Congrats on landing the GOAT, he’s a great pick up and will automatically make you a playoff contender.
All you need is a little more defensive help to go deep into the post season if your team stays healthy, I know a lot of PAT’s fans will be watching Tampa Bay games now.

Been chatting with people all day about this. The fanbase once again is split on this decision. It is almost like people really wanted to keep Jameis and are opposed to having an actual GOAT on the team aside from Derrick Brooks or Warren Sapp.

You can understand the skeptics though. It would be one thing if you're signing Brady at age 33, but he's 43. He showed signs of decline last year, and now he'll be one year older.
That being said, he'll definitely be an upgrade on Jameis, whose problem isn't his physical vision, but his field of play vision. No LASIK is gonna fix that.

Jameis is terrible. Brady might not much left in him but he is a better choice. Tampa should’ve gotten rid of Jameis seasons ago. Throwing 30 int in 1 season you are more of a liability.

I am not speaking of the traditional skeptics and people from the outside. I am speaking of people in Tampa. This is a very different perspective all together. These people have ALWAYS been this way. They also wanted the organization to fail when Dungy left and still to this day make all these claims about Dungy like he was the god of this team. You bring up a reasonable point but from my perspective. I don't view Brady as a person that will take us to the promised land but as a person that is bringing excitement to the city and that allows for the opportunity for us to have a young QB join the fray that we can ACTUALLY mentor instead of putting them in too soon.
I agree on your first point. Jameis I believe really cracked these last couple of years. He put up solid but always inconsistent performance. It was so bad that we had the QB controversy with Journeyman QB(I cant think of his name at this moment) that actually could be a thing because of how inconsistent Jameis is.

You'll always find die-hard fans whose fandom is somewhat twisted that way. And I view Brady as a positive for the Bucs for the reason you mentioned. Lord knows the Bucs have offensive weapons (Evans, Godwin, Brait/Howard) they just need a competent QB that can utilize them well. With Panthers and Falcons seemingly in flux and Brees a year older, I'd think the Bucs have a chance to make some noise--not SB contender, but they have a legit shot at their division.

There’s no such thing as XFL star after they only played 5 games, no chance he beats Teddy Bridgewater for a starting job and will be lucky if he sticks around as the backup QB.

I wasn't suggesting he'd be the starter. But I think he has enough upside to stick as the backup, pending the draft. His connections to Rhule (from his Temple days) will keep him in the mix imo. I think he's shown some nice intangibles, and some excellent poise and awareness in the pocket. Of course, the NFL is on another level, for sure. I'm interested to see it play out. I sure do hope we have some sports this year though.

It's been a wild ride with Cam, and I've loved having him as the QB for my team, but honestly he's struggled to get healthy for multiple seasons now, and as physical a QB as he's been, age is not friendly to that type of player at his position. If you take away his physicality, he's not the same player as a pure pocket passer.
I wish him well, and hope he succeeds wherever he lands, but from the Panthers' perspective, it was time to move on, and I have no issue with it. I'll forever wish 2015 ended differently. What a team we had that year. But a couple of key plays by Von Miller, and a great game plan by Wade Phillips (along with inept in-game adjustments by the Panthers coaching staff) shifted a game that our defense easily played well enough to win.

It's kinda sad that the lasting image of that Super Bowl was that play where Cam hesitated to jump on a loose ball in front of him. He should get stick for it, but considering how Cam has been progressing since then, that might be his lasting image. And that's a shame.

Yeah, the game was still in the balance, although I do think that the optics/the angle/situation made it look a little worse than it really was. But he has no real excuse for not attempting to get on the ball there imo. But in his defense, he had been taking a beating. But anyone who questions his toughness really hasn't watched him play much - I'll say that.
I'll miss best-Cam. I mean when he was at the top of his game he took the Panthers close to an undefeated season. His receivers were Ted Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery, Devin Funchess and Philly Brown. We went 15 AND 1 and Cam won the MVP with that group. (And a very good defense, admittedly) Cam was a defensive gameplan nightmare.

The 15-1 MVP Cam Superbowl run was fun. If it was time to move on from Cam, it could have been done better. All the bullshit talk from the owner and they could have helped him out by releasing him before all the big FA QBs got signed. Then they just signed a good WR for Bridgewater and a xfl guy.

I'm not one for tanking in any circumstances. It is just antithetical to the nature of competition for me. And it sure seems that Rhule and co. are not looking to tank based on the moves they've made. I really think they believe that they can be competitive immediately.
It will surely be an interesting season (if there is one). Fielding essentially a new team in many ways. I'm actually excited as a Panthers fan. Sure there's lots of turmoil/change, but that makes things exciting if you are able to let go of the past - at least it does for me.

When the Bengals draft Burrow, we're gonna have a foundation on which to build on. This year (assuming it happens) will still be rough and Burrow will probably experience some growing pains, but there's hope now in Cincy.
The X-factor is whether Zac Taylor can really handle the duties of being a HC--we shall see.
