I know and I'm not blind:messenger_grinning_smiling:
I guess I'm talking about 2020 games for Switch in general and should have worded it better, but oh well, what's done is done.

P5S could also release next year in EU / NA, probably closer to August / September (~6 months after release on Japan). As for SMT V, even if they'll release this game next year.... knowing Atlus, Japan will be the first to get it and ~6 months later they'll release it in EU/NA just like they did with Wii U version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, so it can be 2021 game for the rest of the world, unless you'll import it. I doubt that we'll get new Mario game next year cuz first they still need to port 3D World from Wii U and maybe in 2021-22 well get new Mario game.
I’m hoping SMTV will be the first title that Atlus release it both in Japan and west at same day but thats just my wishful thinking.

It's about time for them to drop this ~6-8 months exclusivity for Japan, it makes absolutely no sense in today's day and age and for the rest of the world to wait that long. Sure, release some exlusive LE or CE for Japan only, whatever, I've no pronlem with that.

The bigger issue is when this game come close to Japanese release date Atlus will drop trailers for it daily, to point it will almost spoil everything about the and in the west we still full year to get this game.

There's this thing called complete media blackout and It helps a lot - games, TV shows, movies....

I really want to like AC, but there's *nothing* meaningfully new :/ Woohoo, you can do the same things as always ... but now you have to craft them first! :/

Let me use *all* the furniture! Let me drive through town using the moon car. Introduce romancing other villagers. Stuff like that. You know: ambition.

In no way is this a reliable site, but its going around twitter. Do not take this rumor as true.

Who manages these trash sites anyways? They prolly just do this for the traffic.

So much for that W101 Port dream.

Doubt. Wonderful 101 is a Nintendo published game, therefore in their stable of IP, as how 99% of publishing deals work (a notable exception being Destiny).

Why would Platinum be working with other publishers to bring out Nintendo’s IP? Even Kamiya said it was dependent on Nintendo, when asked.

I don’t have any invested stake in this game I’ve never played, other than wanting fans to be happy, but this reeks of making up things for ‘Insider knowledge’.

your probably right, and it’s these situations where I hope it’s in the next direct just to knock the insiders down a couple bars.

Alright, if the Direct is on January 9th (thursday as usually), we have only few days left to announce it. Either today (Friday) or Monday, I guess. An announcement even closer to the event seems unlikely since a big Direct is expected.

Ofc the Direct could also happen a week later - but screw that 🐧

I hate this feeling when you're expecting to get a Direct, so you wait in anticipation for the next possible chance that it'll be announced.

The wait for the announcement of the Direct is more painful then the wait for the Direct itself and now I can't help but get hyped for it.

At least I'm not on Resetera where hype levels would be on the rise and reach insane levels.

I'm well past insanity. All those people seem to hype are lame Wii U-ports or Mario-games.

New Monolith Soft-ip reveal or THE WHOLE YEAR IS SHIT!!1 🐧

Oh look, now even insider Emily reports how shit Q1/Q2 will bem plus 2 more Wii U-ports :/

I say this as someone who is optimistic about this year.

My only concern about 2020 is that Nintendo might lean a little too hard on re-releases of older stuff as a crutch to fill out their calendar. Nintendo has already officially announced Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Xenoblade Chronicles 1 remaster/remake for this year. I can also confirm that Nintendo has (at least) two more unannounced Wii U ports. They are not difficult to guess because there aren't many Wii U games left to port.

Also, if you aren't into Animal Crossing, then the first 3-4 months of 2020 won't be super amazing for you personally. Nintendo is obviously treating Animal Crossing as their big March title, so that's something people will just need to accept. And as we saw with 2019, Nintendo likes to dump most of their biggest releases in the second half of the year. Which typically makes the pacing for the first half of the year slower by comparison.

I'll believe it when I see it, I don't trust Emily at all, he seems to just make guesses

If it happens I want one to be Devil's Third LOL

Something about not counting your chickens before they’re hatched, but ports or no, Pikmin 3 and SM3DW would be such, such, great additions to the library.

3D World, with the multiplayer focus, would probably feel more at home on the Switch, than it ever did on the Wii U.

Probably not gonna happen unless Nintendo steps in with the localization, and as we saw with Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Atlus doesn't want to do that.

The best we can hope is an SMT port (Nocturne?) while we wait for V, that shouldn't have delays if they just bring the old localization.

Yeah sometimes the decisions Atlus makes boggles the mind, Thanks for Phantom Strikers though :messenger_neutral:.

That seems BS.

Nintendo published the original release of TW101, and probably funded the game considering it was Wii U exclusive there is only one company that can publish the game on Switch again and that's Nintendo.

Also most Platinum games are niche, that's not a great argument either.

Re-Selling a 7 year old video game for $60 that you can buy right now for $15............................. Thanks Nintendo..........................

The magic of consumer choice is that you don’t have to buy it.

You want that $15 copy? Play your old one? You go for it.

Plenty of people on the other hand, like these ports. They gain a true portable element, better resolution, and sometimes, certain Switch features. That’s without mentioning that a lot of Wii Us have been packed away at this point, and some would like to play the game in a convenient form.

That’s if somebody even owned a Wii U in the first place. What’d you say? 7 years? That’s enough time for an entirely new generation to be gaming, much less all the people who skipped the system.

Take me for an example big of a Nintendo nerd as I am I failed spectacularly and skipped the Wii U as Imagine a few people did. I do not mind paying full price for these ports, Heck I even re bought ports like Dead by Daylight and the Witcher 3 just for the convenience of playing them in an airplane or hotel room because I travel so often for work, but as -Arcadia- -Arcadia- stated that's the beauty of having a choice.

Yeah, in my case I have a Wii U, but I find it cumbersome to use nowadays, so I’d much rather have the game on Switch.

I do wish they weren’t full price, though or at least give people who own the Wii U version an option to purchase the Switch version at 50% off.

Kind of bewilders me that they haven't ported 3d World yet tbh. Such a great game trapped on such a crap system :/

I’d like that too, but when a company sells 20 million copies of a Wii U port at full price, and it leads all software sales for the system... : P

They’re probably trying to spread out the ports to pad their lineup and alleviate release scheduling issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo has a few games already ported and is just sitting on them until the time is right. I’m sure there are a bunch in the pipeline as well.

Super Mario 3D World will probably sell at least as well as the initial release. It’s almost like brand-new Mario game to a lot of Switch users. Nintendo is probably just waiting for a dead spot in their lineup to release it.

Unless Nintendo has something Mario-related planned for this year, the time seems really right, too.

You could argue that Nintendo didn’t want to interfere with the recently-launched, and hugely successful, Odyssey in 2018. Last year had two different Mario games, and a Luigi one, so that was probably a no-go, as well.

This year? The runway seems clear.

Probably nothing, but this is also making rounds. Coinciding with the World Ends with You Sequel Rumors?

Platinum didn't. USgamer made up a clickbait headline from an interview that doesn't say that. Probably why the tweet is deleted.
Yeah, just read the article, you're right.

"Last year, we said that 2019 would be a year where the curtain rises for a new stage for PlatinumGames," Sato says. "We're a bit late on that, but I believe we'll have several big announcements to deliver early in the new year, so please look forward to that."

Doesn't mention Bayo 3
