I’m starting to think AEW is the worst thing to happen to Kenny that could have. He has power to do dumb stuff that he thinks is funny, where nipw and wwe would have packaged him as the best performer in the world. Who would want that when you can wrestle women, and fight the likes of Joey Janella and job to every ex wwe guy possible.

AEW Dynamite gets big ratings win this week with NXT back live

Following the holiday season, the Wednesday Night Wars were back to their normal schedule last night -- and AEW was the clear ratings winner by a big margin.

This week's Dynamite averaged 947,000 viewers, down two percent from last week. The rating in the important 18-49 demo was a 0.36, good for sixth on the night on cable and matching last week's number in that category.

Dynamite did particularly strong with men in that age range, averaging a 0.49 rating.

NXT failed to finish in the top 50 for the night in the 18-49 demo for the second week in a row. After positive momentum since NXT's showing at Survivor Series, the show's ratings have fallen the last two weeks, perhaps meaning that airing what were essentially studio shows on Christmas and New Year's Day killed the brand's ratings momentum.

NXT was up 32 percent in total viewers from last week's year in review episode, averaging 721,000 viewers. That was still the show's second lowest number since October 30.

In the 18-49 demo, NXT finished 55th for the night on cable with a 0.19 rating, up 27 percent from last week. The show had gotten as high as 0.3 in that demo during the Survivor Series build, so that's a huge drop.

Here's a look at the last 10 weeks of ratings and viewership totals for both shows:

Working my way through AEW this week:

I'm sick of this Kenny/Page thing, either do something or don't...i just don't care anymore. Private Party need work, why do they make the main show when Angelico/Evans live on Dark?

Womens Title Match...Where do you begin with this fucking mess. Kris S is awful, green as shit and...an Alien? Brandi....should never talk, just look pretty. I don't know what a Luther is, and I don't care, why is he in a female group? Big Swol is the dumbest name I have ever heard...like ever. This match was awful and so much interference and nonsense that made no sense. This womens division is horrible right now and a complete mess. They should have done a midcard male title before introducing the female belt IMO, they have no direction for it and it shows.

I think I need a break already from this episode. The first 45 minutes are some of the dumbest shit I've seen in a while....

Back at it:

Why is Pentagon wasting his time on CD? Why is somebody as good as him not being used even remotely in a good way?

Either make the Dark Order something to fear, or drop them completely for a long while. This whole going after jobbers to join them is beyond dumb. I would have preferred something where they actually had a bigger power/leader, a main event level talent to legitimize them.

Sings: Lucha Bros, Mexicans, I hate this intro, make it go away.

I don't care how many more people and gimmicks get added to Cody, he's still midcard trash. I love Arn as much as the next guy, but this whole thing is DUMB. If a guy needs to have his wife, his dog, DDP, MJF, Dustin, and now Arn to come out with him, maybe he should ask why he can't be more interesting on his own. Fucking Create a Wrestler trash that gets cheers from the mark fans who love AEW and since he's the boss he gets the pops. No different then HHH with NXT

Fucking Rhodes beating the Lucha Bros? Must be nice to run the company Jeff Jarrett....That stupid springboard stunner is one of the worst looking moves and I can't recall anybody that has done one that isn't awful. Lucha Bros are right up there with Kenny for people being completely mis-used in AEW. I could be seeing Pentagon/Fenix going at it with the Undisputed Era, but instead I get to see them job here in AEW....

2020 we've got Tony interviewing Arn Anderson...TNA TNA TNA!!! Leave it to Cody and AEW to push me back to the awful world of the WWE....

DDP? 2020? Ugh. I like his yoga, but can somebody please feed the DDP? He looks like a walking skeloton in the face. So I have to ask, why does DDP get more mic time then Kenny and half the roster combined? The best thing happening this segment is Allie :messenger_heart: She's gorgeous. Well, I suppose that's one way to get Butcher and Blade over...have them made look dumb to a 60 year old man.

Continuing on...why? I don't know anymore. Marko Stunt is beyond dumb and needs to go away. Maybe at least I can have a little fun with Best Friends and OC in action. There's the weekly JR saying he loves the Chuck Taylor shoes, and calling Jungle Boy Jungle Jack Perry, don't know why but that bugs me. NM, less then a minute in and I've got that stupid Stunt kid trying to fight a real man. This indy shit needed to stay in the fucking indies....these dudes really need to refuse to sell for this guy. I can't take Trent seriously after solid singles action and then selling for a 70 pound nothing. Wrong team wins of course, this is TNA after all.

10 minutes left in the show...so 10 minutes of Jericho talking...yeah that's what people want for their main event. Ending was beyond predictable, would have liked to see him side with them for a week or two before rushing this.

For somebody who considers themselves an AEW fan, this was 2 of the worst hours of wrestling I've watched in a while...and I watched fucking Raw this week.

Say what you will about WWE, but I'm pretty sure one of their talents tweets that out with those tags they are wiped from existence for a very long time.

Scrull staying in ROH and he is also the booker.

Big loss for AEW I am sure his buddies were fully expect him to be coming in.
I'm kind of glad he stayed. ROH hasn't been great since getting bought out by Sinclair and then losing their top talent hurt them a lot. They need a big star like Scrull that can carry them.

I legit don't know much about ROH these days, but is making him booker a good idea?

He didn't have great options, in WWE he'd be loved in NXT and then barely scratch the midcard if he made the callup, and look at the clusterfuck that is the midcard of AEW. He'd be lost in the shuffle before he even debutted. He would have been an interesting mystery leader for the Dark Order though.

It's possible that the Dark Order could just settle with BROKEN Matt Hardy being the Dark Order's leader once he's done with WWE

ROH has been in the pits lately and Bully Ray was the booker. All though I think its more of a talent then booking issue but you have to also question having guys like Tavern and PCO as the main title holders.

Not sure if Marty will be a great booker and not sure how great it is to give the big star and most likely highest paid guy the book but we will see what happens. ROH's problem is lack of talent with the Elite and UE in NXT/WWE.

For WWE its not a big deal, but I think this stings for AEW. WWE is probably happy that he is staying in ROH/NWA as opposed to being a name that can show up on Wed night. Personally I think NXT almost has too much talent and they can always bring in unused guys from UK/Main roster to spice things up.

Holy crap, just looked at the current ROH roster. That is some drizzling shits right there. Not a single dude there I'd consider "The Guy", hell not sure anybody there is qualified to job to "The Guy". Buncha just regular looking dudes that don't come near that superstar look. Like I know you need to build your own stars, but FFS you gotta have somebody interesting to get people to watch the youth (Not sure there is alot of that on the roster either). This roster is what it looks like when WWE signs everybody and their kid to NXT from the indies and these promotions don't have their own training centers like WWE and WCW used to have.

Rumors are that Marty got "main roster" money whatever that means, and Tavern was also given the biggest deal in ROH allegedly.

Its bad business when you break the bank for those guys, but let guys like the Bucks and Omega walk, as well as the entire Undisputed Era including Adam Cole. And thats not even talking about Priest and Dijakovic (Punishment Martinez and Dijak). And I am sure Keith Lee would of been an ROH guy if HHH didn't snatch him up.

Its a little too late on opening the purse strings.

Yup that's for sure. Hell if you are gonna pay something bring in Brodie Lee, at least he is huge and can work and fits the ex-WWE mold that fans want to see when they hit the indies. With AEW starting to realize they overpaid huge for most of their roster ROH could scoop up all the disgruntled WWE guys at solid values that AEW won't pay out.

Brian Cage to AEW. I think thats a bigger get than Marty actually.

AEW can highlight him properly I think he has a chance to become a star.

only concern with Cage is he always becomes a star in dying companies. LU and now Impact.

His in ring style will fit right in with AEW and he will look like a monster. Hopefully he doesn't succumb to AEW's 50/50 booking. I could also see him going into a feud with Cody and not Mox/Jerhico

Well, they did it. They made Tessa the champion. Might as well. Anything to try and create some buzz. She's as credible a lady as you can get. imo. Sad to see Cage go but that seems to be Impacts role now. Developmental for WWE and now AEW.

Oh and If I never see another canadian destroyer again it'll be too soon. That shit has become the new ddt. It use to be an amazing protected move that Petey Willams did. Now it's everywhere.
