Epic Store Free Games

No, it was not the glitch. You should get another one after Metro Exodus purchase.
I have been quite critical of Epic store but at least this move with the coupons is a nice way to get customers to buy games on their store and will get them some positive press ( much better than paying to get timed exclusive games )

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Nice, probably the best game they offered so far. I highly recommend Kingdom Come even if you're not into popular rpg's. It can also be played like a pretty realistic medieval times simulator. :)

My game of the decade, in a close fight with Disco Elysium. Still I think you should buy it elsewhere because of Epic’s dodgy morals.

Damn this game seems demanding, even at medium I'm not getting more than like 40fps. (I'm on a laptop with a 1050ti so it's not like I'm expecting much).

Guess that just like with AC Odyssey it's high settings at 30fps time! Is there any way to actually lock the fps to 30 though?, I don't see any option in the settings

The one game (Kingdom Come) I was always interested in, but never wanted to save money for. I’m shocked I own it now and it didn’t cost me anything. My gratitude towards Epic.

The Epic store needs a retro section now.

Nice, another big release. I liked the city map in AC Syndicate, but the characters and the story were bland and I didn't finish the main campaign. Just had a lot of fun exploring London.

How's the DLC for Syndicate? Only had the base game from Uplay, but might pick up the dlc eventually if it's any good on sale.

The muder mystery dlc pack is really good (it's only like $5) and the Jack the Ripper DLC is good but a tad bit divisive. Everything else you can skip on. You really don't need the jack the ripper pack either though tbh. The murder mystery pack is good tho for a cool extra for $5.

Jack the Ripper was the only real "big" dlc syndicate got anyways so the base game will pretty much have you covered. Syndicate didn't get that much of a post launch support comparative to Origins with the Hidden Ones and Curse of the Pharoah or Odyssey did.

edit: IIRC fans who bought the season pass were pretty pissed too about the post launch dlc support.

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
Epic is giving for free lifetime access to better games than what some console gamers are forced into with yearly subscriptions.

One of a number of reasons I let my PS+ sub lapse.

While it's nice to get free things, let's not stretch it too much.

In this case he is right. Here you are getting free games, without any cost, while you can only access the "free" games you get with PS+ if you keep paying.
The epic store way of doing this specific thing is much better imo.

You spelled GOG wrong.

Call me when when they give away 65 games a year and i will care.

Last buy at gog was divinity 2 what a disaster that was. Then let's not talk about 90% of their old games that don't even run for shit straight out of the gate.

Here just in one year and i didn't even accept all the free games by the way.

Since they don't appear to be moneyhatting games anymore maybe I should change my avatar and jump on board? Probably going to give it a few more months though just to make sure as that was my only issue with them and who doesn't like free games?

At Least i can play them whenever i want. Amazing right.
Until they get taken away from you. The thing with GOG is you own your games instead of renting them. Games on GOG can be preserved for future generations. Sure in the short term it’s not as good a deal as a bunch of freebies but in the long term it’s an amazing deal.

Helios Helios is right too about not playing them. Freebies suffer from easy come easy go. When games cost nothing they’re worth nothing.

Its PC mate, nothing can ever be taken away from it. This aint consoles. U released your game on PC it stays there forever. And if you don't release it, it will be emulatable later on.

GOG isn't preserving anything, it's just another sell shop and that's it and a pretty shitty one at it.

Look i don't say epic client is the best client ever. it's pretty shit actually, but the free games are frankly so much more any other client gives that they should and will get kudo's because of it.

People shitting on EPIC because china, yet 90% of what they own in real life directly or indirectly comes from china its just laughable at best.

65 free games in a year aint bad in my book and there are lots of fun little games and full fletched games in there. That i will play at some point. And if epic client crashes and burns down after 5 or 10 years? nothing prevents me to play those games i can rebuy them for a buck back on key sites on another client or simple just pirate them as some games are simple not playable anymore without that solution such as age of empire online.

I have yet to see a guy that bought a game on gog store and stored that game on his harddrive for 12 years on end because maybe at some point another 12 years later the game could not be available anymore. That concept was fine when digital platforms where just starting and valve went completely anti consumer. Sadly at this day in age it's honestly nothing i could care about.
