Hillary Duff calls black photographer shooting kids a "creep", social media freaks out

Seems like there's a fairly big divide on this situation, with one side of the fence claiming she only went after him because racism, while the other side argues photographers should immediately stop shooting children if a parents requests so, even though it is technically legal to do so in public spaces. More here.

While the guy seems to be well-intentioned and in all probability was actually only trying to practice, he should've immediately backed off once Lizzy requested he stopped. The 15m follower shit is totally extra lol. Who's in the right here?

I am getting so tired of people thinking that anything anyone does involving children has some malicious meaning behind it. The internet and TV has made people think that pedophilia is some massive widespread thing, and that all men are closet pedophiles or some shit. This shit needs to stop, it was a photographer practicing his craft on a what he probably thought was a pleasant image.

Why is this a race thing? I think her response was normal.

While I somewhat agree, no man should be taking pics of kids. But I can see this dude doing it to sell these photos to people like TMZ maybe?

Then again as a parent you never know, sure his intentions might of been harmless but with all the crazy shit going on in the world today a parents job is to protect a child.
He could easily practice his craft on different subject matter.

It is creepy that a grown man wants to take pictures of kids. I'm sure there were plenty of other things he could practice on that didn't involve him taking pictures of kids.
If you specifically want to get into sports photography, then the best thing to practice on would be sports, and he might have thought kids would be easier since they don't move as fast.

But he just as easily could have asked some amateur league of adults or found an alternative. There's a lot of unknowns at the moment to pass judgement on this dude harshly.

...hate me...
I'm a father. What is her concern here, exactly?

Oh NoEz ThIs bLaCk MaN is GoNnA MaStUrbAtE LoOkinG aT pIcS Of mY kIdS pLaYinG SocCeR

Meanwhile she publishes their pics on her open IG for any pervert in the world to look at. Fucking dumb bitch.

Kids in collective settings get their pics taken all the time. You have no control over it. Even if you trust whoever takes the photos, thousands more can look at the photos and you'll have no control over that either. Fucking illiteracy posing as fake puritanism with a coating of entitlement.

Hillary duffs muff is Haggard and depleted. Miss me with her bullshit. There's no expectation of privacy in public. What about the people monitoring you on security cameras? Oh noes!

I'm not judging him specifically. I would be weirded out by anyone who was randomly taking pictures of children at a park. At best he wasn't thinking. At worst he had nefarious intent.

To be fair, I wouldn't confront him about it. I would probably just take my kids away from the area.

She loses me when she pulls the “I got 15 million followers” card.

I’m sorry but fuck off. I don’t know shit about photography but I can imagine grabbing some “action shots” of sports/people in motion can look good in a portfolio. Is he even officially a paparazzi? Was he for sure there because Hilary Duffs kids were there?

I coached high school athletics for 11 years and people with cameras are everywhere. Are most of those people there connected to one of the teams/schools somehow? Probably, but I don’t know for sure and never thought twice.

She did use the C word. Because a lot of blacks are known to be creeps, it's been used to tar all African Americans. She knew what she was doing.

She does seem like the other C word herself with that 15 million followers comment.

"It's making me feel very uncomfortable." Fuck off.
The dude ain't doing anything illegal and he seems genuine. Doesn't look like a creep.
And the kids aren't in danger, the parents are there.
But it is a tough one. I do understand the mother and her problem with having kids photographed, I get it.
But then again the dude is not doing anything illegal and seems harmless.
I dunno. It's a tough one to judge. Both sides have a good argument.

I don't know why anyone suddenly cares what a dude with a camera is doing in public when it involves kids. The parents ARE the ones uploading literally GIGS of kids photos for public viewing. The parents ARE ALSO usually the ones doing the abusing of kids.

You may think "muh childrens are in danger!" but really would you rather live in a society where a dude with a camera has to answer question from police every time he tries to take some pictures? That's where we'll be if continue to be overprotecting of kids.

Damn, look at that lens. The guy was practicing long distance action shots.

"I understand if you're out and you're just taking pictures and there happens to be kids in the background, or if a parent is saying that it's OK that you photograph their kids randomly... I get it. But if those kids are the subject of your photography practice over and over and over again, for you know, minutes or a half hour or however long it was, and you ask someone to please stop that, you should have that right."

"We really need to work on changing that law," Duff continued. "If you notice, at the end of the video... he put his hand up because he didn't want to be filmed anymore... so we should be able to, as parents, make that choice for our 7-year-olds not to be filmed."

What a fucking idiot lmao

  1. Just because he was taking pictures of kids it doesn't make him a creep or a stalker. He had a reasonable explanation and was likely practicing taking pictures of moving subjects.
  2. He could have just backed off and said fine, I'll stop instead of saying its not illegal. It's not illegal to do a lot of things but human decency dictates that unless what you are doing is absolutely necessary then you stop if somebody else feels uncomfortable and requests you do so.
  3. Her pulling the "I have this many followers on Instagram" card is fucking abhorrent. Learn to make your point without threatening to throw somebody to the social media rabid dogs. How many more people do we need to fuck up or push towards suicide by doing this before it stops?

The idiotic thing about what she, Duff, is saying is that, as a parent, she ALREADY has the right to make that choice. It's called take your 7-year-old somewhere else! She doesn't own the damn park! I mean, maybe she does.... that one particular park, but it not then LEAVE. Don't impress your misguided sense of entitlement upon perfectly innocent people just making use of the public space. Dude probably has a homework assignment in his photography class, and the reason he covered his face finally is because he became aware that the outrage crowd was calling him a CREEP.

Agree 100% with this. I kept swing between who was right between him and her and she just lost me at the end with her Instagram comment.

Ughh

Women?

I'll say this. There are cameras everywhere recording you and your children all the damn time. In shopping malls, on street corners, at gas stations, everywhere. To me, that's creepy. He's probably just trying to make a buck with pictures of Hillary's kids. Yes, the entire situation could have been de-escalated by both parties though. It would have been even more creepy if he walked up and asked if he could take photos of her creamy lightly skinned children then licked his lips for good measure.

EverydayBeast

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
The fact that he has a camera like that it says a lot about him, I guess police could look into it.

That’s cute.
when someone asks you to stop pictures of their kids, just do it. It isn’t that hard

Of fuck off. ”creep” is not equivalent to “nigger”. It has never been used that way. This is blatant rewriting of history to push a bullshit racism angle.

People, especially paparazzi, are called creeps all the time for taking unwanted photos
