!One technique I find that helps me get the cleanest lines is doing multiples passes.
- start with a layer to draw out the looser sketch lines (I prefer to use a different color for sketch layer, similar to using a blue pencil)
- turn down the opacity on the previous sketch layer, then draw a cleaner tighter line art on top
- repeat until you are content with the results of the line work.

I do these to reward my students for stuff like "most improved" or "best effort", they're extremely lite versions of what i do seriously.. take me about 10 minutes. i teach English in Japanese junior high schools~

Anyone here have any experience with malfunctioning graphics tablets? All of a sudden my Xp-pen is fucking up bad, I have a spare wacom, but tbh it's so small that I'm getting severe hand/arm cramps trying to draw on the thing. I'd really rather not have to give up this one, I can't really afford to replace it, but I think making do with the other one might be a quick path to arthritis.

Printed a few of my doodles on T-shirts at Redbubble lol Prob just lounge around the house in it but it's funny to me.
Been using texture Procreate brush packs to get some cool effects.

This is the third thing I have ever edited in my life. It’s certainly not perfect and the audio is too loud in places but I am proud of what I made for the time.

I like that you pay careful attention to the detail in this drawing, particularly how the position of her arm so close to her breast slightly wrinkles the same side of her dress more than the left side.
At the same time, something that kind of bugs me about it (and it's still a good drawing, don't get me wrong) is that you can still see her clavicle and neck muscle through the dress which contradicts the earlier detail I mentioned. By that I mean it's important to keep in mind how much detail you're really going to see on a person depending on the kind of clothes they wear.
I completely understand how easy it is to get carried away with shading and all of that though. You want to show off every detail, to make it look as complete as can be, but you also have to think about limiting detail so that it looks more realistic even if you're drawing a cartoon/anime.
I do also draw. Pretty much my whole life. I just haven't gotten around to uploading anything recently. But I don't want you to think I'm putting your work down or anything. It's more like your work reminds me of how I would draw when I was in high school and I get kind of nostalgic looking at it.

I doodled 20 years ago in highschool and bought an ipad/pencil/procreate recently and trying to take it up again, and get better. Older now with lots of free time, trying to use it wisely and 'learn' something. Been watching Skillshare stuff, trying to teach myself Photshop, Illustrator, Affinity etc.. but to be honest just scratching the surface with Procreate still. Going from doodling in the 90's to figuring out what mask, layers etc.. are is overwhelming lol
I love your work tho. Something about this Cyber/Neo Tokyo vibe it gives off lol
My favorite guys to follow and be amazed with right now are Xsullo and Deathburger.
I just got this the other day from Xsullo
Love how Deathburgers stuff is just A LOT of stuff lol His attention to a cig butt or empty can, a broken wire etc.. just a techno mess and litter.
And the color work...man, I wish I had the ability to have an eye for color like this.

I certainly can sympathize with how overwhelming it can sometimes be figuring out how to best go about things, there are so many options now.
Sometimes I try to see it as problem solving. What is the best solution for what I want to accomplish on a case by case basis? What would streamline my workflow without sacrificing the quality? Even with an end goal in mind, it's alway important to remind myself to actual enjoy the process.
I have yet to dive into Procreate myself, but seeing what other artists are creating with it is pretty inspiring. I like how minimal the interface is. Would make for a straight forward experience compared to using Photoshop, despite the wealth of tools and flexibility it provides. It's similar to having hundreds of brushes in my library, but mostly relying on a handful. As you create more and more and you continue to refine your process and your aesthetic, the focus shifts from being much more broad to more precise.
Xsullo, I'm not familiar with, but that print looks awesome. Deathburger's work is sick, very skilled artist. I enjoy his work as well. Very Moebius inspired.
You are correct. In addition, I sometimes paint in some light bloom using a soft airbrush, I also do a little post work using Abobe After Effects as well. Very much inspired by late 80's-90's anime. It's bit of a balancing act as to not overdo it.

This has a ton of character! You've got some great abstraction in those forms. Doing a lot with limited detail. In my humble opinion, you are defiantly capable of refining that style even further with the proportions and the rendering. I like the grounded casual design, Like a cross between Smallville & Danny Phantom.
fairly simplistic (dragon ball meets danny phantom) art style as concept art for a comic series Ive mulling around for awhile now. Since my recent animation didnt pan the way i wanted, i may go back to working on a graphic novel (or a monthly comic series.)

I just don't think it's efficient enough for the amount of work that goes into it, and doesn't look as good as it should. As far as color goes, I don't like to mess around with it too much bc I have a poor sense when it comes to picking the right colors.

Hey man, the only way to solve that issue is to experiment with more color picking haha. Go ahead and have a bit of fun with colors. Maybe restrict yourself to certain limited colors choices, like 3 key colors for example. Or something more tonal rather than realistic. Your forms and line are solid and well defined, Your line art is really awesome, I'm convinced even simple color palettes would look pleasing.
Sometimes for a bit of inspiration I've been recently using the Adobe Color site.

Not sure whether or not you're already familiar, but I've sometimes found it useful for jump starting when sketch booking digitally or doing warm ups.
You don't even necessarily have to be using any of the Adobe suite to take advantage, even though it's more integrated with those apps.

From the few colored pieces you've shared, it seems you're more than competent in terms of color. In my opinion, it's the light & shadow or the values you should be more mindful of. Some of your blending might be a bit too soft. Maybe a bit more definition in your light and shadow could help?
