Nintendo working with suppliers to boost Switch production in 2020

Nikkei received word from suppliers involved in the production process that Nintendo has reached out about manufacturing more Switch consoles during April and June, though a Nintendo representative tells the site that not everything is set in stone quite yet.

“We hope [suppliers] will be responsive to the production increase, but for procurement of some parts, the outlook remains uncertain, and we can't forecast exactly how many Switches can be supplied,” reads that statement to Nikkei.

That 10 percent increase aims to build on the 20 million consoles manufactured during 2019, and comes as demand continues to outweigh supply for the handheld home console

My colleague just sold his 3 years old Switch for a bit more than the regular retail price.

Now is the time to sell. I listed my switch for $300 and got a dozen messages within 30 minutes. Checked again, and prices are around $425-$450.

I hate that they call it a handheld. It's a hybrid system with a handheld knock off.

I dunno man, I'm thinking about getting a Switch Lite because it seems like such an excellent handheld system and I want to play it as such. It's powerful enough that I can play just about any game I want that would lend itself well to handheld gaming, but without the compromises that so defined handheld gaming before it.

I've had both and still prefer the regular Switch for handheld.

Sorry, should have not delineated that my comment only concerned the Lite, that was a misread on my part.

The main point is still unchanged for me, though. The Switch is a fantastic handheld system and I can't way to get one.

Oh, without a doubt, it's an amazing handheld. <3 Andrew

I feel like they might have missed the curve. Right now there’s demand, it’s likely to slow down after the PS5 and Series X release.

I get that they do their own thing, but they always seem to get the iron hot and then fail to capitalize on it.

They have finally started to flow into the UK (Slowly), after being hard to find since Christmas.

Hopefully it now stays that way.
