To those who were begging for a longer lasting battery in this controller versus the PS4, R.I.P the dream.

Only on Tuesdays.

Can someone do a edit on some of the better looking PS5 console mock ups so we can see what this colourway would look like on a console?

the Controller always matches the Console.... so we are getting insight to what the Box will look like?

Doesn't the shape of the touchpad kind of match the inside of the "V" in the dev kits? I wonder if they are going with a refined version of that same "V" design, then?

Edit: Matches in terms of shape/curvature, I mean. I know it's much shallower than the V of the devkits, but that could just be due to the touchpad needing to have a wider V than the console.

Imagine you have a Dual Sense and you are playing Forza Motorsport 8 on PC, where the PC community have modded full haptic feedback into the game...….That would be something now wouldn't it....I think Dual Sense will take off on PC too......The excitement around it suggests it's the next wave in controller feedback since the DS got rumble...

A revolution in every sense of the word...….So happy to hear that devs are so happy with what it will do for their games....That mic is gonna be just as useful as the 3.5mm jack imo...

Whoever gave the green-light in regards to the two-tone color scheme and rounded curvy aesthetic probably deserves a big raise.
Never ever have I seen a controller garner this much hype and attention. If the two-tone color scheme didn't exist on it, I don't think the hype would be at these levels.
This is just one of the examples of the controller picking up a lot of mainstream momentum.

This seriously need a design labs for this controller. The possibilities are endless.
Also let me add if the console also features a two-tone curvy design, that'll be huge and I think we will see similar reactions with fan ideas similar to the controller. It's really genius what they're doing here and I hope this continues into the console design.

My point is still the same. Kinect was supposed to be an NSA spy device back then, well this controller definitely with Sony security is as much a security issue. And I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy, and apparently that's a trigger for you.
One here's your voice. The other sees what you're doing and was supposed to be an always connected device.

You like arguing for the sake of arguing huh

but the DS4 also has an integrated battery, what are you talking about?

I know, that is what I'm talking about... I had to replace DS4's at least 4x because of deteriorated integrated batteries. My hope is that this controller not be any more expensive to replace, because I already know I'll have to. While we're on the subject, how about sony giving us a recharge cable long enough to sit a normal distance from our console instead of the little 3' cord the ps4 came with?

higher quality batteries are available but are more expensive. the base model PS5 is gonna cost how much? :(

I pretty much just snagged a controller anytime I found one on sale, but I had multiple controllers deteriorate to the point that they pretty much had to be plugged in at all times with sony's tiny cord. Can't say it's much better to have to take a controller apart to put in a better battery. I'm not tryin' to sound like a xbot but I personally prefer being able to buy the rechargable battery pack for $30 once than 4 whole controllers.... 🤷‍♂️

i have launch DS4 still working, one easy way to kill ion lithium batteries is to have your controllers connected 24/7 to a charger. Don't do it again. Charge it and use it, when it gives you a warning, only then plug it again. Preferably to the same console since the USB stops charging after a while if it's on rest mode and if you are still playing you can see in the UI if it's full again.

I wish Sony and Apple would just change all their devices so that we can use AA batteries. It’s just so much more flexible.

While I think the controller looks meh and the dpad and R1/L1 a bit dubious, respect has to be given to Sony for trying to differentiate their controller on features. This is one of the things that I criticized Microsoft for failing on in terms of their controller. They need to bring new features with a new controller in order to differentiate and possibly establish new features. Adding a PS4 feature like the share button is not really bringing an interesting new feature, though it's welcomed.
Controls are an extension of the console, so Sony really went bold in 2013 with the PS4 controller that attempted a lot of things. I would've liked to see Microsoft taking the charge this generation with a further evolution within controller features and design.

Exactly this. DualSense is seriously pushing the envelope. Look at this:

So, so bland and boring.

Someone said the DualSense reminds them most of the Stadia Controller.

If anything, Stadia & Xbox controller are most alike. of course not the stick placement, but in general shape, facebuttons and featureset.

I wonder how dynamic the resistance is and how far it can be tuned. A nice pop through like on a trigger on a real gun would be pretty sweet.

remember when everyone was about the rumble in the Xbox controller or the touchpad on the PS4 and how it was going to change gaming. Yea, no one does.

No smoking in this house (allergies and asthma), a little sun here and there, when you forget to close the curtains after cleaning the windows, and sweat from hands while playing.

Oke i dig that...but when you clean your controller on a regular basis, there are good cleaners for plastic, they wont turn yellow, trust me i have a white controller for years😉
