I agree with this. If a post gets deleted, its within my right to know the reason.

It can come as a notification since you get notified when a post is deleted

Can I just say how good it is to have you back, Tess? You’ve had me laughing out loud in several threads now. That AOC/Horse Girl thing, especially.

Somebody, I think Dun Dun, said you left a Wolverine-sized hole in the board. It’s so true. Certain posters have a major influence on a board, for the better, and you’re one of them.

I hope you got whatever you needed out of that break, and are having a great time being back too.

It's like any forum feature - it's there whether or not you decide you want to use it. Like when we were talking about the New Posts page and I explained how it's convenient for others who want to save time viewing all the threads in one place.

Good for you if you want to stick to using your current name but you've also been here far longer than me, long before the feature was introduced. You got used to Nymphae after almost 7 years.

lol I do, just chalk it up to a brain fart, it happens. The data speaks for itself, barring some sort of weird post moving bug in the system, or mod shenanigans, which I find more unlikely than a human brain misremembering or being mistaken (happens all the time).

I do understand like picking a really shitty name and wanting that changed, maybe one time. My only point is that frequent switching can and does get confusing when people primarily get to know users on forums by their names and avatars. If you switch enough times people lose track of all the "formerly" tags, and in a sense some users do just become dead to me even though they're still here. It's a weird thing to complain about, because obviously, you're still here and posting. But I liked VysePSU better lol. The avatar and the name. Whatever, it's all your call, you have the power. But obviously it's not just me who dislikes this sort of thing.

Well hate to say it GaF but I think I am out..the shit posting going on in threads that I participate in is to the point it takes over entire threads and I was told by a mod to basically ignore the thread which isn't a good solution or even a solution. If that's the mentality we are going with then I just dont see the point in trying to participate in meaningful conversation when the mods don't have the community's back.

I thought about just putting on ad blocker for GaF until the problem is fixed but that really won't help anyone. I'd like to support Gaf and the good community here so I'd rather just take my leave instead of cutting ad revenue.

I have tried to express my issues and opinions on the matter to a mod and when I have presented them in a strong manner with plenty of evidence I get nothing in return and when I try to be more basic and forthcoming with an argument I get non answers and told to simply ignore it.

Maybe my goal of having good conversations with civil responses that come from passionate gamers who simply love the art form as their hobby is a pipedream for GaF and not the goal of the owners. Maybe that's on me? Not sure. But it's very clear that the negative part of the community will continue to grow and nothing is going to be done at this time.

Ill miss talking and dicking around with the good people here. And I'll miss making memes for the meme thread which is always A ton of good fun.

Maybe I'll be a lurker here and there but I'm done having my time and opinion disrespected by shit posters when I am being a civil and hard thinking member of the community.

To the people I have had good conversations with thank you for being you. Continue to game and continue to push the art form forward in a positive manner and I'm sorry I won't be a part of it.

It looked like people wanted JareBear/Cult of Fart to stop changing or revert back to his original name so I don't know what you mean about any leeway.

I didn't die either, considering I post like I always have in Gaming, Off-Topic and this thread. I just think getting upset is silly, even for an avatar change. Like when I changed my avatar from an image of Vyse to Crypto back in December, my username was still Rhaknam. But I only changed my avatar because I'm really excited to play Destroy All Humans.

If it’s the latter, I do find that there are some incredibly obnoxious, socially retarded people here. It feels like I can say the most innocuous thing, and someone immediately wants to fight about it, or make some stupid remark.

I would want less mod intervention for that, not more, though. Let me actually rip into these posters and tell them what I think of them. Sometimes I’m unsure, but I think that a culture that polices itself, and outcasts/discourages bad actors, is the most efficient one.

For what it’s worth, I don’t know you super-well, but I hope you stay.

I would like to request a “single post view” mode where you can read a thread by having the top post start at the top of the screen, then press the down key to scroll automatically down so that the 2nd post is at the top of screen and so on. This would be especially helpful on mobile. Like if you use Adobe Reader on a .pdf and go to “single page view mode” (doing so would easily demonstrate how it would work more clearly), if it could work like that I think it’d be really cool.

Is this the right thread for posting requests/suggestions?
