Honestly, my real joy from this thread is being able to express opinions about shit over there. I can't *do* that over there without catching a ban. I'm not talking about saying I hate black people or Jews run the world or anything. Read the examples here, you literally cannot post there with anything but the allowed opinions without getting modded.
This is great release, and also at times hilarious. There's a ton of unhinged people over there that get to run unchecked (Prominent members never really went away). That could be an issue if he doesn't make any exceptions. There are at least 3 alt account holders with 20k+ posts on their main account, probably more. He'd be cutting activity by A LOT, which is sure to piss off Cerium.
That said, getting rid of the idea of "protected posters" would actually make the site more respectable imo. Was already surprised to see someone like Rustynails not given any slack despite his activity levels.
If they updated their TOS to remove the whole advocating violence thing (because let's be honest, they'll never enforce that when the target is "correct"), then they'd be consistent and there'd really be little to get worked up over and we can all just sit back and laugh at the place.

Has anyone else noticed that the top 20 posters on Neogaf are guys who split off even after all this time? It really shows how many of the posts were the same group of users over and over again. I suspect Reset is the same way and there's only around 30 or 40 active users that post 700 posts a day.

They took out another one of my alts last week. Ho Hum, just took another pre-registered unused junior account out of the clone tank. The "Create a character" and "Loadout" is the best part while you're getting the account out of Junior phase.
It's gotten a lot easier now that those lovely Indian fellows on the gig sites like Fiverr (But not actually Fiverr) will just sell you an account for a few dollars. Shit usernames though.

Eh, if there's actual verifiable evidence, I'd be pursuing a libel case over actually getting back the community that abandoned me. The radicalized ones over there won't look at any evidence nor would they believe it even if EL actually won the case. At the very least, it sends a message and would be a slam dunk case as far as proving a loss in income goes.

In terms of actual legal action against them it would create a number of problems
If you did sue their asses off and that site imploded....where would they go and who would they have it out for.....reee will probably implode at some point but it needs to be their own doing and they are doing a fine job by themselves, if the cause of the site dying is the result legal action causing cerium investment not being financially viable anymore then this site is going to get overun by reeeeetards and well forever be known as the bad guys...which we are not.....it's only a matter of time you just need to sit back with your popcorn and enjoy the show.
Probably the next biggest thing and more important thing is dragging someone's personal life back through the mud again
What happened here was not just a website being ripped apart by a group of people but there was someone's personal life being paraded around and people judging his character without actually knowing the person or having actual evidence...this site evilore invested a lot of time and effort into and I'm guessing is still a very large chunk of his time....having people trying to take this from you and also kicking you in the balls around your character and actions....i would not want to go revisiting it again

Whether gaf's 2017 downfall was a coordinated effort or not is besides the point. It had developed a poor reputation that wasn't exclusive to the anti-sjws and whatnot. People had a vested interest in it going down, whether it be from alt-right trolls, sane people in the industry, or even journalists who hated Evilore. The implosion was celebrated by virtually everyone outside the site and a good chunk of the people on it.
Era has had that same reputation for at least a year now and it gets worse by the day both internally and externally. Even people that hate Evilore would latch onto a lawsuit to bring it down, though there would obviously be many that would just cry fowl over the whole thing over there. But that doesn't matter because it's up to the law and not a message board with a few thousand active posters at most. And if they somehow find their way back here, I can't imagine they'd stay long when the culture is so wildly different and what's allowed runs so contrary to their beliefs that they end up having an aneurysm over it. Nah, Era's death would basically have them scatter to Discord and Twitter, fragmenting the community once and for all with little hope of joining together once more.
