Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition | Hype Thread | We're Really Feeling It

Day 8
O8Wuf8U.jpg

"Behold the power of the Monado!"
The other day I talked a little bit about chain attack and how I want to use its power better this time around. Well, when you're fighting a big monster and using chain attack to bring them down, this is the music you will usually be hearing. "You will know our names" is one of the most energetic, over-the-top, hype as anything boss battle tracks any jrpg ever had. It's got soaring crescendos and shredding guitar that often sync up well with your party yelling out encouragement and instructions to each other as they coordinate their turns.

There's also a bunch of alternate versions, mash'em ups and joke videos about this legendary song. Here are a couple of random ones:

Wew we only got about a week left, time went by quickly...........and my right joycon decided it was time to give up 😕, it's a good thing I got that pro controller when I was on vacation. It's crazy out there now 110 dollars for a pair on Amazon.
Mine also not looking too good, thankfully I bought both Pro Controller and Deamon X Machina Joycons.

I’m desperately trying to finish Trails of Cold Steel before this lands, clocking 85 hours atm and no way starting a new game before I finish that one.

Game is ranked high in Nintendo's fans lists, how is this game not on SONY, Nintendo has everyone Link, Mario, Xenoblade, what happened to multiplatform AAA games in the last two years all Nintendo fans have been talking about is Xenoblade and somehow it's not on PS4.
Because Nintendo acquired Monolith Soft long ago (2007)?

Nintendo made the right business move back then and it's still paying off well. Why would you want the PS4 to have all RPGs? It already has plenty. If anything the Switch doesn't have enough great RPGs (that are exclusive).

This is a first really, never seen such a thing someone is calling for a port of a Nintendo game. (well besides Bayonetta 2)

You have a weird perspective on who has the games, Nintendo fans spend more time port begging for Square Enix RPGs than any other fanbase. So Nintendo OWNs this developer and still you want to see the game on PS4.

Sony does not Own Square Enix or Atlus or Namco, or From Software but Playstation still gets all the major games from these companies while Nintendo fans beg for ports and rarely get them.

Xenoblade gets love because it is one of the few things we can count on to be on a Nintendo platform and still run like an epic-lenght JRPG.
Sure Switch is very popular and ports and support have been coming in much more these days than any other Nintendo platform of the past but that does not mean we are not left behind when it comes to Final Fantasy, Persona, Kingdom Hearts, and more.

Nintendo owns this one single developer so I don't see why anyone would feel a Xenoblade port should come out on PS4, Xbox, or PC. The Playstation brand is still lightyears ahead with exclusive RPGs no reason at all to pick at Nintendo's bones. They don't have anything you need to be jealous of. You want Zelda, Mario, Smash, Xenoblade buy a Nintendo platform to sit next to your PS4 for a bit.

If you are a Nintendo fan you own a Switch no question, most Nintendo fans have learned not to be a one platform owner so they have something else so they don't have to beg so hard for ports. I have a PS4 with my Switch so if I am really hurting for a game the Switch is not getting I have a chance to play it if I really want it.

Nintendo owns monolith soft so that's not likely to happen, ps4 and the switch have some superb jrpgs, I would suggest you look into getting a switch/lite.....not now though that shit is steep

I need a heart to heart guide, I need any other in-game guide

I think I owned a guide book for this game not sure if it was this or X could have been an art book need to check my closet

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I followed a heart to heart guide online once before when I played through this, but honestly I felt like it took away from the experience. There is a seemingly huge amount of stuff to micromanage to get everything.

This time when I play through the game again, I plan on doing all this stuff naturally or not at all - basically I plan on missing a ton of these

That is what I did. Just do it naturally and enjoy. You can always return later and grab the rest with post game content.

I was doing some cleaning up in my room and I came a cross a usb-a to c connector, I forgot I had it. That gave me an idea to try something out with my wireless Logitech headphones (G933) since it comes with a dongle. Turns out in works in hand held mode, I don't know whats the battery drain like but I didn't know the switch could even do that...........So I guess I will know their names. I just hope those deamon joycons arrive on time.

I really enjoy those joycons, they are much more comfortable than regular joycons. The only downside is that it doesn’t have HD rumple and only works when it’s attached to Switch itself.
Yeah that does suck but if I need any of that i'll just switch (heh) over to the pro controller. The programmable button looks ace, like I could use them for l3 and r3.

For reals though, I barely recognize her without her bunny outfit /jk

I've been able to grab a works set edition at my local video game store.

Sold out anywhere because of the scalpers...

God I hate scalpers, I hope none of them sell any, they ask 200$ or more on eBay!

Really happy for everybody who manages to nab a collector's edition (who isn't a price gouging scalper.)

But I'm going for the normie edition based on the hope that if I go around to enough shops maybe I'll find one where somebody will break street date "in these uncertain times."

I couldn't order the Collectors edition on Amazon Japan when it went up for preorder, as it said it couldn't deliver to my address, but just checked and they had it available for pre-order.

I ordered the Limited Edition from two different retailers to secure myself one. Now I can't cancel either of them because I'm afraid either could still cancel my preorder. I think the retailers should know their expected quantities by now, but you never know.

Nintendo tweeted out a couple screens. Just menus, but, something, I guess?

We get to see the title screens for both the remastered original game and the new episode “Futures Connected” which are different.

On top of that, we see the Event Theater mode, which lets you rewatch past cutscenes.

Interestingly, it has options to select equipment, time of day, and weather in order to customize what you’re going to see and enjoy the cutscenes with your favorite settings.

Booo, Amazon UK emailed me to say that my Collectors Edition order won’t be shipping on time. Hope it’s just amiss by a few days.

Amazon US just told me June 2nd is my new expected delivery date. Maybe Best Buy will pull through for me with release day delivery.
