That thread was trash from the get go, but got even worse after the reveals. It’s funny to go back and read the predictions from before they were revealed and see how far the goalposts have moved.

I’m 99 percent sure that a number of those accounts are the same person. There’s a pretty clear trail to follow. Considering Deeper Underground Deeper Underground was the guy who first threatened to report anyone who said anything bad about PS5, and a number of accounts literally only post in that thread and react/reply to each other, who all just happened to be created in the same couple weeks.

Furthermore, there are 5 or 6 of those accounts, that I have found so far, who seemingly have only ever interacted within that speculation thread since creation. These accounts, with nearly identical posts/reactions, all just from the spec thread

Maybe it’s nothing, all just a coincidence. Maybe one dude has a bunch of alts pumping anything pro-PS5 and reporting anyone who disagrees. I have no way of knowing for sure.

I had never seriously browsed that thread until a couple days ago. I posted a couple times when a news broke and that’s it. When I actually paid attention for the first time, two things became clear immediately:

A.) that thread is a circle jerk with any and all random rumor or huge reach of an assumption (my dad’s barber says XsX can’t run UE5 demo, etc.) and.....

(in fairness, this thread is kinda a circle jerk too, but a fun one that isn’t about mass reporting people)

B.) ....from those circle jerk postings you can see a really odd pattern of posting/replies/reactions from these accounts I mentioned that literally only ever appear in that thread

Again, I could be making a mountain out of a molehill, maybe there’s nothing to any of this, but I just truly got a very fishy vibe from the jump once I actually paid attention in there.

But I’m a dumb, loony dork so ehhhh probably nothing

I have repeatedly said I believe the XsX's SSD is fast enough to run the UE5 demo just fine, and I have pointed out your agenda.

Nah, you're one of the most unbiased posters on GAF. If you are a you're a dumb, loony dork, I am too because have the same suspicions/concerns/questions about most of the participants in that thread.

They frequently rant about some secret Xbox discord. I think that thread is the extreme Sony fans version. They have to be mass reporting and they are a huge majority because they've run out anyone that speaks blasphemy against the PS5 and the magic SSD. It's crazy they can say or do pretty much whatever they want without getting banned, but someone caught a temp for implying the PS5 was 8TF and another guy got one for misstating that the PS5 had 9TFs, which in reality it is and overclocked to 10.2 in boost mode. I mean wtf?

What's strange is that you would expect this SSD touting from Sony PR themselves-which is typical and expected, but this is coming from a third party developer for a middleware game engine, and for other platforms. Now you got that thread quoting him left and right as if he just revealed that unicorns and goblins are real, ignoring what he and his company have created for the past decade. To me that is truly astonishing. On the plus side, this gives Microsoft a kick in the butt to reveal next-gen the way its suppose to be revealed-even it means using unreal engine 5.0
