Also would think you know this being such a big fan but PS4 was revealed at E3 2013-not Sony’s own event.
The only console Sony has revealed on their own to my knowledge is the Pro and that event was pretty bad.
Let’s hope they go for a bigger and better venue this time.

E3 2013 was the reveal of the console itself, true.
But the announcement and details were revealed in feb 2013 during their own event.
That's what I'm referring to. One can o ly assume they will do a complete reveal this time, compared to 2013.
But yeah, nothing has been confirmed yet, so it's anyones guess at this point.

Oh, they've been "holding back" this whole time?
I expect we'll get a small look at some of the next-gen software that wasn't ready for the launch year, some of their own cross-gen stuff (hopefully Gears Tactics!), and some 3rd party cross-gen stuff. And I hope they keep the CG trailers to a minimum. What exactly are you expecting when they've already said they have no next-gen software ready for the first year?

E3 is going to be about game. They'll show Series X before E3,and probably use DF to do the breakdown like they did with the X.
The message will be sound and concise. No foul ups this time. People keep doubting Microsoft but this isn't the same Xbox from last gen. The Xbox division is just as big as Sonys gaming division these days, and growing.
Its like people have been living under a rock with all the moves they've made over the last couple of years. Clearly this is a whole new bag. Xbox is poised to - at the very least -be a heavy competitor to Sony, with more than enough to actually take next gen, if they play their cards right.
Like I said before, people see what they wanna see. But Microsoft is fully ready to take it to the mattresses next gen, like they've never been before. E3 will be the start of it. They'll have plenty to show. Plenty!

The best versions of next gen games, regardless of cross gen. One or two acquisitions, One or two IP reboots from the past with next gen flair! Heavy roll out and addition of Xcloud with GP. Regardless, this E3 will be a precise, near perfect look at what's to come. Sony will make headlines when they announce. But so will Microsoft. They have excellent momentum right now.

Think of all the other great things you could do and say with a trade industry event completely focused on you and your press conference.
MS literally will be the central factor of E3 this year.

MS have to do a metric shit ton of work.
Sony released many, many exclusives and quality reboots and remakes this gen - very very rarely dropping projects all cancelling them.
These all released and are likely to see sequels soon into the PS5’s life cycle.
They also released and supported VR - maybe not the best unit but for the price it was fine - again they did this with many, many exclusives.
MS on the other hand showed games over and over and over again at E3’s then outright cancelled them.
They showed Holo Lens and Minecraft - again it didn’t happen.
Sony will come out with New IP’s, Sequels, Quality Remasters & an upgraded VR again - with exclusives.
They will also have some form of subscription, BC and streaming service as well as deals with third parties.
What has MS actually got?
Third parties, Halo, GOW & Forza and game pass.
It’s the most vanilla offering gaming has ever seen.
Coupled with that - no Series X exclusives at launch or over 1 year?! Man what a great sales pitch...

The irony and hypocrisy in those tweets is incredible. The reason Sony no longer wants to attend E3 is they want it to change from being mainly a press event, with the vast majority of attendees being reporters and insiders, to being a fan celebration, like Gamescom and Comic-Con, with 100s of thousands of fans attending. I guess MS prefers the more controlled environment where they just have to worry about sweet talking reporters.

Haven't really paid attention to E3 since the current generation consoles were released. Since there aren't really any major announcements that don't get leaked beforehand anymore, I guess I just lost interest. Will be interesting to see how this goes.
