Japanese third party developers can no longer count on japan like the old days, all the Japanese care about these days is animal crossing, splatoon and pokemon.

I honestly don't get it, i guess the rest of the world will have to pick up the slack for ff7 remake.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
Wha a disappointing drop for VIIRemake.

What a defeatist attitude.

In the early 2000's, Nintendo wasn't doing particularly well in Japan either. And look what happened. They brought back the market from crisis, and grew their business hugely. FFVIIRemake is already a westernized RPG imo. They don't need to start focusing on western markets, because they're already doing that.

If they want to sell in Japan, they need to make games that japanese people would wanna buy. Maybe support the Switch? It's a chance worth taking.

why do ps4 versions of switch games do way better on ps4?
If it isn’t first party nintendo, or monster hunter, good luck.

If it launches on the same day, same amount of content and with respectable performance, no PS4 version of any games sold way better. Most of the case it sold only a tiny bit better, some on par with each other and others the Switch version sold more.

Also its embarrassing to compare a more than 100 millions install base old home console with the Switch lol, not considering some of the series had only been released on a Nintendo console after a long time/first time unlike them.

What are you talking about? Most games that run comparable on Switch and PS4 (indies, AA games, etc) sell considerably better on Switch.

yes true, in JAPAN ALONE, in most cases ps4 games sell better, and on par sometimes with the switch.
Despite the fact the switch has a much larger install base in Japan. But if you compare 3rd party game sales to 1st party as with the majority of Nintendo consoles, there is a dramatic difference in sales.

Indies and AA games sell WAY more on Switch (worldwide). This isn't debatable.

Titles launched within same day, same amount content, with an ok performance? Not seeing the metric so show me the data, in Japan, worldwide.

What I'm seeing was the data is all over the place.

persona 5 scramble, I don't pay too much attention to the switch releases since I usually go for the ps4 version but that seems to fit all your criteria

Nintendo needs to get stock to Japan soon, they're missing out on 10,000s of sales each week.

Japanese third party support is improving but publishers there have still been too slow to react.

Didn't dragon quest do great? seems like a lot of japanese developers are just making games that are more geared towards the wests tastes.

1. Maybe 2 or 3, not most like he said earlier, there's no set pattern to go through. Also P5 ? Remember those port beg you guys hate so much during P5 SSBU Direct?

I myself wouldn't want to support half ass efforts either. It's like getting MonHun Gen as a console release after a long time instead of MonHun World.
