Playing last gen games on a new PC with a fast monitor is magical.

The reason i got my 240hz monitor wasn't to play current games at such high FPS (my GPU wouldn't handle) but for everyday usage like smooth scrolling in browser + reading text while it scrolls. I got used to this until my CRT monitor died a year ago. Thankfully, on a 240hz LCD the moving text is almost as clear as my old CRT at 85hz. Otherwise a normal 60hz modern monitor would blur the fuck out of everything that moves. Even on a 144hz monitor its too blurry for me. But 240hz is just fine, with a tiny bit of ghosting left (i expect 360hz to be perfect).

As for games, i am locking them all at 60fps using RTSS. Though, with 240hz i could also use other numbers that fit like 40fps or 80fps, depending on the game (but never 30 :p ). I thought about all these benefits before buying the monitor and decided it's worth sacrificing the view angles for a TN panel.

What i didn't plan though (and it was probably the BEST bonus) was the effect this monitor would have on my backlog. I have quite a few last gen games that i want to play and it seems that waiting enough to play them on a much more powerful computer (with this monitor) is almost worth it more than playing them day 1.

Case in point, Dead Space 2. The computer is fast enough to run this at 240fps and even use down-sampling from 4k for the absolute perfect image quality (since the monitor is 1080p). The result is something i would call a "free remaster of the highest quality". The image is perfect, with no jaggies or blurriness, the input response is instant and the frame rate makes the graphics look almost as clear as on a CRT. Because sure, running a game faster than 120-144 fps may be overkill since you won't notice any difference in smoothness but because of the way LCDs work, that extra 120fps helps reducing the ghosting/blurring of the LCD panel.

Of course, most other last gen games i have in my backlog will get the same treatment. Devil May Cry 4 is also just as good. This made me want to play those games not just so i clear my backlog but also because i enjoy them more playing at such high quality and smoothness. I kid you not, when the camera moves and everything looks so smooth and clear it literally makes my eyes tickle in a good way, it's almost like they have an orgasm or something i can't explain it, lol.

Nice one OP. I played (or re-played) most of the 360 / PS3 gen multiplatform games at 4k60 and it was fantastic as well. I'm sure ultra high frame rate is amazing, though some games will lock at 60 or have issues.
