A few people told me at work that I'm stuck in the 90's and early 00's. I after giving it some thought, yeah, I realize that I am.
I hate most modern things, corporations and generally the way people have become.
I'm a 90's kid, I grew up without internet, phones and modern gimmicks. I actually played outside, had friends etc. Modern kids don't know jack shit.
I played the original ut99 over dial up brah. I prefer old games or games made in that vein. I think corporate environment was ten times better in the 90's.
I hate PC culture and I wholeheartedly reject it. Everything today has become shit, ranging from music to pretty much everything else.
I prefer physical media over digital stuff.
I loved internet back in the day, it was so awesome and it felt like heaven. Then all the normies started flooding in, corporations got involved and now it's an ad infested plague with modernly designed websites that are counterintuitive and are only there to sell you shit you don't need. I prefer talking to people directly instead of over messenger. There's this friend of mine that ask me over messenger how you doing brah, I haven't seen you in a long time, that sort of stuff. So I invite him to grab a coffee and he refuses. He doesn't have the time. But he has the time to write shit over the messenger for half an hour.
I consider myself a fairly smart dude. But I reject a lot of modern things and customs on purpose. Are you similar to this? Are you a diamond that chose to stay coal?

I thought this thread was going to be about people who squander their potential, and in a sense it kind of is.

I try not to reject too many modern things aside from personal taste. You can always find good music being made. You can find ways to use technology to benefit yourself without the social downsides associated with checking your phone every five minutes. You can remain someone all ages of people can talk to by keeping up with pop-culture. You don't have to like or do everything young people seem to like or do, but shutting yourself out from everything you haven't experienced because "things were better in my day" or whatever isn't really a good idea either.

I was never good with socializing and never had much social value attributed to me, I despise the idea of "faking it" as well... I feel better with people who struggled in life, people who can understand and feel real compassion and who really care and who understand the start and finish of his/her own obligations and rights and values... I like real people.

I struggle to find meaning in all the cultural nonsense... the stupidity, the egocentrism, the selfishness, the need this people have to show off, to be seen... all now pushed to new limits thanks to the internet... I don't understand it.... I don't think I fit in anymore... even though I kind of never did...

My feelings are the same.

Normies ruined the internet and now bring internetisms in to real life to ruin that with ruined internet speak.

I'm a mineral, Marie!

But yes, I hate most modern things. Music, especially. I hate how some "artist" is popular for a few years and everyone sucks their nuts as being some prodigy of the world, only to latch onto what Facebook tells them is the next popular thing they're supposed to like.

Yeah I grew up before internet, phones etc too but I didn't get "stuck" in a certain age. Pop culture has always had a lot of dumb shit to sift through to find the good stuff, that's nothing new.

I hate anything that auto backups. Prefer to manually handle it all. Entertainment Media is 90% garbage these days too. Dont really have much else to reject...

Pretty bizarre tbh, to initiate contact then refuse to meet up. Did he want something from you?
