21k new cases in the US? Ok that's a lot.

I have a feeling the US will be hit the hardest of anyone by far.

1. You have trump
2. You have very 'free' people that don't trust government and will just spread the virus like crazy, like in New York
3. You have very high obesity
4. A lot of people without health care

We might but:

2. Population density is why its spreading like wildfire in NY. That and you have people that live in tiny ass apartments stacked on top of each other. Good luck getting them to stay in there for weeks on end.

4. This is true but hospitals cannot turn away someone who needs care regardless of whether they have insurance or not.

Yep, you would have to bankrupt yourself. It’s the only solution if you don’t have healthcare

Having Trump as the president is a double edged sword.

The good side is that all states with republican as governor will be very proactive on this, like Ohio (well maybe except Florida).

The bad side is that since US is as divided as ever due to Trump, democrats controlled states will try as hard (while still show significant amount of effort) as they can to politicize this thing to make Trump look bad.

At the end of the day, it is the people would suffer, I could vision this polarization would not happen if a more mild left/right person being the president. Republican/Democrat voters will stay in their respective echo chamber, reading their respective biased media, and blame others for this mess.

Human collectively are just logically inferior being and the cancer of the earth.

I feel like I remember you from the early days of GAF, thought you were pretty cool.
I must have been a fuckin moron growing up, cause damn.
I don't think Trump wants to be here today. He's deferring all of the questions.

He specifically avoids questions about certain topics. Doesn't want the soundbites used against him.

Them pushing the NY thing is so dumb. Going to make other people feel like it's not a big deal, and testing plays such a big role in why NY looks so much worse.

This whole 100K in two weeks....

I don't see how that's possible. Even Italy won't hit that.
The jump is in large part a reflection of increased testing — which means the number will probably continue to grow as the US's testing capacity keeps expanding.

I don't blame him. Their single goal is to get a gotcha on him.

The NY thing is making the states look bad. NY/NJ account for 50% of the cases. Remove them from the equation and the USA looks like it's doing fine. So the focus is on them because the rest of the states have done well. Washington is the best example, they flattened the curve. California looks the same. So keep doing what they're doing and continue the fight against the virus.

More testing doesn't mean more deaths. 100K deaths is crazy. We would need to average 7100 deaths per day to hit that number.

Most of big cities /states reacted late you will see the NY behavior on Miami, LA...but honestly iam more worried about norther states like Oregon and small twons that do not have ventilators around US

I think the fear about ventilators needs to be mitigated. There are ventilators being made, no one (even in NYC) has had a shortage yet. They're being built like crazy.

That's not necessarily the case.

He has praised the Trump administration for responding to his coronavirus requests for disaster relief and for the deployment of a Navy hospital ship to Los Angeles.

And when things haven’t gone as expected, Newsom has opted against stoking the mercurial president’s fires. On Saturday, the governor traveled to San Jose to praise the work of a Silicon Valley energy company that is refurbishing ventilators. And he mentioned — somewhat subtly — that some 170 devices the federal government sent to Los Angeles County aren’t usable in their current form.

Has any democratic governor tried to make Trump look bad? Cuomo putting pressure on federal government was commendable, they don't have to treat him with kid gloves.
They've spent 3 years trying to make him look bad.

When Cuomo says masks are going away, and Trump says the same thing and then Cuomo turns around and says "I don't know what he's talking about." He's trying to make him look bad.

When Cuomo complains that they have a shortage of ventilators, and it turns out there's thousands in storage and Cuomo says that "that's how we do it, we keep them here for when we need it." Clearly lying - he's doing it to create panic and shit against Trump.

What do you mean thousands in storage? Did he have to 30,000 Vents he needed after all?

Tucker Carlson is right, the mask thing is straight lying to the public. I mean I get it, but their rationale is so ridiculous. They really said it could actually increase the chances of getting it without proper usage? Lmao what in the fuck are they even talking about that makes no sense.

He had several thousand in a warehouse becuase he didn't need them yet.

But the narrative was that they needed 30K NOW. Which forced the press DAILY to ask Trump for specific numbers that the federal government is providing, when companies like Tesla, GM, Ford, etc were trying to make them as fast as possible.

It's obvious what they were doing.

How many time will take those companies produce ventilators? TESLA said something about them but not sure if they have them ready to ship.

I mean this doesn't seem like a contradiction, if he needed more than what the warehouse had because the model said so, and they take time to make and need to be ordered but the FED aren't moving, he did what he had to do. Public pressure works.

Okay?

He clearly WILL need more, and has since clarified it as being needed in several weeks. But the press (and him) had been pushing it for NOW because NYC needs it NOW because people are dying because they can't get a ventilator, and here's some footage from Italy, I mean New York, showing how bad things are.

It's not complicated.
