for releasing a card as fast as the 1080Ti that is $100 cheaper?
Where is the lie? And yes, obviously you had to pick 4K results from who knows how old a review, even though neither the 1080Ti nor the 5700XT are adequate for 4K max settings... Nice cherry-picking... What about these?

All margin of error stuff.

Your whole post is cringe worthy. Not even going to respond to an AMD super fanboy such as yourself. You won't listen to reason what so ever. Have a good day.
What an easy cop out. That easily translates to "I actually don't have any evidence that Amazon best-sellers are not indicative of general hardware sale trends, but I'm going to call you a fanboy to not have to answer you".

The 5700XT is the best card to buy at the $400 price point. Bar none. It beats the same card that nvidia (2060 Super) is offering in most benchmarks. That's a fact. I suspect that it will be much easier to find on sale over the next few months than any nvidia card, aside from closeout 2070s which could be the better buy.

"But RTX!"

Here is the thing, RTX is such a performance drag that I seriously doubt that anyone without a 2080 Ti is going to have a pleasant experience with it. With the 2060S, 2070S and heck even the 2080S, it absolutely tanks performance in most instances. In order for RTX to offer a good gameplay experience with the cards that the 5700XT is competing with, it has to be turned down so low that it simply makes just as much sense to turn it off completely since the benefits become barely noticeable, but the performance costs still exist. The 2060S and 2070S offer a teaser of RTX, while the 2080S offers a trailer and the 2080 Ti is an indie film.

I think of RTX as the equivalent of a car's towing capacity with the 2080 Ti being the Ford F150 in that it can do a fair amount of towing (I don't consider anything that nvidia has to be the F250 or F350), the 2080S, being an SUV that has some towing capacity, but less than the F150, the 2070S is a 4 door Ford Focus and the 2060S being a Mustang where the last two can technically tow, but the performance is so pitiful why bother.

My two cents.

It seems to be faster in DX12 and Vulkan, in RDR2 up to 33%:

Only in one game wich is Amd optimised game and at what resolution and frames, meanwhile the benchmark i posted is across 20 games with different genres and engines. And there you can clearly see it lagging behind.

RTX 2070 super, RTX 2080, RTX 2080 Super, RTX 2080ti and Titan RTX. I count 5 cards that are better than the 1080ti with all of them supporting ray tracing, and 2 of them where priced the same while 1 was even cheaper. And if you want to swallow cum of Amd, go ahead and just do it but don't act fucking stupid and childish over some fucking company like a idiot. Its not my or Nvidia gpu owners fault that Amd is lagging soo much behind, its the fault of people like you who blames other people and Nvidia for buying better and newer tech a year earlier. Also all of you still miss the point here, the 5700XT should go against the 2070 Super not against 1080ti. That whas just to show how far behind Amd really is, because the 2070 Super is a better card in every way compared to 5700XT.

And now lets come to you, and again you show that you are a big Amd fanboy by comparing a higly overclocked version of 5700XT against a regular 1080ti, even in that graph you see the base version losing in every resolution against the base 1080ti. Compare it with this version of the 1080ti than, and see how the gap gets even bigger lol

Even in the benchmark you posted the 3 cards are faster yet you claimed that they charged the same for slower cards wich is funny.

Did you see games like BF5, Metro and Control? Even with a 2070 you can get good fps at 1440p with RTX. ofcourse the 2080ti will be the best way the experience it with higher setting but thats what you pay for. This is the first gen of RTX cards, next gen will be even better and than Amd will be behind again because they are gonna release there first gen Ray tracing wich whe still don't now how it will turn out. And even without ray tracing Nvidia cards perform better in general so its not only "but RTX" its everything combined.

So who is cherry picking?
Highly overclocked version of a 5700XT? Give me a break. Gamers Nexus even stopped benchmarking 5700XT graphics cards, because most of them perform practically the same. I deliberately picked that chart because it showed both the reference and an AIB graphics card, and it was the latest that had both in it. The differences are really not that big. But thanks for showing you don't know what you're talking about. You know, like most people that blindly buy nVidia.

Who's cherry picking? Still you, because you're losing your shit over single digit percentages, trying to prove that nVidia is the best thing ever and that AMD sucks. The best graphics card to get right now is the 5700XT. Get over it.

And you said that Nvidia released a card slower than the 1080ti and priced it the same wich is a lie and incorrect. And why are you comparing MSRP of graphics cards that came out years apart? Obviously when the RTX cards came out, the 1080 Ti could be had for a lot lower than $699. Not that I would expect you to understand that, or even think that far. Because you're too busy worshiping nVidia. Maybe, just maybe, I wasn't referring to the RTX 2080.

But congratulations. You just gained the ignore list award.

while nVidia has done the same. They released 4 "1080ti"s this year. And none of them worth upgrading to if you already have a 1080ti.

They didn't release 4 "1080ti's" this year, they released cards that outperform the 1080ti and add RTX in it for the same price and even lower. Ands if you already have a GTX 1080ti, your aim would be the RTX 2080ti or the upcoming RTX 3 series like me. And where is the hypocrisy in my qoute, i stated facts. I showed it with proof, meanwhile you guys attacked me because you can't get over it that Amd is still laggin behind. Do you really think i give a shit about Nvidia or Amd. I just whant the best performance and technologie i can get for my money, and thats where Nvidia is pulling ahead and the reason i own a nvidia GPU right now. Like i told, if Amd can suprise me next year by releasing a monster of a card with the same capabilities as RTX 3 series while keeping the price lower, i will one of the first to buy it believe me. I don't are about green or red.

They didn't release 4 "1080ti's" this year, they released cards that outperform the 1080ti and add RTX

Lol mmmkay. Yes its a fact a 2080 super is on average 5 fps "faster" than 1080ti but are you really going to notice that difference? Really? I guess they are the same then huh? Also don't be daft, no sane person is going to spend double the price they paid for a 1080ti for a 35% to 60% at most performance uplift.

As a matter of fact I have played both of them with RTX on my 2080 Ti and yes I can get decent performance with RTX on using that GPU, but still it was a pretty significant trade off in terms of performance.

As an experiment I dropped the RTX to levels that give playable performance for a 2070 and 2060S and I can tell you that visually at that level of RTX it's very hard to distinguish between RTX and non-RTX, but the performance is noticeable. I'd wager to bet that in a blind (ok it couldn't technically be blind :) test), very few people could correctly and confidently identify the RTX and non-RTX . My advice would be to just leave RTX off and enjoy the better performance. Having RTX on a 2060S and 2070S is the equivalent of saying a Ford Focus has towing capacity, it's technically true, but it's not worth using and you're getting a very watered down experience.

For the record, I did a full RTX playthrough of Metro Exodus and so far it offers the best use of RTX yet when fully utilized. I have yet to play Control on PC, which I hear is currently the best use of RTX, so that could change. I had a good time with that game and got a nice preview of what RTX can bring, but RTX is not ready for prime time and from what I have read nvidia is committing themselves to improving RTX performance on Ampere. That is a must.

Which is why I have no hesitation in saying that the 5700XT is best bang for buck GPU at $400 and I stand by that. The performance is better against the 2060S in most games and is slightly slower than the 2070S, which costs $100 more.

The 5700XT is objectively a faster card at the $400 price point than what nvidia is offering at that price point. What's there to get over? RTX is a tough sell on anything less than a 2080 as you have to turn RTX features down to such low levels on the 2060/2070 that they're barely noticeable and basically you are losing performance for barely better visuals that most people couldn't distinguish between RTX and non-RTX.

So sorry, your statement doesn't ring true.

If amd and intel doesn't do anything in the immediate future, 3000 series is gonna cost a lung or a kidney...

But they are the only choice for 4k60frame gaming...

The super's performance is what the series should have launched with instead of it being a refresh.

I want to upgrade the 1080ti but they haven't given me a compelling reason to do so.

Its not only for the people that own a 1080ti, there are alot of people that have old GPU's that whant to upgrade now and the 2080 super is a very good card if you want 4k gaming with addition of ray tracing. And the RTX 2080 is not the successor of the 1080ti, RTX 2080ti is the successor, even if its more expensive thats the card you should compare it with. The pricing is in every product like that, just look at phones nowedays. They go up to 2000$ but a phone of 500$ can do 70% of what the other phone can do but the expensive one is more rare and only one that can do what it can do. Like the RTX 2080ti, its the only card in that price range that can deliver performance like that. The higher the price go the lesser the performance gains you will see. It is and will be always like that. Back in the day when Amd had high end gpu's, it was the same for them also.

As a matter of fact I have played both of them with RTX on my 2080 Ti and yes I can get decent performance with RTX on using that GPU, but still it was a pretty significant trade off in terms of performance.

The RTX 2060 super runs ray tracing just fine so its only gonna run better on other cards like RTX 2070, 2070 Super, 2080 and 2080 super. You don't need 2080ti just to enjoy ray tracing, the other RTX cards can also do it at lower resolution ofcourse but thats a giving when you see the price.
Also the difference between RTX 2060 super and 5700XT is 4% while the difference between 5700Xt and RTX 2070 Super is 14%. So the RTX 2070 super is the better card right because you say that "The 5700XT is objectively a faster card at the $400 price point than what nvidia is offering at that price point" wich is only 4% while at 100$ more you get 14% better performance and proper ray tracing, so the best deal is 499$ RTX 2070 super right? and the best 699$ deal is RTX 2080 super right? You see you can keep going on with this. The 5700XT is a very good card but for a little more you get a much better card with future technologie.

Yeah... i call fucking bullshit on that one
Did you read the article?

Overall of boards that we sell in desktop, two-thirds of it are now with ray tracing. So we are really pleased with the market adoption of it and of course, there is absolutely more room to grow. We have cards that fit every single type of price points as well as every single type of overall gamer. So you can overall buy a card in the $100 and as well as all the way up to $1000 to participate in ray tracing.
The way we see it, in the future ray tracing will be the underpinnings of gaming and PC gaming. So I think we're just in the initial stages and the amount of ray tracing that we'll see in the future, not only for PC gaming consoles and others, will continue to fuel the overall gaming market. - Colette Kress, NVIDIA CFO

Lets get this straight, 2/3 of NVIDIA GPU's are RTX, not overall GPU's......Also for what period? This period/quarter...…...What you should also note is that more than 2/3 of Turing GPU's are RTX......As a matter of fact you have two 2060 RTX cards, two 2070's, two 2080's a, 2080ti and a Titan RTX, even rumors of a 2080ti Super is coming......Nvidia re-introduced it's 2070 because it was it's highest seller in the Turing lineup prior to the Supers...….They retired it and when they saw that sales was not that great with the super introduction, they re-introduced the plain 2070 at a reduced price to gain traction......

You have to be careful with Nvidia presentations to investors...….They were sued last year, because they misrepresented information to analysts and investors in 2018 and before that.....Their track record is not that great there...

I always find it funny when people call others Nvidia fanboys, most of the people who use Nvidia cards would pick up an AMD card if they could be top performers, fuck trying to save £100 on the cost, I want a fucking blazing card that pushes as hard as it can no matter who produces it.

This has been proven false in the past. Most people would take the opportunity to buy the nVidia cards at reduced prices. Look at the 290X. It was faster than anything out there, even faster than the nVidia Titan, for over 6 months AND cheaper. Barely anyone bought it anyway.

In before "But power consumption, but drivers, but blah blah blah". Yeah. Those are only relevant when it happens to AMD.
Fermi, despite being power hungry, sold more than AMD cards.
nVidia drivers killing cards? Doesn't matter, nVidia is still the best.
nVidia lying about memory on their cards? No matter. Buy nVidia.

RX480 uses slightly more power than PCI-E spec. OMG ENG OF THE WORLD, DO NOT BUY.
5700XT? NO NO NO, DRIVERZZZZZZ, POWER CONSUMPTION, YOUR COMPUTER WILL NOT BOOT WITHOUT RAY TRACING.

Ugh.

I always find it funny when people call others Nvidia fanboys, most of the people who use Nvidia cards would pick up an AMD card if they could be top performers, fuck trying to save £100 on the cost, I want a fucking blazing card that pushes as hard as it can no matter who produces it.
This is absolutely the truth in my own case. I want the best. Until AMD competes at the highest end, then I buy Nvidia. It's that simple.

Ryzen CPUs prove that people want competitive products from AMD. They're willing to buy AMD... if they come with the right product at the right price.

We're waiting Radeon...

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.

This right here is a better deal I have ever seen for a 5700XT and it shreds anything from nvidia at that price point.

Another thing about AMD that is better, is that AMD products seem to go on sale on semi-regular basis. Sales on nvidia GPUs are very rare.
