Welp, Funimation just decided to create some (more) publicity regarding piracy: they decided to drop Ishuzoku Reviewers after they've started dubbing it.

to be fair it was already weird for them to pick this up, or even start dubbing it.
I mean they must’ve seen the Taiwanese uncensored intro 2 weeks ago (spread legs, vags and assholes without mosaic censorship)... with an intro like that it was already obvious that this show will turn into hentai, or will cross some boundaries. The author and director even said that they’ll go farther and farther with each episode... so episode 3 didn’t surprise me, except for the loli tits/sex scene. That was a bit much, even for my degenerate ass.

I’m curious about the BDs, though, the Japanese BDs won’t have that uncensored Taiwanese intro, but I wonder if the ROW BDs will have it.

They probably thought it would be a Monster Musume "standard fanservice" show with just random boobs & ass, and they found out what really happens way later.

Ironically, Funimation are the ones who licensed Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, which is another B&A-heavy show, but that was two years before the Sony acquisition.

A sincere fuck you to funimation. Not that I cared for that company in the first place, being from europe and having no access to their site and giving zero shit about anime dubs.

Will there ever be a English Dubbing, parody manga? Do modern mangaka have the willpower to do one!? Now seems ripe for a satire manga on the english dub industry.

Ishuzoku Reviewers EP04 Fell Offa Back Of A Truck Guv'na, Honest! edition

Holy shit. She was slapping her wet vadj against the glass!!!

Yyeahh, I can see why Funimation would balk at this. I don't accept or condone it (the fuck they were doing licensing it in the first place?!?), but I can see them going "whoa, wait, this isn't what we signed up for", since the show goes a bit further than the manga in some parts.

I bought volume one of one piece and Akira. Don't know which to start with.
Akira is one of three on my physical copy priorities list, the others being Blade of the Immortal and Berserk. I've read a bunch of Berserk digitally in the past so I really would like the whole lot in physical form.

I think I've finished my Ito collection of available English translations. Amazon showed up today with these.

I was going to go with BotI but the prices were too good on these through Amazon.

Are any of the new animes any good?
I haven't really liked any I've seen since Death Parade or Space Dandy.
I would say no. I stopped watching new stuff in like 2015 and most new stuff just looks generic as fuck or just bad.

I'm right though. It's like how in video games you hear the same handful of people too. Shits annoying. Plus it's always better to watch things in the original language.

I just can't follow subtitles and watch what's going on at the same time. Maybe I'm tarded. I don't know. I just like dubs better, but that's what I have always watched.

In terms of new stuff, there's always something good every year, but the surprise standout is Attack on TItan. At this point, for me, as long as they stick the landing, it might take the top spot for #1 anime and one of the best pieces of entertainment (knocking out Fullmetal Alchemist, Kill La Kill, Tatami Galaxy, etc.).

Yeah, my favorite anime Youtuber Gigguk emphasized hard just how amazing it is how AOT keeps getting better and better and says he's heard most manga readers says the quality will remain consistently high at least up to where the manga is right now. I'm personally waiting for the series to conclude before getting back into it (only seen Season 1), but I'm certainly looking forward to one hell of a binge watch.

Shhh. Some people like their shitty generic cliche anime because they've only seen about 5 series before.

lol, Mr. "Not a Weeb" on his "I watch way more anime than you" high-horse. Here's a character from one of your fave series. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Feel free, man. I don't mind. I'd like to hear some sound points on why you think it's not all that. Brap is also free to provide some actual points instead of a drive-by shit-spray.

Don't know man. Yes it is a very nice anime and all that but the best new anime? Nah bruv. Dororo, Vinland Saga, and plenty more.

But we have to understand each other and what do you consider new? Like from which year is new?

OK. Mr. Entry Level that just started watching shit like 2 years ago and thinks his opinion holds any weight. Which Marvel movie do you think is the greatest action movie ever?

Who the fuck even is this ugly fuck?

The anime expert Brap says he stopped watching it after 2015. So let's go with 2015. First Season of AoT came out in 2013. It was an impressive rollercoaster action anime, but it seemed like it would be one-note going forward. Then the latest seasons came out in the last few years and blew people away. Insane shit. That's #1 for me. Outside of it having an action-bend to it with young protags, I would not call it generic at all.

The other great ones since 2015 would be Re:Zero, March Comes in Like a Lion, Kono Subarashi (excellent comedy), Made in Abyss (even though the creator is obviously a pedo), One Punch Man season 1, and Space Patrol Luluco.

OK. Mr. Entry Level that just started watching shit like 2 years ago and thinks his opinion holds any weight. Which Marvel movie do you think is the greatest action movie ever?

Brap, you're talking out of your ass right now so hard. So many assumptions. However, I don't want to get into a juvenile argument about who started watching anime earlier, who watched more. Just either support your claims or don't. Attacking me with assumptions is boring as fuck.

Who the fuck even is this ugly fuck?

Berserk Side-kick. You a poser?

Edit: What's blowing me away, is Brap is saying this shit to a dude with a Tatami Galaxy profile pic. Yeah, real entry-level generic anime there. Good luck convincing your online lady-boy pen-pal to watch that shit with you as a first go at animu.

I took a break because I had too much shit going on around that time and couldn't keep up with anything.

Yeah, if it's the first anime you ever saw. How many have you seen? 4?

Just going off what you say. So I guess I'm right about you watching a handful of modern anime and nothing else. Attack on Titan must be the best because you saw 3 other ones. I think Avengers Infinity War is the greatest action movie because Avengers are the only action movies I watch.

Berserk Side-kick. You a poser?
Never read Berserk and never claimed to.

No. You're very wrong.

This is so utterly stupid, Brap. This is troll levels of dumb and what makes it worse is I know you're not even trolling. Again, bring up some actual points we can discuss, otherwise, there's nothing left to say.

Also, what's not modern to you, some shit from the 70s? I'm not a fan of Marvel, but I love Mad Max Fury Road. Does that bother you though cause it came out in the last 10 fucking years? How old are you dude? I thought you said you're a millennial? You mean like a a millennium old?

Gintama is the no 1 anime and it's not even close. This is a fact

That could be true, but I'm only around 25 episodes into Gintama so far.

The start is the weakest part of Gintama. Once they start doing arcs and callbacks to previous stuff it just takes off. When i first watched it i didn't understand what people were talking about for a while but it was so worth it

I mean we all knew it was coming, but the fact that we now know the episode count and that it isn't actually canceled...

help us all.

10 episodes for East Blue?

So an episode to establish Luffy and Shanks interspersed with Coby and Alvida, 1-2 episodes for Zoro and Morgan, one episode for Buggy (could be skipped I guess), two episodes for Usopp, Kaya, and Kuro (the Kuro twist being at the end of the first episode), 1-2 episodes for Sanji and Baratie, 2 episodes for Nami and Arlong, and 1-2 episodes for Loguetown and Reverse Mountain (seeing Laboon is a good season cliffhanger).

It is going to feel rushed as fuck if they try to fit in backstory and development for all the East Blue Strawhats, and will feel disjointed if they do not. There is going to be a load of CGI between Luffy, Buggy, Krieg, Arlong and the other fishmen, and Smoker, and I can't see it being good.

And of course you don't like it because you don't understand any of the references because you've seen 5 anime.

Modern anything is basically like from the last ~10 years. IF MMFR is one of the few action movies you've seen and you act like it's one of the best of course your opinion doesn't mean jack shit.
I've been watching anime for about 20 years now and you see this type of shit everywhere.

More whack assumptions. What are you trying to do Brap? Man, read the shit you're posting. You wrote, "Well of course you feel this way about this anime" even though I didn't indicate in any way whatsoever how I feel about it.

Again you are insanely wrong. I love Gintama so far, but I watch it very sporadically since it's a comedy and I don't feel the need to binge.

We can't talk about anime Brap, you got me fired up with your straight up BS.

Nobody said it was. What do people even give a shit about anymore that isn't long running shounen? I looked through all the season charts (*sips* yep back in my day they were just huge png images) and everything looks generic for the most part.
Can't wait to watch Chuukan Kanriroku Tonegawa

All I know is O-N-E has seen Tatami Galaxy and loved it (as one should) so I'm rolling my eyes at the concept that they're a shonen casual or whatever as I bet there's probably at least a decent amount of people in this thread who haven't seen this amazing anime. Pretty sure anyone who loves TG of all series has seen more 5 anime.

Then again, I could get blindsided like I did with my co-worker who has seen only shonen anime but one very notable exception.

Me: So what anime have you seen?
Co-worker: Dragonball, Bleach, Naruto-
Me (thinking): Ah, a mainstream shonen fan. Well, that's fine-
Co-worker: Gunslinger Girl.
Me: ........wait, what?

It's like talking to a person about movies, and they're doing on and on solely about action films with the likes of Stallone or Schwarzenegger, and then suddenly they go, "oh yeah, and Black Swan was an interesting exploration of how horrifying a descent into madness can be."

just watched all 4 eps so far of Ishuzoku Reviewers and as a manga reader, I really like the amount of work they put into this series. I mean the manga isn't bad or anything but it's also not really the best drawn work out there either. the anime however have surprising amount of production value in it.

I can understand Funimation dropping it, thou they really shouldn't have picked it up in the first place to start with. I won't count it as hentai but it's definitely just dancing on the line on that one. to be honest thou, I feel the series is actually pretty good in terms of spreading some positive message regarding the sex industry. I honestly don't understand what the "woke" folks are upset about (I assume there's some uproar regarding this anime? probably something about objectifying female or something?). all the working girls are there out of their free will, earning an honest living (or in the case of the latest eps with the lower succubus, getting their own rocks off). it promotes a pretty positives view regarding sex work and sexuality, and it also seems to put a lot of thought into some of the details of the "industry".

At least AoT is ending soon. Doesn't drag a single bit, which on its own puts it ahead of the generic shounen pack. I believe Kimetsu no Yaiba is going the same route. That 20 to 40 volume range is the sweet spot.
Actually read Kimetsu and the last idk 30 or so chapters is just dragging shit like a mf and the quality has gone to hell. Sorta like how Fire Force had a decent beginning and the it started to focus on shit characters and the story got worse something that seems to be the norm in most manga. :/

Aw, that sucks to hear. Hopefully, the adaptation tightens it up. The AoT mangaka worked closely with the anime team to make sure things like pacing problems were taken care of.

I'm talking about what are people actually watching that isn't long running shounen? There's like 50 fucking new shows every season. Basically why I just stopped watching new stuff unless I know the series.
Just do the 3 episode test on something that looks appealing. There are seasonal charts on top of multiple recommendations across the net and even in this thread.
