Nintendo Switch has sold 52.48 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2019, Nintendo announced in its latest earnings release.

A total of 10.81 million Switch hardware and 64.64 million software were sold during the three months ended December 31.

Nintendo has revised its previously announced forecast that it will sell 18 million Switch units between April 2019 and March 2020 to 19.5 million units.

Nintendo also shared updated sales numbers for its first-party Switch titles, revealing the first official numbers for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, and Luigi’s Mansion 3. The 10 best-selling first-party Switch titles are:

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 22.96 million
2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 17.68 million
3. Super Mario Odyssey – 16.59 million
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 16.34 million
5. Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield – 16.06 million
6. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! – 11.76 million
7. Splatoon 2 – 9.82 million
8. Super Mario Party – 9.12 million
9. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 5.85 million
10. Luigi’s Mansion 3 – 5.37 million

Nintendo also announced additional sales numbers, including:

• The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening – 4.19 million
• Fire Emblem: Three Houses – 2.58 million
• Ring Fit Adventure – 2.17 million
• Astral Chain – 1.03 million
• Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order – 1.02 million

More than 310.65 million Switch games have been sold worldwide.

Switch got intense games too but I don’t buy it for those games. I buy it for Nintendo games. Getting out of the usual bubble is great and healthy. Do it mate, you won’t regret it.

I think Pokemon is very front load franchise sales wise but they could pump it on annual basis without any problem because of brand power.

Well deserved. Switch has kinda reinvented the way I play. The flexibility and convenience of the console is allowing me more play time due to me working and traveling so much.

I've never been much for handheld gaming but Switch just seals the deal for me. Playing AAA games on the go is just... wow, never seen anything like it before. I just love the hybrid nature of it. The library of games is incredible with awesome games that keeps coming in a steady flow.

Happy to see solid sales for Astral Chain, that game is pure fire and brimstone. Gotta grab Luigi's Mansion too, looks superfun.

Switch is the console that just keeps on giving.

Same for sure. The ability to go between TV and handheld is amazing really. I prefer the latter as it's more comfy and I feel more engrossed — perhaps due to the screen being closer to my eyes. I've been struggling to play 'traditionally' just on the TV with my other consoles since owning the Switch.

i never said its underpowered and being underpowered has never been a reason not to buy a console. the problem the switch will face, and I think anyone who denies it is really blind sighted, is the fact that their whole concept is based on the PLAY EVERYWHERE, which will get some real competition from Sony and xbox going into next gen.

I would also like to add, I really hope that the switch has a answer to this, i cant imagine the gaming world without nintendo.

Good to see nintendo handhelds still selling well. Maybe it can overtake the DS if they are lucky.
