I found this article talking about it. Seems to be genuine.

Hmm. Yeah, trying to find more info but coming up short.

Just a zerohedge "article"

I guess we wait and see.

I was on the bus today (in London) and saw a east Asian old man sitting at the bus stop coughing furiously and spitting. I must admit I wondered if he had the virus. Doctors were saying that London's Tube network could be a hot bed for spreading the virus quickly:

That’s the scary thing. If it’s extremely contagious it will spread like wildfire in London.

I’m in Bristol, but the amount of commuters between here and London is high, so what’s bad for London is bad for every big city in the UK. And I walk through Temple Meads every weekday.

Yeah, definitely. No one seems to be that bothered here though. I've only seen one lady with a surgical face mask in the past few weeks – and she was of East Asian appearance.

Nobody was bothered too much in the rest of China since the story broke, face mask use was about sub 50% first couple of weeks, where now it's about 99% with extra protections and health checks.

If it becomes a "here" problem and not a problem in China, attitudes will change just as quick.

It’s treated as a bit of a joke here. Haven’t seen anyone in a surgical mask recently, but even before the outbreak I’d occasionally see East Asians wearing them (probably for the pollution).

I think people are just jaded by previous hype. Bird flu, Ebola, Swine flu...the media just love whipping up thoughts of the apocalypse. Even now I’m fairly nonchalant about it all, and just assume it will fade out in a month or so.

However it’s easy to see how things can go south quickly. The percentage of fatalities might still be relatively low, but the knock on effect on other sick people and daily life in general could hit hard.

I'm not so sure. China's population is homogeneous. People are encouraged to conform for the greater good. That is not the case here in Britain. Everyone has their own ideas about what's best. It will be harder to get Britain's diverse population to conform in a similar way.

Not as much as their propaganda would lead you to believe. You should visit some time, get an on the ground perspective.

Man, Hubei was late again today.

Deaths are down compared to the huge jump yesterday,. but I think that included more than 1 day.

Cases being higher makes sense.

MAINLAND CHINACasesDeathsNotesLinks
Hubei province
(including Wuhan)
53,0291,4267,953 serious, 1,685 criticalSource
Other regions11,59857946 serious/criticalSource
TOTAL64,6271,48310,584 serious
6,601 recovered
13,435 suspected

The 10,584 serious & critical cases is key right now, as those are all potential deaths with the way Hubei/etc is overwhelmed Medical case-wise.

Good to see the decline.

They mentioned yesterday was a mix of new & backlogged cases they didn't previously report. That's why it was so huge.

That being said, today's total of 4823 new cases is still very large, especially since "all" backlogged cases have already been cleared.

Deaths dropping is likely the same as well, though I had figured it'd be mid 100's, so 116 is relatively low.

The numbers are still kind of all over the place, so.. I dunno. Keep an eye on the other countries to get a feel for it's pandemic potential.

Oy vey

The Chinese Communist Party data fraud more and more outrageous, even to disregard the basic logic, violation of the primary school addition! Two data maps, both about 8:50 a.m., left is Hubei data, Hubei alone, on the new case s4823! But to the national data, it actually only added 3924 cases! The number of new cases in the country is 899 fewer than that in Hubei! This math and physical education teacher taught? Xi Jinping adjusts the data himself?

So basically.. Who the hell knows.

Brilliant, they are doing subtraction now that they mastered addition. Thanks China.

CDC expects this to go into next year not gonna go away soon
