if you stay together, you survive
Oh yeah I still stay together. But if you’re all diving solo to the same space, you get there quicker. There is the danger with randomers though, where they change their mind and go somewhere different. Awkward if you’re not paying attention to what others are doing!

Question ApexGAF. When dropping, do you prefer it if people peel off, so as a group you land quicker?

Ideally (especially if you are picking Wraith and have a TTV gamertag) you want to land solo as far away as possible from your team and quit the second you get downed. Once you get more experienced at the game, you will also type out a quick "shit teammates gg" before you quit.

MY FORTRESS IS FORTIFIED, MONEY IN MY POCKETS LIKE I'M FORTY FIVE.

Held down The Cage last night with Wattson with some guy I play with who uses Bangalore destroyed the last few teams around us as we picked them off.

He DMed me afterwards saying " I love your fences."

See, I don't play a defense character to push on people. The dumb fucks who play this game gotta learn when I'm holding a place down if you assist me we get the W.

All I do in this game is run after my teammates. A solo option would not only be a great addition by itself but it would also make the squad play better because the players who don't want to play in a team would just play solo. And three is too big of a squad, what are the chances that you get not one but two good teammates? And the same for opposing team, it's not fun taking out players three on one. I hope a full apex legends game is coming with single player and many options in multiplayer.

general state of the game, random thoughts throughout the day while i code:

randoms feels better, quality and attitude is on the up

not enough pings and visual indicators, need to bump this stuff (it's not just useful data, it helps competitive players, those who're deaf or hearing impaired, so on)

Man this game is a blast! I've played about 10 games and won one (obviously I was carried by two vets, I did get one kill though) and looking for some tips. Also this is my first keyboard and mouse game so my movement is awful.

I'm finding the loot a bit confusing and also I'm hardly using ping but I should be I think. Any tips for that?

I should elaborate - I struggle to know what gun is better, I'm assuming that blue is better then no colour but other than that it's kinda random. Also can I swap a gun with my second gun without having to exit, change gun and then going back into the cache or dead persons box or whatever?

There are different gun categories (pistol, assault rifle, LMG etc.) each with various strengths and weaknesses. Have a play in the shooting range to see what feels best. My preference is the Flatline. Each gun type has one of a few different ammo types too - light, heavy, shotgun and sniper. You can get pistols that use light, heavy or shotgun ammo, for example (Mozambique is a shotgun pistol, P2020 is light ammo), and likewise other weapon types (Flatline - Heavy, R-99 light) except snipers. Only sniper rifles can use sniper ammo.

You can equip mods to weapons which really help with stability, and hop-ups have different effects on the weapon. Quality goes up from white > blue > purple > gold, the same as with armour and any equipable items like bags and knock down shields. There is no rarity colour on the guns themselves with the exception that a care package and lucky bin might have a gold weapon (all the mods will be gold). Some weapons can be harder to find than others though.

Key to success is movement. Fast movement. Be sprinting and sliding as much as you can (crouch whilst sprinting downhill to get there quicker). Use ziplines and for the love of god, stick with your team mates and only engage when it is sensible to do so.

Enjoy the game, it's one of the best BRs out there.

Another thing: Don't be greedy. The better equipped your team mates are, the better your team will do in a fight. And I tend to go out of my way to back up someone who's had my back, and that extends to sharing loot.

Sounds like pretty obvious advice, but you'd be surprised over how many players will arm themselves to the teeth and leave their team mates nothing. That's why they need a permanent solo mode so those players can fuck off to over there.

This all becomes a lot better when you start playing regularily with a squad, since you will learn what they do best with and so forth. I have one premade squad I run with where one of the players is insanely aggressive, so I try to make sure he has solid armor and guns. I am usually the one running to revive, so the others in the squad keep on the look-out for gold backpacks (restores shields and health after a revive) and ping those for me. For my part, I'll ping golden armor (fast use) for others since my character already uses shields and meds faster than others. And so forth.

Thanks both.

Regarding hoarding ammo, maybe they are just new? I know I just keep everything as I can't tell what would be sensible to hold on to.

As suggested, jump into the firing range and test out every gun, attachments, armour, etc and see what you like best. You'll know what to grab and what to ditch before long. Check the hop ups and learn what guns they go on and what the effects are. I recommend the Prowler with the Select Fire attachment or the Flatline with Anvil Receiver for a rolicking good time.

only got a couple weeks left to hit predator, might be unavailable soon

injuries this season fucked me

playing until i pass out

I'm a real noob and have a few issues at the moment. Some games I just don't find a gun and get killed in two minutes and others I won't see anyone for ten minutes and then will die from a bullet I barely see coming.

Don't get me wrong, the game is great but I wish I'd get a bit more combat practise as currently I hardly get chance!
